For decades, Japanese law, media, and social norms treated sexual violence as something that only “counted” if it involved extreme force and resistance. Getting jap media to the West was a mistake. I sound MATI, but it was a cultural clash in every sense of the word. As "Westernised" as Japan is, they didn't absorb all of the ideas of the West, and we then got back their "soft power" in return, through media and culture. And look at things now - one may argue it's "not any worse than what we see with the West", yeah, true. One would ask - if we didn't have such influence, if we would be any worse.
 
Looking at the Tvtropes pages for Hellaverse shows always makes me annoyed. Not least of all because it forces me to think about absurd people who are happy with the bad writing.

For all the talk in the site rules of limiting natter and complaining on works pages, the pages for the Hellaverse shows, in particular the character and other side pages sure do read like the personal blog of some tropers.
 
Late on this but I've seen clips of some Hazbin backstories, and they look so much better than the rest of the show.

Sure the backgrounds are still gray or yellow but there's more contrast. The fact that most human designs are simple, they aren't all disorganized and red, is actually refreshing. Your eye's drawn to the characters' because they're allowed to stand out.

Look how the values in the room and hair just frame the face. Pentious' human design actually looks clean. My eyes can rest! It's all so nice. I think what put me off this show, besides the obvious, is that the constant red and songs and saturation are both monotonous and annoying. It's just fucking annoying.
