Honestly, I'm kind of glad they didn't go down the route of "Val is abusive to Vox" because, not only do I know they would screw that up just like any other serious theme in these shows, but I just could never picture Vox being abused by Val. He seems like he's the one who has the power and control in this "relationship" and would nip it in the bud before even something like this could even happen.

I would say less nice, and more energetic, quirky, unhinged, pyscho. Think of Harley Quinn or Demencia. Especially Harley Quinn given the clown vibes.
Velvette looks surprisingly unattractive for a fashion mogul. Not just because she's dark skinned.
I don't think she was supposed to be part of the fashion industry originally. That was just added because...I honestly think Viv didn't know what to do with her initially. Velvette came in way later while the pilot was being made as we can see with her face being pasted over some random person in the overlord line-up in the final version.
She really went from psycho clown waifu to sassy ghetto girl boss.
Blitz wasn't even the one who really had the obligation there, and he's been Designated Asshole since the beginning. Anytime Blitz does something that isn't pure assholery is a step up from where he's supposed to be.
Ya know, call me crazy but Id prob like this version more. Her being a fashion bitch she really is one note with that, with this you could kinda play the idea of her coming up with much crazier schemes against the hotel or like being more casual. Like Vox is busy coming up with a scheme and Velvett treats it like a surprise party and already busy getting party props.
Kind of reminds me of this one fancomic I saw with the Vees.
That's not even a theory, legit it's the VA for that character who also wrote the short for the same character
Honestly, I kinda see Velvette as Vaggies polar opposite. Yes, she's evil and twisted under all her cheer. But! She has an easier time making friends, socialising and throwing huge and fun parties, even for people she will probably kill. Vaggie on the other hand, always gave an impression of an introvert with trust issues, and Charlie being the only person she can find comfort with. Which, would kinda of play into the idea of the Vee's being opposites to the main cast: Vox moved forward with time, while Al is stuck in the past. Vaggie isn't a social person, while Velvette is more cheery and friendly. Val enjoys power and using sex as means to hold control over someone, while Angel maybe wants pure affection and kindness from someone.
But... but... but he took her to an amusement park in one episode!
Yeah! Just disregard the fact that she didn’t even want to go there, and spent a whole lotta time harassing his boytoy. He’s just trying his best!
It would have been more fun to have the both of them as boy-crazy bitches, serving as another way Vox and Alastor mirror each by having a psycho sidekick.
They could have been another "two sides on the same coin kind of deal". They have similar doll-aesthetics, with Velvette following a dark, bright Gothic lolita style, and Vaggie following a pastel, full emo Kawaii style. Velevette acts friendly and cheery on the outside, but on the inside she's a manipulative bitch. And Vaggie while she has a cold and hard exterior is really a genuine nice person once you breakthrough. There was so much to do with these two characters but because I guess they're woman, Viv just decided not to.
That is actually a good idea. Even though Niffty is probably the only few characters I like that we got from the show, I'll be the first one to admit she got flanderized as Hell from her introduction. I know we didn't get a lot from her, but for me at least, she seemed to at least try to hide her unhinged side and present herself as polite to the others. Even if she was keeping herself together merely by a thread (pun intended).
