The show at this point has become incestuous with the amount of shipping they all have. No one can just have a regular relationship, hell Alastor might as well be shipped that the seat Vox tied him to.
They will start shipping cast members soon, I can feel it. VAs too.
Lust is one of the seven deadly sins, man.
Pride too, for not letting go of their own ideals.

I could understand it in a historical sense if they kept it like their eras (but we all know Rosie is Lilith so it doesnt work here.) Having them call Alastor a pet, or belittling him because od the era they died in makes sense or even Pentious (1888) not treating Alastor well because hes a British person whos probably never seen a black person because of how rare they were there. And could be very interesting, as well as highlighting the injustices black folks experienced. But with the world building and everyone adapting to "hip" current era this just makes it come off as tone deaf. And circles back to being actually racist instead of criticizing or highlighting the history.
There's a reason why you wouldn't know the majority of the characters' location and time period they're from unless you've been following this show since it's conception. Because a lot of them act like they're from the modern time. I'm not saying that they're can't be some that adjust to the change, but with how some characters" clothing represents (poorly usually) what time they were alive, that would mean their worldview would also still relatively be the same. Especially, since a lot of them were alive when a war was occurring and/or other terrible events, you think that would make some extra hostile to certain types of people.

Not even the twitter stans like the way Charlie has been written in these last two episodes, some even made the comparison to this old spongebob meme with pilot Charlie/current Charlie:

... that then lead to someone making the Hazbin version of it:

Goodness gracious, looking at the designs side by side. I know it’s been said before but who thought right was an upgrade compared to left? Animation experts, is there a benefit to using charlie’s current design that the uneducated are not privy to?

The only thing I could think of as an upgrade is her hair as you can rig it and make it more consistent. Other than that no. It is a significant downgrade and far harder to read as an animator if I was given this character as I would think her snatch is out with the design.

She's speed running the Homer Simpson issue, going from a well meaning but dumb character to a full blown malicious retard, just like society.

Funnily enough invincible (the show version) also has the problem to a lesser degree.

Besides race-swapping characters (for zero reason other than pandering) there is also omitted words from the comic like “retard” “fag” etc. There’s a part where Mark starts bantering at William for trying on his costume calling him “gaaayyy” (not knowing William actually was gay). This was cut too; despite being common shittalk for male peers as teenagers. I love invincible, but compared to the comic they seem a bit more PC unnecessarily.
Meh, the Invincible show has bigger adaptational problems than that.

ADDICT depicted Charlie with the current hair design so the series doesn't even get a win on that.

The most common reason for why the series' design is considered superior is because Charlie looks more like a hotel manager. I'm sure there are ways to convey that without the excessive red. And if we're talking about her actual body, people say her curvier facial features makes her look more mature, which is quite ironic considering Charlie's a lot more childish in the show compared to the pilot.

One definitive aspect about the series' design that can't be defended whatsoever is her undershirt. Charlie's vest in the series exposes so much of her torso area that her suspenders should be visible yet they're not unless she has the vest completely off.

I kinda preffer the pilot design, because it gives a more "hands on approach and doing shit by herself" look, which I feel sells her nature of wanting to help people and solve the issue of how they can get redeemed.

I have posted a comparison of the three different designs for Charlie her before but here it is again:

As mentioned before the hair being tied is that it can be rigged easier like ReRunner mentioned, but this show isn't rigged. The hair being tied up is probably so when Charlie starts transforming into her demon form, there is noticeable dramatic to it where her hair comes undone and loose.

There's also the fact that usually lines with edges are much easier to animate and be more consistent than rounder lines. But besides that there is no other advantage I can see to the show's version compared to the other two. Especially when it comes to the show's hair bang. Just look at any shot with Charlie in the show and you'll see how no one knows what it's supposed to look like. Especially in her side views.

I think the Addict Charlie would have been fine for the show, but I've also seen a fan version of the show's one that was made to be easier for animators and it's not so bad either. Probably cause it looks similar to the Addict version as well. tumblr_a9292975a293a69f6a22054ae6f517a0_7b2a8c6c_1280.jpg

Rosie getting a stealth upgrade from generic overlord to actual demon/super sinner who makes bargains with humans was a welcome change. I thought they were going to do the "Lilith in disguise" route.
I wouldn't rule it out yet, especially considering how she gets upset with Alastor's decision to quit helping the hotel.

I’m extremely curious to hear your viewpoints, In the appropriate thread.

To add my 2cents, the pilot designs for all the characters are infinitely better, mostly because you can tell that was pure passion project, now it’s just another show in a corporate conglomerate. You’re gonna lose some of the original spark when you do that with any show.
