Ye, this is why the pilot needed a remake like Doc said. 'Cause the pilot gives implication is Al just saw Charlies hotel on the TV and got curious about it. Which, goes in face of S2 leak of where Rosie says how she sent Al to keep an eye on Charlie.
To be fair, that might've always been the plan. The beginning of Alastor's prequel comic has him killing a rose plant, one of Lilith's outfits on a portrait in the pilot resembles Rosie's, the way Alastor looked at the picture of the Magnes and the whole "Rosie never died" thing Faustisse stated in a livestream suggests that Alastor's working for Rosie=Lilith. Perhaps Alastor seeing Charlie on TV was his opportunity to get involved in her endeavors with a valid claim to being there.

But of course since S2 has Charlie meeting Katie Killjoy for the first time means that he can't use that for his explanation on how he heard about the hotel. There's also Angel Dust being taken back by Mimzy's backstory of him to which he already heard nearly word by word from Vaggie, and Vaggie getting on Angel Dust's case on participating in a turf war when her idea of a trust exercise is... having Angel Dust and Sir Pentious fight in a turf war. So for that last point, either Vaggie wasn't intended on being a former exorcist (the more likely scenario) or they would've gone about building her up as one differently since her acting as a drill sergeant in Episode 3 was the major instance of foreshadowing the reveal.

Lute is best girl and it's not even close. I'm going to laugh especially hard when they start trying to make her seem evil for wanting the conspiring hordes of demons out of heaven

That's a face you can trust to keep you safe
She falls into the same trap as General Ironwood and John Walker, being a character who makes the most sense, and is villified so the audience will side with the heroes.

She's certainly a very sympathetic character, given how we saw how much she's suffering from Adam's loss based on the leaks. There is a potentially interesting character journey in there if during her quest for vengeance, she recognizes she's only bringing more misery while not resolving her own, or goes through a change of perspective if she winds up getting to know some of the people Charlie was trying to redeem. The setup's there for a classic antagonist to protagonist plot line, and is the kind you'd expect in show who's theme is supposed to be redemption.

But Viv probably wants to use her as another character to project all her personal feuds and hatreds onto like she did with Adam, Lute probably meant to represent all those girls in high school that she hated for being prettier and more popular than her.

I've heard theories going around that Lute is secretly Eve, and that would certainly be more interesting than her secretly being Lilith or Rosie or Roo or whoever the fuck.

Eve: first true woman made from the rib of the first man.

Was created to be the perfect faithful loyal companion and a good wife to man a faithful true and loyal servant to man.

Made to be a replacement for a disloyal, disobedient, imprudent, hatlot who refused to be a good wife and know her place and later went on to be the brood mother to two kinds of life sucker's one of blood (vampires) the other of...well you know what succubus crave.

Lute:....yeah I can see her being the real eve.

She's supposed to only go up to Vox's waist, but they can't keep her framing consistent for a second

I find myself thinking, if the people behind the show would choose to dedicate even a third of the energy and interest they give to this fanservice shit (including the entire universe of the merchandising), to writing the plot line decently, HH would potentially be impeccable. But because this entire shows premises are becoming painfully obviously only a fever dream of an ao3 writer, here we are. Sorry for the seething.

The one thing that won't help is the dialogue. I rewatched the Vee's scene again, and I'm wondering why they all sound like a bunch of high-school bullies from media. Remember, all three of them are somewhere in their thirties, with one of them having died in the 1950s.
Agree and season 1 had the same problem. It s not even the idea of "different characters, different personalities, different ways of expressing themselves". They somehow all have the same tone, and it s just a constant doubling down on whomever is going to say the most heinous line on the next beat.

Edited to add: maybe Al was the only one that somehow was standing out, because they did dedicate attention to the character building, at least on a surface level, giving him this mid Atlantic accent.

"Yeah she's great with the demons and good at killing kids"

"..."

"Sorry I mean she's great with the kids and good at killing demons"
These lines would have applied perfectly to Lilith as well, considering the lore surrounding her (she literally started slaughtering jewish babies due to God s punishment for having bred with Lucifer once she was welcomed in Hell). I remember this conversation i had some years ago with this lady that was welcomed into the Jewish community, and she even told me that to this day is tradition by some families of the community to not name their child up until 8-15 days after she or he is born, in fear for Lilith to catch on it and try to snatch his Jewish soul, or something like this (I shall contact this person and ask again if I got the details right, but it was something in this direction).

This hurts my eyes wirh the animation. Its too much. I genuinely thought Lute was having a stroke the way she moves. Its far too much. I get it shes emotional, but she moves far to much for me to sink into how shes feeling and her thoughts on this as her face is not shown as much, its her bouncing around and darting like shes gotten into Adam's coke stash. Makes me kind of sick the amount of movement, and it makes her lose her humanity as she looks like shes too bouncy and unrealistic. It makes it uncanny to me.

Yeah, Vaggie was definitely intended to be just another Sinner but Viv took the popular fan theory of Vaggie being a former exorcist. Kind of like how she took "Charlie and Vaggie are girlfriends".

Anyway, when you look at the original pitch bible, the show starts out relatively the same; Charlie talks to the leader of the Exorcists and learns that extermination day will be coming sooner this year, while Vaggie is attempting to make a commercial to advertise the hotel. After that episode, that's when the show differs with the pitch being about the people from the hotel and the shenanigans that happen in Hell. The seemingly last episode for the season would have been Charlie meeting with her dad and the other deadly sins, instead of a battle with the exorcists.

Also Alastor isn't mentioned or seen in any of the pitch episodes (except for the one about the commerical), so supposedly he would have less focus on compared to the other characters. Hell, Nifty has an episode dedicated to her, which we don't get in the amazon version. Husk also would get an episode focus on him and his background; Baxter would be the one to join the hotel instead of Pentious; Mimzy would join the hotel after her introduction episode instead of fucking off; Katie Killjoy and Tom Trench would come to the hotel and do a surprise interview; and Sir Pentious would have tried to woo his crush Rosie with Charlie, Niffty, and Mimzy being his wingmen. While I can't confirm this would have been better than what we got, it would have been drastically different and I can't deny that I don't have some interest to see the original vision for this show.

It's even worse than that. Not only did she lose her boss which was probably the only person in Heaven to understand her, she lost her other teammates, her job, her only purpose for what she was most likely created to do, and no one in Heaven seems to care. They're only concern is this Sinner that got to Heaven which is the first time ever to have happened, and now that there will be an uprising from Hell because they now have confirmation they can kill angels, no one wants to do anything about it. Sera could even confirm this by looking at her magical floating orb but does because she's stupid.

Of course Lute is going to crash out. The one thing she has been trained all her life to prevent from happening is about to happen and no one wants to do anything about it.

I haven’t really read the comments but I’ve seen at least two replies being like “She was doing her fucking job as an angel killing demons” and “yeah I don’t feel sorry for the bastards in hell.”

Hazbin fangirls are literally so autistic that they don't understand that someone making a joke about liking a character because they're aesthetically cool isn't the same thing as supporting their actions.

"How dare the angel - our designated villain because our lovable rogue degenerate fag demons are the protagonists here - is rapidly losing her mind over grief for her hierarchal better that she must have trusted and very likely had feelings for being gone, all while the rest of Heaven is too weak-willed to do anything about it, wants to avenge him and end the demons that are now VERIFIABLY plotting to take over Heaven once and for all. How do we spin this as bad? Muh soggy knees, muh cide of geno, muh character traits written out by Vivzgoddess inspired by some ex of hers!"
The brain of this fandom hasn't been smooothed - it's been flattened the fuck out.
