Suicide is expensive in Hell. The only way to die for good is via angelic steel. So you either have to stay free until Extermination Day or somehow get enough money to afford one of Carmilla's weapons.
And considering she has a monopol on that stuff, her prices are likely to be just shy of extortion.

Mimzie's design is so fucking bad. Literally just a fat white woman, I thought for sure she was Viv's self insert when she first appeared. The way the story suddenly bent around her the minute she appeared didn't help.

I do very much like that comparison. I actually did use this as a bit of a refrence to her redesign.
But, I didn't know how much I should push Mimzy. As she is so... Nothing. I felt like it might havs been too much if her crimes were tamer compared to the other demons I've done. Because at that point I feel like you would be signaling her out as the only fat one, to make her just a creature to be shot in the back of the head like an animal. My goal is the more monsterous the crimes are the more animal like they become. If they do things truly unforgivable, then they get warped alot more. (Valentino, Alastor, Vox.)
I totally agree. It would be funny if it was a Sinner scam where Sinners try to kill themselves, but because its not an angelic machine it temporarily kills them. They regenerate and want their money back but it states no refunds and that actually now they are in crippling debt. Wally Wackford could of patented that machine the old men in hell make.
But she's way too soft for that.

The only character this could really work with is Alastor. I'm surprised there isn't much in the way of 1920s rubber-hose Fleischer-cartoon style fanart or animations of Alastor.
Edit: after a quick google search it DOES exist, I'm just surprised I haven't seen more of it. I like this one of Husk as King Dice

I can kinda see what Viv is saying in her design being bird/chicken like. The feather like eyelashes, the hair feathers, the beak like nose, and her portly body maybe evoking the shambling gait a chicken, particularly a modern one raised for meat would have.
But I'm reminded of Marvel's villian the jackal. Tell me how does THIS:

Same design flaw with mimzy. Maybe a few superficial details like the ones I mentioned at best evoke "chicken" at least give her a feather boa, make her fingers more like talons, and give her tail feathers. Something that conveys chicken better...again how is Vivzie and spindlehorse so bad at conveying details in their work?....oh right because they're too busy waving the rainbow flags long after everyone else stopped caring. To focus on writing/character design.

The necklace doesn't even go around her entire neck wtf. I don't know what happened. She was much cuter in the pilot.
Granted almost everyone looked better in the pilot, so it's not just her.
Reminder, Beezlebub is supposed to look like a hybrid of a canine and a bee.
And this is the best that they come up with for that.
It's amazing how Viv'a character designs are over-detailed yet very basic.

How you would even make those two work together in the first place? Like aesthetics, humor, and influence wise Cuphead and Hazbin are day and night.
Just barely, and that comes more than not as a consequence of the cartoon industry castrating itself with beanslop and therapy talk, in a more healthy time the hellaverse would have stayed a niche internet thing.

As much cancer as it is, it is at least watchable. It's really like refreshing yourself with lukewarm beer after coming home. Better than nothing.
There's not much left in way of entertainment. Invincible is gay fest. The boys is a giant homo orgy. Death note is just ruined.

Unpopular but I like Queen Bee. She's colorful and the bee/fox hybrid thing makes her more visually interesting than most furrybait, and she looks great in motion IMO (if you listen closely, you can almost hear the animators weeping). I can take or leave the actual "Cotton Candy" song but I love everything else about that scene. She's just having a good time and she wants everyone else to have a good time, too.

And at least marvel kinda had the excuses of "oh crap we just killed off an iconic and fan favorite villian of our best selling franchise" (green goblin in the night Gwen Stacey died) and weren't ready to go the legacy character route with Harry taking up the mantle to serve as a substitute.
Hazbin and helluva are new ips and it's not like Viv needed a replacement substitute for any of these characters. Unless you count their pilot versions. AFAIK there was no time crunch either, hell I remember when this thread was sure hazbin hotel was doomed to be the half life 3 of animation. So it's not like they didn't have the time to fine tune the character designs.
I see WHAT their going for in beelzebub like with mimizy. Multiple arms, bug like antenna, black and yellow bee colors evoking a bee with fox like ears and a body. That would be somewhat forgivable IF they were on a deadline to produce content...or if these were the first drafts not the final versions.
Hey vivzie? You like to pretend you're still in high school at 30? Well here, I give your character designs a solid C- minus a teacher's note....Need's improvement.

I actually don' mind the design. I just don't think it fit for the character Beezlebub. When I first saw her, I literally thought she was some hellhound popstar; not the queen of Gluttony. I was also annoyed that Viv has to make a Twitter thread (again) to explain what she going for with the design since the show couldn't, you know, SHOW it itself. She's apparently supposed to represent a circus animal tamer 60s hippie party girl. Really? I don't even get any of the circus motif that is apparently supposed to be the main running theme for all the deadly sins.
There were a couple of redesigns of Bee posted here (one done by me and the other by (Re)Runner), and whether you liked it or not, at least we managed to portray what we wanted the character to be like. With Viv, it just seemed like she couldn't just admit that she just wanted Kesha's fursona in the show, and we as the audience are too stupid to actually see all these supposed finer details that went into it.

She only gets the circus tamer look durinh the trial, where she shocker is actually wearing the fitting outfit for that. Which is odd, because we see none of the other Sins change their clothes for the meeting EXCEPT Bee.

I get what you mean, but I think there's still plenty of neat stuff out there, old AND new. Don't settle for mediocrity if you don't have -or really want- to (then again we wouldn't be here if we really followed through with that, tbh). Just came out of watching stuff like Summit of the Gods and Future Boy Conan myself recently. Good shit.

I've often said...stick to the og comics when it comes to the boys. Say what you want about ennis being the "peak 2000s edgelord," but he had the balls to tell all the capeshit to fuck off a decade before it really needed to fuck off. The show and Indeed the franchise became the very corporate money making slop it once mocked.
And to stay on topic, Ennis' the boys is actually "edgy" not Vivian and spindlehorse's idea of safe "ooohh look a gay kiss!" Or "look a trans va voicing a trans character " and especially last months rainbow barf merch drop, version of edgy.
