Does anyone else here think those kiosks at Target are a wee bit annoying?

I've been doing my best to help my mom ready her parents' house for sale. It could be going better, honestly. The roof leaks in a few places, and the property floods. There's a buried oil tank and a dubious septic situation, not all of the plumbing or electrical wiring seems reliable, and generally the whole house has the sad, run-down atmosphere of a place where old people became unable to keep up with basic maintenance and were taken advantage by substandard caregivers and tradespeople. A few prospective buyers have mentioned that the house "feels like somebody died there," or "seems haunted."

Now, what would you do in this situation? Would you patch the roof, repair the sump pump to get rid of standing water in the cellar, give the walls and carpets a thorough cleaning, and brighten up the dingy spaces with a quick coat of paint? Or would you fixate with single-minded intensity on the notion of ghosts?

Perhaps you have inferred where my mom's relatives' priorities lie.

My mom's sister and my older cousin are convinced that my grandfather - who did, in fact, die in the home - is now haunting it. They are looking into arranging an exorcism. However, one of my uncles believes the house is being occupied by the spirit of their deceased brother, whom he feels is unable to rest in peace as long as he is buried next to my grandfather. He wants to disinter my uncle's remains and have them relocated. So everyone is fighting about ghosts, instead of making necessary repairs to the property.

That said, if anyone were going to return from beyond the grave to sow discord and fuck things up for the family, it would be my grandfather. He was the scariest, creepiest, most horrifying and all-around worst human being I've ever met in my life. I can't wait until this project is over and the property is out of the family's hands.

I think I can help with your house dilemma....

Honestly I've been alright. I've been tasked with a pretty annoying project at work, although I'm almost good with it, just have to double check with the team on the requirements. I honestly think my job is kind of a transitioning job. It's great for getting first hand experience in IT but I can't help but feel underutilized.

I've been thinking a lot about the future of my career lately, so I've been pretty focused. I've got some big plans. I want to get into a more niche field in software development where my skills can truly shine. It makes me a bit depressed too that I feel a bit like I can't go anywhere where I am now but I guess I just gotta be patient.

I'm a bit excited too because I'm getting ready for a big event soon. But also a bit anxious.

So a little everything I suppose. July and August are busy months for me.

I just spent the last half hour or so trying to remove some annoying adware that kept redirecting me to Yahoo. All because I tried downloading something for an AMV. I think it's finally gone now... hopefully.

Compared to yesterday (in which I spend half of my day waiting to take a drivers test I passed), I've been having more fun in the first half of today. Had nice hour long walk around the neighborhood getting some exercise. Aside from that, I had thoughts of driving around but I think I'll let it wait for a better time when there is less traffic in where I want to go to.

Apparently the college stuff I thought was paid off wasn't, and I just got a letter in the mail that I owe a collections agency $2,400. Fuuuuuck.

My bike got a flat and my wrench is missing.

On the plus side, Pluto is finally being photographed up close by New Horizons.

My sister's friend in recruiting told me to keep applying at the hospital she works at, so that's what I'm going to be doing, I guess. Maybe she knows something I don't?
