Looks like we got an update. I assume by "perks" it means that the limited creation of the website and other various rewards will roll out in July. Email is also holla@ihollaback.org if anybody is interested. The very first reward for pledging 1$ promises early access to the platform so its likely that we may see the lolcowpocalypse in its incubation period by then.

If just ONE person donated $1 with every intention of hijacking HeartMob's code, that literally just sounded like an open invitation to abuse the hell out of platform alpha/beta testing access. And I can't think of a way that HM's devs could pre-emptively deny "haters" from getting this access they paid for without both causing a shitstorm similar to the Mighty Number 9 chargeback controversy that got people's banks involved and highlighting blatantly illegal denial of paid-for goods without sufficient evidence (since as we know, the SJW's can't actually prove jack shit in the eyes of the law that somebody was going to hijack the program simply because of absolutely stupid reasons)

When it turns out? There is no turning out to do. There was no transparency from the jump. People gave money to Heartmob without the slightest clue of what this thing was going to do. I did hours of digging on this thing, much more than what the people who donated did, and I couldn't find a single word on any of the pragmatic concerns that you might want to know about before giving money to an organization.

The people who donated don't give a single fuck about where their money goes. They are either slacktivists, who are doing their good deed for the day by giving money to a Kickstarter that confirms their ideology, or rubes of the highest order. You really don't need to feel sorry for these people.

If you're honestly gonna be upset when Heartmob reveals itself as a sham, you may need to recalibrate your thought process on the subject, unless you actually like being upset.

I didn't donate and I am not going to. Unless they are actively stealing from me I don't see the problem. Let them help people by doing whatever bullshit they wanna do. If they can get some money out of it then even better.

As PT Barnum said, "There's a sucker born every minute." At some point you have to expect others to see through bullshit themselves. If someone don't do theirdue diligence, their research, or realize their expectations then they're just throwing their money around, and can you blame someone for wanting to stand under a waterfall made of dollar bills?

I'm guessing it'll be about 30 mins of HTML or CSS work.

Swindling money out of people is one thing, and a generally bad one, but swindling money out of people to hire a hitmobheartmob to go after people like me actually has some slight concern. Not much, since it's unlikely to get off the ground at all and even if it does, is vastly more likely to be hilarious than actually harmful. It's certainly worth keeping an eye on, though.

I'm half convinced it's actually a trolling operation in and of itself. All these people are going to sign up and post about how people are making fun of them and why.

There will be no more need to "farm" our LOLcows; we can just go to the store and pick a gallon of lulz when we need it.
