It's funny, cause apparently explicit depictions of sex and violence is okay, even the moments where the two are intertwined with each other are fine. But the moment someone uses one of the "no-no" words, that's when it becomes a serious issue.

We live in the age of safe-edgey. South park does it, Invincible does it, Hazbin Hotel does it, The Boys does it.
In my opinion Smiling friends and King Of The Hill (revival) gets a pass in my book for being safe edgey because both of these shows:
A. Never diverged from source material to pander B. Never panders massively to any one side period
Safe-edgy is basically bash what is allowed to be bashed: Whites, "hetero-normativity" and Christianity. The moment you use "bad words", talk about alphabet retards or even others, its when people will say you are the type of person who shouts "nigger" but cry upon a "Charlie Kirk death meme".

First we have Sir Pentious proving Adam right by continuing to Sin (while also having the least popular song). Now Best and only worthwhile Angel Lute utterly kills the competition with a blow out victory even over the main villains of the season.

Viz has to give the fans what we want and that is Total Lute vengeance against the hotel for taking away the best thing about the show.
Hopefully Viviane reads this: where's Michael, you fatty yaoi fujo? He would be a breath of fresh air in your series.

That's why the show had Alastor kill a snobby rich white guy, he's a murderer but we can't show him murdering anyone except someone wokies would think "deserve it" anyway. Viv being surprised at the Alastor defender takes is hilarious because, yeah, that's what happens when your edgy schtick is built around what you're "allowed" to be edgy about.

One of the theories I've seen around about Alastor being deer-themed is that he was (accidentally) killed like a deer. Serial killers are huge narcissists so be mistaken and then having a appearance like a lowly animal would be a huge blow to his ego.
This is Viv, so that bit won't acknowledged though. Also a bit moot since deer are being turned into 'kingly' animals on writing nowadays so that symbolism is lost and will instead add to bitch boy's pride, making him an annoying asshole if people so much point out what deers are actually supposed to be.

I kinda hate this show but the one thing I do appreciate is they did show how truly manipulative and charming Alastor is and that he's probably always been that way. They don't shy away from making him a psychopath, and it's apparent that having deer symbolism be his cursed form in Hell does get to him. We see how embarrassed and bitter he is about how he died when he talks to Rosie. The guy literally made a pact with a demon because he'd never considered redemption and decided he'd settle for Hell, but only if he could be as overpowering as he was in life. He's actually evil. I hope that they don't change that but knowing Vivziepop she probably will.

It was confirmed in his backstory in the episode, he was mistaken for a deer and shot by a hunter while he was in the woods burying a body. And yeah, every time Rosie or Lucifer or whoever else refer to him as a deer he's clearly pissed about it. He views himself as a scary predator and now he's stuck with the physical attributes of a prey animal, it's gotta be a huge blow to the ego kek.

Now that a fifth season has been greenlit, it begs the question of who is left to be an antagonist. You got Eve, Lute, and Roo, but then who after them? Do they make Alastor a villain and risk pissing off the fangirls? Do they have Lucifer suddenly become a villain with no explanation? Or now that HB is under the Amazon umbrella, do they have Satan and Mammon start a civil war to usurp the royal family?
There's also that lovecraftian family right? The one where Charlie has an ex-boyfriend and a sister that hates her guts. Viv did said that season 3 will focus more on the morningstars so I wonder in they will make an appearance. Could be fun just to see Lute relegated to a secondary antagonistic role again.

For what it's worth Viv seems to flip flop on whether she wants Hazbin to last 5 or 6 seasons, since I think about the time the first season came out she did an interview and one of the things she said was how Bojack Horseman was one of her favorite shows, how it lasted 6 seasons, and how she'd like to do 6 as well, needless to say it's a stupid comparison but whatever. There's also the possibility one season might not have a big antagonist, and how Viv has said Season 3 will be about 'revelations' and said yesterday that it could be described as a 'Morningstar season' and we'll find out what Rosie's scheme is.

There's a von Eldritch family out there somewhere, yeah. Charlie dated Seviathan or however it is spelled.

Also, Stolas in HB straight up name drops "Azathoth" in S2E2 so I absolutely expect there's going to be more Lovecraftian shit at some point in one or both of the shows.

But they'll still have a musical number about a white woman singing how a mixed-black man is her pet and belongs in her zoo.

Yep. His appearance is predictable.

So like is Baxter going to do anything this season or are we gonna get the vivziepop special where he befriends everyone and becomes a better person offscreen during a timeskip that was poorly communicated to begin with

Did someone finally restrain Viv and put competent writers/editors in the staff to try to get good ideas working out of the flaming trash heap? I really want to go 'holy shit, an actual unlikeable character' but knowing Viv, it won't stay long. I was waiting for the rest of the episodes to release before continuing.

I hope that if he appears he wears something other than a suit. Cause I am so tired of seeing every other male character in this show wearing a fucking suit as casual wear. I also hope that they don't go down the typical trope of "ex is a jerk" and that the breakup was mutual and the two are still on good terms.

I know I deserve all the 🌈 for this one as this is very unlikely to happen.

Has a fifth season actually been confirmed ?
I went and searched because people in this thread keep talking about a fifth season and I haven't heard anything about that. Apparently Viv said in an interview back in September she plans for HH to have five seasons but only 3 and 4 have been greenlit by Amazon (so far):

The first season changes the rules of the Hellaverse considerably, leaving the future uncertain for season 2, arriving on Prime on Oct. 29 — and for seasons 3 and 4, which have already been greenlit. Medrano says her plan for the show encompasses five seasons, and fans will really see that story start to come together in season 2.

My wild guess is that because he works for Vox, he worked on that big robotic shark that seems to be set up as the main weapon Vox is going to use against Heaven, and so Baxter knows how to take it out. He'll get the Vivziepop special to justify him turning though.

It's even stupider when you take into account that Bojack wasn't intended to end on its sixth season, but Netflix wanted to, so to compensate the shortening, S6 had 4 extra episodes compared to previous seasons.
Everyone's already went into detail why Viv comparing Stella to Beatrice is stupid.
With the revelation that Angel killed his father, I actually had this fear that they were going to have it where he killed his sister, and Viv would treat it as Hazbin's "17 minutes" twist, not understanding that as shocking as that was, it's aligned to Bojack's behavior throughout the show versus Angel who up to this point has been nothing but an abused femboi, so for him to do an heinous act such as that, would be completely out of left field.
