Though speaking of the flashback, I did like the detail that Vox's voice had an old analog TV filter over it, and even if he does struggle with being an egomaniac who wants to be on the very top of the totem pole, it does give more evidence he seems to legitimately want to share power with those he considers allies, wow a villain that's multidimensional, has some positive character traits and isn't just a one note evil bad guy, I'd almost impressed with Viv if I knew he stayed a villainous character to the end

I do wonder if this goes back to his life as a cult leader, where he did have all this power but felt very lonely as he didnt have anyone by his side.

Yeah like he doesn't seem to actually care about helping Charlie beyond Rosie telling him to.

I won't be surprised if he is going to be a villain later on since it feels like there is a setup for him to break free of the deals he's in like to get Charlie to finish her deal since she just needs to do one favor by knowing her nature to get Vox to break his bargain to hurt her and then fuck with Rosie by helping Vox get more powerful since he'd no longer be the strongest.

Now that a fifth season has been greenlit, it begs the question of who is left to be an antagonist. You got Eve, Lute, and Roo, but then who after them? Do they make Alastor a villain and risk pissing off the fangirls? Do they have Lucifer suddenly become a villain with no explanation? Or now that HB is under the Amazon umbrella, do they have Satan and Mammon start a civil war to usurp the royal family?

Even if the guy was a rich racist asshole, which there's no definitive proof that he was, killing is obviously worse. Murder shouldn't be your first choice in solving conflict. If you think it's okay to kill someone because they were rude to you, then there's some severe mental issues going on and you should probably get some therapy before you do something that will get you behind bars.

It shows these people don't have self control. Instead of showing politeness and - if need be, "humiliate" a person through argument and wit, they resort to childishness and destruction. GRRRR I MUST DESTROY!

Alastor now being (part) black who kills people at the slightest provocation just reinforces what I speculated earlier:

I will say, I'm actually pleased with Vox and Velvette as antagonists. I was concerned about what two middle management dead humans could do against Charlie but they're weaponizing the fact that she's a total pushover. For all my gripes, I'm having a good time this season.

What makes it even better is they are not intimidated by Charlie "going rogue" because the last time she did that she still got her ass kicked by CHADam. Plus her character is so terrible and she doesn't command respect. No amount of red eyes or long devil horns is going to change that.

I think Roo is gonna be a big bad villain for the finale of S5, S 3-4 will prob be setting her up and how she manipulates all behind the curtain, S3 or 4 will have Alastor try and become the big bad, only to get curb stomped and later turn on Roo. But, this is just my speculation.

Charlie has become insufferable and I hate her quirky anxiety/panic attacks that just made her retarded, she realized Pentious got redeemed, so what? If someone told me something I was trying to do actually works for some reasons, I would try to think about how and why it worked this time, but instead of doing the obvious, Charlie contacts Voxtek?????????? Even though she knows one of the V is an abuser of one of her friend? She almost killed Husk and Angel even though she could have saved the situation herself since she has powers (or she can only do fireworks and have a demon form?), she doesn't listen to Vaggie who gives her actual advice and also, there are clients in the hotel right? There are people who have chosen to stay, but she does nothing to redeem them? Why are they not introduced? Why are they not in therapy sessions or whatever with the rest of the hotel protags?

Alastor is a huge loser and he lost all the coolness he had in the pilot. His deal is stupid and predictable: he wants to hurt Charlie so she cannot ask Vox to protect them (as if they are going to protect Charlie in the first place?) because he wants his power back? What a fraud. And why Charlie doesn't even have body guards? She is a princess right? As a princess it should be required that she has a personal army or some protection, Alastor doesn't count since it's a deal he made with rosie, and Vaggie clearly can't protect her all alone, her dad is sometimes here to save her but only when it's for the plot, and if her dad is her body guard, then nothing and no one can kill Charlie in hell, so what's the point of the deal? Alastor is a faggot furry ship bait and nothing else. Sad day for Alastor's fans.

So far those two characters are the worst.

I would break alastor's deal by having adam become the most powerful sinner and one that doesn't really have loyalty to anyone.

For a while I thought it was just the lighting, but after comparing other shots of him from season 1 and 2, I think they did make his color palette slightly darker.

Now if they can only fix that shitty haircut of his.

Funnily enough invincible (the show version) also has the problem to a lesser degree.

Besides race-swapping characters (for zero reason other than pandering) there is also omitted words from the comic like “retard” “fag” etc. There’s a part where Mark starts bantering at William for trying on his costume calling him “gaaayyy” (not knowing William actually was gay). This was cut too; despite being common shittalk for male peers as teenagers. I love invincible, but compared to the comic they seem a bit more PC unnecessarily.


We live in the age of safe-edgey. South park does it, Invincible does it, Hazbin Hotel does it, The Boys does it.
In my opinion Smiling friends and King Of The Hill (revival) gets a pass in my book for being safe edgey because both of these shows:
A. Never diverged from source material to pander B. Never panders massively to any one side period

Hazbin hotel takes this all to extreme levels though. Mostly because it’s ludicrous that actual demons in hell wouldn’t say anything they want whenever they want to whoever they want.

First we have Sir Pentious proving Adam right by continuing to Sin (while also having the least popular song). Now Best and only worthwhile Angel Lute utterly kills the competition with a blow out victory even over the main villains of the season.

Viz has to give the fans what we want and that is Total Lute vengeance against the hotel for taking away the best thing about the show.
