I think the Cyborgs are cool. They're not secretly the good guys but they are on their homeworld. They're also pushing to become the dominant power of the galaxy and know well there's no such thing as coexistence of empires.
At any rate it's still prime time to raze Transcendance. After all, I'd rather fight cool enemies than lame ones, and if I'm going to get owned then getting the People's Knee is better than other ways.

Personally I do think Difficulty 10 should be Halo Legendary tier bullshit, with players expected to stick around 6 - 8 for the fairer gameplay like how Heroic is famously "How it's meant to be played" but even Halo 2's Legendary has a flow to it. As it is Difficulty 10 dives are either too easy or everything everywhere all at once with no consistency or in between.
Halo Legendary is easy if you can aim and get headshots.

Also, I don't know about you fellas, but I haven't gunned down a single Automaton "civilian". If such a thing exists, I ain't seen one.
"BEEB BOOP Litle tincan timmy soon to be bigbot his manufacturing date [COMPUTING] soon reaching the threshold of a 18 standard cyberstan cycle... so are we [PROCEED] to upload his consciousness from his feeble 250 watt mini ATX chassi into a WAR FUCKING STRYDER ?"

You joke but they did build (AH scaled down proportions) a child bot model to do the spoof propaganda of the family getting run over by a FRV.

If they started putting "child" soldiers in with the bots maybe I'd get an even bigger chuckle as I turn them all into scrap.

Regarding HD1 I never played but I am aware that back then the illuminate were peace-seeking mystics who were throwing together the best they could do in terms of military to defend from super earth, who condemned them as invaders/terrorists, and the cyborgs were undergoing their freedom fighting revolution even if they were all really grisly looking. the OG berserkers are sick.

Now though, the Illuminate are back for seemingly petty vengeance with actual weapons and military vehicles, and the cyborgs sent a colony ship or whatever of bots to self replicate and build a legion to invade back and save them, but this includes killing civilians and grinding them into bio fuel. Compared to 1, the 2 variants are getting down in the mud with Super Earth and somehow propping them up to be cleaner. The bugs are still bugs, but I suppose you can say corralling them and breeding out the more harmful genetics like hive lords just to have them come back bigger and more pissed is a Jurassic Park man's hubris scenario, where before they were just wildlife.

The bots building a "child" robot for the sole purpose of making propaganda to tug at human heartstrings is very on-brand.

The illuminate in 1 were the first alien species SE encountered and are (as far as we know) the oldest civilization in the setting, and as a show of good faith during initial peace talks they gave SE the cure to cancer.

They were basically Vulkans but squids.

Super Earth never said they were invaders or terrorists though, they accused the Squids of secretly hiding WMD's that could blow up planets and declared that the squids couldn't be trusted because they used mass mind control on a societal level.

The WMD's were probably bullshit, given we never found any, but the mind control thing was true. Their entire society was basically a big-brain caste system where the bigger brain (Squidzzat) you had the more valuable you were. How can you trust any kind of deal you make with a people that can literally mindcontrol you and have an entire civilization based on intellectual hierarchy?

We decided that all squid tech would be in safer hands with us, btfo'd them easily, then basically Treaty of Versailles'd them after the war.

They couldn't create ANY weapons and had to hand all of their tech over to us. HD2 then revealed that the squids couldn't hold up their end of the bargain so SE genocided them until they fled the milky way entirely, and were completely unseen and unheard from until 100 years later when they started turning random people into blob zombies out of nowhere.

Oh also Hive Lords aren't from us breeding the bugs for fuel, we only started doing that at the end of the first war and Hive Lords were already a part of the bug ecosystem before then. Afaik the Gloom just mutated the fuck out of them so they grew way bigger.

Punisher plasma is doing some heavy lifting for me clearing out the chaff. Im still struggling with the vox engines, but it seems like dudes are bringing loadouts jsut to deal with them so it all works out. Still annoying how hard it is to kill them though.

Yeah that's what I was on about I remember reading that scientists destroyed hive lords being able to be born (or so they thought) and all we had of their memory is old petrified carcasses on the battlefield of bug planets, but maybe the truth is that those were molts of them and they hid because they weren't that big anyways, until the gloom made them fuck off huge.

The WMD's were probably bullshit

I mean sure a bunch of retards in fancy capes made the black hole the first place, but being able to control it and presumably having exclusive access to the material to make more has gotta count as WMD possession.

Even with all the bones AH keeps throwing us I think we may genuinely run out of lives before we take Transcendence.

Too many people are fucking around on other fronts and draining lives.

I think its a tad bit AH part rather than the players... d10 cyberstan spam just too much at 4 random man stack.. As i said earlier AH probably expected mass tonk spam, yet the players basically running as infantry (because the tonk kind sucks) + their kit (eagle strikes) are crippled and orbitals cucked by building and repo times... (both AH design choices) pigeon holed to expandable's... One could say muh just drop the difficulties, but the planet resistance is fucking high cripling lower level play even further

I mean ultimately it's on AH, they designed the whole MO, I'm just saying that we've lost around 30 million lives across non-cyberstan planets.

Not massive, but absolutely not a good number to have lost on conquering zero planets when we're cutting it really close on the actual MO.

My thinfoil hat theory the devs, long ago decided to lost against cyberstan (the pulling out from my ass, under the cushion miracle reinforcements just smoke and mirror)

Why ?

The tools witch the foundation of this cyberstane stage were fucking broken / un tuned ( spawn rate, tank , vox engine) and those sweedistan borg morons at AH done jack shit to fix it, so kinda dragged down the whole story arc... Unless its not interfering the expected result which is we gonna lose the sige.

Also this miracle reinforcements boosts kinda patronizing, and show how incompetent and short sighted AH is...

In a ideal word this campaign looked like :

Day 1: Alright boiz you at cyberstan doorstep here 300m dudes WE crunched the numbers its 15%-ish overhead at d10 if you are all locking in, but you can be strategic and drop down the diff to increase the overhead... if you fucking this up its all on you, btw SOME rocket stryed and SOME facotry stryder spawn are swaped to war stryder and the new wox engine

Day 3-4 ish: Ok guys we fucked up the spawn rate and the tonk and mech surviability kinda fucked so we quickly hotfixing it to keep the original reinforcements overheads.

I wonder if the story AH is cooking up will mirror operation Barbarosa. There's a decent chance that we will he stopped at the gates of Transcendence and it will be disastrous if we are. Our forces are overstreched and depleted, ripe to be cut off.

I'd rather we see the rape of Cyberstan to completetion, but weathering the counter attack from the metallic communists could be very engaging too.

I'm been using it as well and I'm shocked how well it has been working out. After a bit of practice to get the lob just right you can take out whole patrols and any bot that doesn't explode out right is stunned for the follow up shot.

Between the punisher plasma, the grenade launcher, supply back, and null cipher armor I am a ghost of long range AoE bot destruction. I like to add in the Machine Gun Sentry to get the bots to face away from me and just let it rip. Hulks go down with two nades to the face and for War Striders I just empty the clip into.

I recently had a Vox Engine drive straight through a wall three inches from my face, which I gotta say, has been really emblematic of the Cyberstan experience.

Its funny, I didn't have too much trouble at the start of the invasion, but recently, I can't seem to go on a drop that doesn't end up a horrific bloodbath.

New cape for the game's 2nd year somehow not being destroyed by Arrowhead's incompetence.
...It's a recolor.

Logging in from February 1st to February 28th will grant you the cape.
That cape is the other half of the skull to the 1st anniversary half.

Edit: Haven't yet found the cape picture or discussion of it elsewhere online for a better clean picture.

If the jet brigade and the incineration corps are in the same place, the only choice has got to be the fireproof armor. I swear the primary tactic of Rocket Power Retard Robos is to just blow up next to you and cover you in jet fuel.
