I just had a really bad call with a temp agency that I had signed up at last month. I almost hung up on the woman the phone call got so heated. She had trouble reading my resume (WTF, it was .pdf, pretty straight forward no way it could've been distorted like on a job application or a Word doc) and then suddenly she blurts out, "SO, YOU DID NOTHING FOR 3 YEARS, NO JOB APPLICATIONS, NO INTERVIEWS?"

Did you just imply that I was lazy?

So I said, "You know, I really don't like how you're talking down to me, and I'm about to hang up--"
"No! No! Have you applied to us before?"
"yeah, last month, I came down there and filled out the paperwork."

I cannot get over it. I know I'm being a total drama queen, but my long term unemployment is something I'm crazy insensitive about.
 
Temp agencies (not to be confused with the more technical staffing agencies that actually do things...sometimes) are such shit. I don't even know why you bother with them. I've dealt with them before and it's just an exercise in tedium. I'm assuming this is one of those office/clerical/data-entry type temp agencies. I used to do those types of office jobs too (from age 17 until like 22 :oops:, so I feel you) until I came to the realization that those types of jobs don't teach skills that you can parlay into a good job because let's face it: anyone could do them. That also makes it harder to find new office clerk type jobs, because if everyone can do them, it's just the luck of the draw/accumulated years experience that decides who gets hired for them and 9 times out of 10, that ain't gonna be you. My advice is to learn a trade or some specific, career-related skill at a vocational school or something to that effect.

Though maybe you mean one of the accounting-type temp agencies. If so, ignore me because I don't know the first thing about accounting.
 
Have had quite a good day today, filled in most of the application for my passport, and been reading up on D&D. (Thank you Sutur for the PDF's and Mauv too.

But been feeling extremely lonely today, wanting cuddles. Sometimes I get like that, and it's kinda sad I know. But I get lonely and on those really lonely days I wish I could get cuddles from someone who cares about me, as much as I would care about them. But maybe that is silly, and rather childish. :oops::heart-empty:(:_(

There is nothing wrong with you feeling that way, some of those agencies staff can be damn right rude and aggressive. I wish you good luck, and hope everything goes well for you.

Wanting closeness is a normal and healthy thing for a human being. Nothing childish at all.

It's a temp agency for legal offices.
 
I used to work at a law firm for quite some time (though this was a permanent job rather than a temp one). I didn't like it so I escaped.
 
Today, I helped my mother in volunteer work after I finished some classes today. At a building we went to, we could either paint a wall, pack food for the homeless, make tutu's for an after school running program for little girls, or make book marks. Pretty much did the first. We did get thanks from the people who worked in the building (said thankful people are part of some kind of special program for children and homeless people). It was somewhat enjoyable painting a wall.

Edit: Trying to remember the name, it's United Way. Also forgot to mention, due to helping out, I got a free shirt saying "Live United".

My day was pretty good. Got a huge compliment at work, then I found out that I not only passed an exam that I'd been worrying over--I fucking killed the thing. It's a Friday, there's no work or class tomorrow, and I celebrated by watching my favorite guilty pleasure movie--the 2004 Thomas Jane Punisher movie. Now I'm listening to bad YouTube tribute music videos and polishing off my liquor cabinet. I'll probably regret it tomorrow, but for now I'm happy.
 
Got a flat tire on the way back from my final exam today. That shit sucked.
 
I had the dream where I went into my bathroom and there was a pack of pudding sitting on the sink counter. This is like the second time this has happened.
 
can't wait until my last exam on Wednesday, there's so much stuff I need to do without school holding me back (having my wisdom teeth removed not being the least of them).

In a scarily similar situation as you. I'm taking my last final (trig) on Wednesday, then I'm getting two of my molars yanked out (it was supposed to be the wisdom teeth, but the guy sort of saw those molars, laughed, and said, "yeah, those are coming out."). Then there's a whole lot of other bullshit to deal with.
 
Yeah thankfully I've got a check-up (at least I'm assuming that's what they'll be doing) tomorrow after my final so that a professional can determine what's to be done about my wisdom teeth. But in my opinion, the fucking things have got to go.
 
I got home from classes and found my 13-year-old cat awfully sick, so I'm pretty worried about her. She's had health issues before, due to her being tiny and all, so I'm hoping that it's nothing serious.

Muh boyfran flies in from the UK today and will be staying for 5 weeks. Also, graduating with my B.M in Voice Performance in less than 2 weeks. Aside from a few pesky finals/appointments, it's looking to be a pretty grand time for the next slightly-over-a-month. Lord knows I need it; my anxiety's been kicked into high gear for the past couple of semesters.

Also my cat was found a couple weeks ago. He was kind of a fatass so losing 6-8 lbs, while not great, isn't so terrifying. Aside from that he's totally healthy. The only downside is that my other cat used his absence to come out of hiding and take the spotlight, since she used to be pretty scared of him (he likes attacking/trying to mate with her in spite of being neutered), and now he's starting to reassert himself. We're trying to prevent a return to the old ways, and for now, she still has a considerable size advantage.

Done with finals for the semester, which is nice. Still waiting to hear grades, which is not so nice, but at least I know I have two As. Next up, electrical circuits this summer.
 
Done with my finals as well, which doesn't mean I can relax just yet (let alone take some time to enjoy myself). But at least now I don't have a class schedule handcuffing me, which is nice.
