The way I see it is Broly has PTSD from being stabbed and thrown in the trash, then nuked by Frieza, sent hurdling through space as a newborn, and he just associates that experience with Goku's obnoxious crying, which is all he heard before the attack. This part's a stretch, but maybe that's also what drove him mad (or he was just born that way/it's a side effect of being the Legendary Super Saiyan).
