Do you believe that this series will turn to shit?

It's also her first major speaking role in an animated production. I would be exceptionally surprised if the twist is that the speaker of God is evil. She simply doesn't have the acting voice for it. It's too soft and gentle to be aggressive.
More people have been theorizing that Abel is going to be a twist "villain". Which is kind of interesting, but if this show does take this path, I feel like it will just come out of nowhere with no foreshadowing.
Amazon's Netherlands channel posted the Cherri/Pentious song early.

Currently phoneposting, or I'd upload a local archive, but I'm glad we can finally thank Amazon for saving everyone the time and finally just leaking this show themselves.
What the ever loving auto-tune Disney Channel movie shit is this? Anyway, I feel like this song will be received in the same manner as Whatever It Takes was. Which is funny because this song is very reminiscent and they both appeared on episode 3 of their respective seasons.

Anyway, I guess I was right that all Cherri was going to be doing was pining over Pentious this season. And the writer are trying to retcon that she always had feelings for him in the beginning, even though the in her first introduction in the Amazon show she didn't even remember who this person was. Viv is failing again at writing the tsundere trope correctly because we as the audience have to know that a character has feelings for another, even if they don't show it to their crush.

You need to match your duet partner's intensity. You will do that naturally while singing together. The problem is that these people are probably in seperate soundbooths, and aren't actually singing together.

Still pretty good song.

Guarantee Cherri's actress couldn't hold the Aussie accent and sing at the proper intensity without the auto-tune.

At least this song is being performed by two characters who aren't dull as dishwater. It's astonishing how fucking boring Carmine is. I'm not convinced her "daughters" are even hers and not just random automotons with how big of props they are.

At this point I almost feel like a bunch of the leaks and fuckups in the past month or so are actually guerilla marketing, because holy fuck Occam's razor is getting stretched.
Come again? Meaning, they will choose to animate the last seasons episode by episode IF the fans like how the episodes are coming along; otherwise it was all a "vision" by Lucifer, or new "original character"? That would be a MASSIVE copout.

New season has lots of cute "sexxxy demon lady" designs. Too bad no female character ever gets to do anything in a Viv show.

That was the case for S1. The staff expressed astonishment by how well synced Keith and Blake were for Loser, Baby despite recording separately.
Well the ship is a mess and shipping culture is total garbage and premium breeding ground for Lolcows, but I do think the song is pretty solid, definitely think the music is an improvement over S1 so far.
I've been enjoying all of S2's songs thus far. I was quite surprised by how much I ended up liking Piss, to the point where I'd dare say it's my favorite audibly. Brightman's already universally adored for Hell Is Forever as Adam and he gave quite the performance as Pentious. Krystina, even though she isn't naturally Australasian, was able to keep up with the accent as best as she could, and what it's worth, she gets an A for effort.

With that being said, its downside from a narrative stance stems from how underdeveloped this ship is, mainly in regards to Cherri as a character. I want to wait until the episode comes out before making a fair judgement, but going off these lyrics, Cherri misses Pentious because without him, Hell's not fun. As we saw in S1, she invited Angel Dust for drinks. And that's all she did besides CherriSnake moments. It's hard to describe what her character is other than serving as a prop for Angel as even in pre Amazon content, most of what we see of her circled back to him. Looking at Episode 3's thumbnail, the part where Angel saves Husk on the tracks is more than likely going to be included, so combined with that, the main plot with Vox, and whatever plot point leads to the song that Baxter's involved with, there doesn't look to be enough time to focus on what seems to be Cherri's big moment in the season.

I probably would like this song a bit better if one of the character's singing this was more than just a love interest. And a shitty one at that. She had no interest in Sir Pentious until apparently after Angel Dust mentioned the fact he had two dicks which is...not looking good for her. Now she's singing her heart out about how Hell is boring without him there, which I call bullshit since for the majority of season 1 she was having plenty of fun without him, and actively annoyed whenever he did try to try hang out with her. At least when Vaggie sings about how much she loves Charlie and needs her, I can believe that since her whole existence has been to support Charlie. Cherri could be singing about some random background character and it would still hold the same weight to her supposed feelings of Pentious.

Cherri falls under the same category as Blitzø, where Viv manages to portray the "tsun" but forgets about writing the "dere" part to this archtype. And she relies on the fact that the fandom is already shipping this characters so she doesn't have to write the relationship developing.

With how they portrayed him in HH the only way I can see him as a villain is like this:

Yeah the new cherrysnake song is mogged by gravity pretty hard. Kinda embarrassing lewl

You know Abel going to get one of his dad's guitars to remember him by even though he doesn't seem very outwardly upset at his death and acknowledges that Adam (to his knowledge) "didn't even like him" strikes me as interesting.

Perhaps a hint of... depth to a Viv character?

You mean like Abel himself? :smug:

The only hint that Cherri gives a shit about him before the two dicks comment is right beforehand where Pentious compliements her explosives and where it could be inferred that she looks disappointed when he doesn't manage to spit it out and runs off, but then again it could also be inferred that she was just confused over what just happened, but even if you go by the former, having her suddenly be head over heels for someone over one sincere compliment and a passionate kiss and self-sacrifice, should either be massively focused on as something unheard of in Hell or it just makes Cherri out to mainly exist as Pentious' love interest.

If anything the flashbacks shown in their song makes their relationship even more confusing, since I assumed it was retconned to where they weren't serious rivals like the pilot anymore and their 'rivalry' was mainly just blatant attempts to try to get Cherri's attention on Pentious' part, which Cherri mainly used as an easy punching bag, so did he realize that he actually loved her sometime during the 5 month time jump in the middle of S1 which is before she even shows up in the series, if so why, when, and how? Like @Strawberry Kiwi Propel mentioned there will be a lot that needs to be covered in this episode, and it's at best going to be the B plot and might end up even being the C plot, so it's very unlikely we get details on how these two really viewed each other before the plot demanded they hook up, much less anything that gives Cherri her own character.

There's this theory that Cain is Zestial due to the fact that he's the oldest Overlord who's considered ancient by even Alastor, makes Sinners panic upon sight, and a couple theorists are saying his hat resembles ones worn by farmers from older times, which was Cain's occupation.
I'm neutral on whether this theory turns out to be true or if it even makes sense to begin with. Given how many characters this show already has, it'll make things easier to have Cain be incorporated as a preexisting character rather than be a brand new one, and it could expand on Zestial beyond "retired legend" and "Carmilla's boo".
Reasons those who don't think this theory holds water give include how unmarketable it'll be for one of Adam's sons to look nothing like the other, the lack of buildup, and the absurdity of it all, especially if they do go with "Rosie=Lilith, Lilith=Eve".
And I guess Zestial has a last name apparently. Link above is the only source of it. It's Morde, German for murders.
I guess though that would be a terrible idea as the mark of Cain makes him not invincible, but a difficult enemy as you would suffer sevenfold more than Cain/Zestial. That is unless the mark left him upon his death. Practically setting a Character or Cain up as a sacrifice to deal with Cain or as a way to redeem himself by allowing Roo to kill him thus saving everyone.

Edit: I don't see Zestial as Cain. Cain is suppose to wander around as a fugitive constantly restless full of paranoia. However not only is he established as an Overlord, but he walks around with an air of confidence that God would never allow Cain to have. It does not fit unless you throw everything about Cain away expect for the fact that he was a farmer and murdered his brother.

Perhaps since he left the Lord's presence and lived in the land of Nod you could say that Cain only fears vengeance from the faithful which there are none in Hell. I don't know spiraling down the rabbit hole on the thought process of a someone who most likely never read the bible.

Here's another 4chan post that I found that would have made Sir Penious' backstory more interesting:

"I feel like better way to do this version of Pentious's backstory would be giving more attention to the prostitute rather than Jack the Ripper

Pent and her could be first shown as friends. Where she is someone who maybe has to do this job to support her child or something and finds solace with human Pent. Her one friend in poverty who is ambitious engineer who wants to get out of their awful life and maybe take her out of it through this as well.

Where we can see a connection between them before the tragedy occurs. Where we can with maybe one or two scenes establish a certain bond between them. And when the night happens she screams for help. His help. And Pentious is too afraid to die and not have his ambitions fulfilled and acts like a coward. Hiding in his house and not going out or doing anything. Jack the Ripper is of little matter here, it could be anyone. But what is the focus here then is not Pent being some poor soul forced into this sin because Jack is someone "powerful and influential", no, it's Pentious who makes this decision to abandon her. Who is selfish and cowardly enough to let his friend die. Someone you find deplorable for his choice.

And when he gets to making his ambition a reality it blows up in his face (possibly literally) as he is too weighted down by guilt to focus and his invention kills him.The key with this shift in focus is to NOT feel sorry for Pentious. It's to make you despise what he did. It's to make the audience HATE him at this moment. But give him enough humanity to make the audience want him to be better." -A random 4channer

The fact that 4chan of all places is writing Viv's characters better.
