According to at least one HD2 Sloptuber, the new minigun will be Medium Armor Pen.

If true, that's gonna be an S-Tier support weapon.
I bet they're only going to give you like 300 rounds before you have to drop it and the recoil will be retardedly high to "balance" it. I hope they don't fuck it up.

It's going to have the reload time of the original hmg, if you can reload it at all, and the cool down time of an exosuit, and no durable damage

Durable damage is such a retarded system. Especially since it's literally not explained anywhere in-game, what it is or how it works.
It was clearly designed by a programmer. It would be too easy if it was just durable damage is the damage you do when hitting the same armor level as your pen.

Interesting news fellas. We've reached the (inevitable) point where Gamegaurd has made the game literally unbootable.

A Microsoft Azure outage has made GG unable to update, which in turn makes HD2 unable to launch.

The meatball eaters better take this as a sign to drop the trash off at the dump it belongs at. The anticheat making the game completely break because microsoft had an outage is completely unacceptable, even AH has to realize that.
I'm late but I hope this means they'll remove it and replace it with an anti-cheat that isn't chink spyware (lol imagine) that made playing the game for some people a hassle. Made me not purchase the game and ruined a chance I could actually play a game that I and my friends could actually enjoy. As a soulless homunculus it's hard to find a niggercattle game I'd actually enjoy so it's a rare occasion.

I haven't been keeping up with the warbond and only plan to get on soon here to farm and buy it and probably get back into the game, but I remember when they were spitballing ideas for how to make a minigun work in some AMA a while back one of the ideas they threw around was that you'd be stationary while firing and firing it would consume stamina and slow you down in the short term as a result. I doubt the act of holding it out will make you any slower since that isn't a mechanic for any other weapon in the game outside of special objective items like artillery shells. If it's a gatling sentry you can hold then its DPS wildly outclasses any other handheld weapon and I think the stationary while firing mechanic would make it very strategically interesting as positioning is now even more important than ever. I look forwards to it and given that it's a fucking minigun it would be very hard to genuinely fuck it up, the sheer amount of rounds you're firing means the DPS will only ever be extreme and accuracy doesn't matter as much as it could.

If it's anything like the gatling on the mech it should be easy enough to keep the barrel spun up and feather your rounds. It will probably be inaccurate if you try to fire while moving unlike the mech.

Justin Lin, best known for his work on the Fast and Furious action movies, is set to direct Sony Pictures’ and PlayStation Productions’ adaptation of Helldivers, based on the popular video game franchise from Arrowhead Game Studios. Lin will also produce the feature via his Perfect Storm Entertainment banner, along with Hutch Parker and PlayStation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan. Gary Dauberman, the scribe behind the hit It and Annabelle horror movies, wrote the script.
It's good to know it's so fucking over right off the bat.
The game received critical acclaim when it first came out in 2015 and the sequel, Helldivers 2, sold more than 12 million units across PS5 and PC in the first four months after its launch in 2024. The game recently expanded to Xbox, and is built on teamwork, camaraderie, humor and action. The concept, which recalls Sony’s Starship Troopers movies, centers on an elite unit of shock troopers, known as Helldivers, who must battle aliens known in simple terms as Bugs, Cyborgs, and Illuminate, threatening to destroy the fictional interplanetery and faux-democratic empire of Super Earth. Throw in some spores and genetically engineered decomposed Bug corpses come to life, and you’ve got yourself a sci-fi monster party.
Don't you just love an AI slop article?
Lin is not a gamer and leaned into that as a strength when pitching his take on the material, said insiders. He aims to find the humanity in the characters and weave timely themes into the story, while building out a world and mythology. There are plenty of details waiting to be drawn in, something that is compelling to the filmmaker.
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
And it gives Lin a second potential franchise at Sony that has an upward trajectory. On top of now working in the growing video game adaptation sphere, Lin remains in development and is attached to direct One-Punch Man, which adapts the hugely popular manga.
LOL. LMAO EVEN.
He remains on Brzrkr, the adaptation of the Keanu Reeves-created comic set up at Netflix, though he is off of crime thriller Stakehorse at Amazon MGM. The director is known for turbo-charging the Fast & Furious franchise into a multi-billion-dollar global phenomenon. After directing The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, he went on to direct Fast & Furious, Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6 and F9: The Fast Saga, which have collectively earned $2.66 billion globally. Lin also helmed Star Trek Beyond, the final film in the modern Star Trek trilogy. He most recently returned to his indie roots for Last Days, a true-life drama that premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions previously worked together on Uncharted, starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, which earned $407 million globally and is one of the top ten highest grossing video game adaptation globally. PlayStation Productions is also a producer on Peacock’s hit series Twisted Metal and HBO’s award winning The Last of Us.
It's amazing that the one common denominator between these things is that they all fucking suck.

Hollywood's capacity to fuck up the hypothetically un-fuck-uppable is infinite.
It was never a question of if this was going to be a comedic shit-show worthy of derision and ridicule; merely when and to what degree.

It's just amazing how hard Sony continues to fuck up.

So they added a supershotgun you can get from the superstore. Yes it's got Med Pen and can fire both barrels at once.
