Hazbin Hotel / Helluva Boss Thread - Now a Griefing Thread

You'd think with the fact that sinners can only stay in one entire ring (that eventually would cause an overpopulation issue, wow who would've guessed keeping billions of sinners in a single ring is a bad idea???)

Easily one of the worst things about Helluva Boss is how the gay drama has overshadow any other opportunity for Blitzo to interact with sinner clients dropping little tibbits of about the history of the ring and why things are the way they are now, not even the sins tease you with any kind of information is all always some little stupid song number about irrelevant relationship shit.

So much potential and all we got was a lackluster LA with a hell aesthetic. So much potential for explanations and explorations of the Pride Ring and only 0.00001% of the whole ring has been explored. What a waste of worldbuilding.

I've been seriously brainstorming my own version of the rings of hell because I cannot believe that having so many interpretations of it through human history, Viv, instead decided that generic_modern_city.jpg would be perfect as the base mold.

When she works at the hotel she gladly follows his orders becoming his most loyal lacky. And she begins to tempt people to kill and not hold their "demons" inside. As she cleans for the hotel she marks her "territory" by hanging up corpses of rodents and bugs that are infesting the hotel.

She is sent to prison, now with the taste of blood and killing she fights other inmates and is all around a problem prisoner, and keep her in solitary confinement where not even the bugs (her outlet) can get her. Eventually she goes insane and she kills herself.

When she was growing up she already had some psychological problems, her father and mother feared her as in her youth she killed insects and small animals. Yet is remarkably intelligent. She knows there's something different about her, but doesn't know what.

These three sentences alone made her more frightening of a character than Hazbin ever could try to. In the show she's nothing but a typical "crazy psycho gal" that you feel wouldn't be so different from the "crazy psycho gal" memes of the early 2010s. This one makes her actually relentless and shows she's far more than a psycho gal, that despite her bloodlust, there's a lot more to her than just being "stabby stabby stab stab" the character. Amazing job with the backstory and her redesign.

I didn't even know she was supposed to resemble a ladybug. I always thought they were going for roach as a way to indicate she's "unkillable" or something.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm overdoing it with the Stolas hate, but Helluva Boss fans prove that we need to hate on this owl more, just look at this thread

"IT'S ALL BLITZO'S FAULT" Ignoring that Stolas made it into an arrangement and usually keeps asking to sexually harass Blitzo even when he's busy at work or during family outings



Yet he humiliates her in public, and her anger really sprung up after he cheated on her, but not only that made it public knowledge. Not to mention did it in the bed she sleeped in. Not to mention cheating on her hurts Octavia living in a normal household, its one thing if he did it when Octavia moved out, but nope, he is hurting the development of his teenage daughter for imp dick.



He took her to an amusement park and spent most of his time flirting with his boytoy, and only apologized when she was obviously upset. Then when she ran away, he spent most of his time dicking around in Los Angeles and Loona had to find his damn daughter for him. FATHER OF THE YEAR!!!



Have you ever heard of "Making the best out of a bad situation", she was forced into an arranged marriage with a gay man who doesn't love her, and probably tolerated it until his affairs with a lower class imp were public.



Stella needing depth is fucking needed so Octavia doesn't look like a massive retard, and this is wrong because Stella has shown to at least care for her family in the past. Also serves her purpose yet is made into a retard to be sidelined so her evil brother can be the bad guy



Sure he faces consequences, but they're all going to get reversed especially when he never reflects on how his own behavior contributes to his actions.

Octavia is going to fucking forgive him in Season 3 and be okay with his relationship, he'd probably get his power back and even so, he is an immortal being who will get it back after 100 years (otherwise why would Andre be disappointed that it wasn't a lifetime sentence). There's also the fact he still has his lover he can dance and enjoy his time with especially with the season 2 finale being played up as a happy ending.



He actively ignores his daughter for sex, openly humiliates his wife which causes them to fight each other, and gaslights anyone to make them feel bad like saying Blitzo did nothing to help fight Striker despite him sending his employees to fight him. Yet Stolas doesn't appreciate shit from others.



"SHE'S EVIL BECAUSE SHE'S A RICH ARISTOCRAT IN HELL"

Yet Stolas is given sympathy despite also being a rich aristocrat, Vassago is treated as a good guy too despite also probably being rich, Asmodeus and Bee are also good guys despite being two of the top dogs in Hell, and fucking Lucifer is a nice guy too despite being the god damn Ruler of Hell.

This excuse is so fucking dumb and I don't need to say why.



People are allowed to criticize things. Just because a story can function doesn't mean its good. Stories are not god damn math equations.



Stella was fucking 10 years old and didn't consent to the marriage. Also again she was forced into marriage with a gay man who doesn't love her, which is just as bad as the other way around.



Even if Stella sexually abused Stolas, again she is forced in a marriage with a gay man and he also sexually abuses Blitzo regularly

Also people feel more bad because Vivzie repeatedly shoves his perspective down your throat so of course you fanboys would feel bad



Stolas abuses Blitzo regularly, treats his daughter like shit, and is a fucking cheater who is more powerful than his wife. Also what is this feminism bullshit



Yet you dismiss people feeling bad for Stella as ignoring how abusive she is



You basically implied Stolas is a sweet baby child whose a good guy



Stolas saw Blitzo as a sex object and treated him as such, he only ever suddenly saw him as an actual lover when he felt super lonely 7 episodes in the show, and mostly degrades him.

Will say it's really funny that Stella, Striker, and Satan barely had their designs changed, kinda just shows some of the designs needed minor tweaks.

I never got the fans accusing Stella of raping Stolas. If I remember correctly, she just said she had to do all the “work” herself. Which to me implies that Stolas was just laying there while she had to get him to finish. Because the whole point of their marriage was for them to have at least one kid. It’s not like they couldn’t not have sex, because then the rest of the family would be like “Ahem, where is baby?” Undoubtedly sucks for both of them, but I don’t think I’d call it sexual assault on either end.

Also given how Vivzie isn't subtle about her writing, she would've had Stolas pull the "rape" card on Stella to make her more hated.

Honestly I’m probably in the minority here but while I don’t mind heaven being evil. It could’ve been interesting to see the characters argue if one's crime (heaven and hell in this case) was somehow excuseable.

I know its been beaten to death as a topic but god the series doesn't show any decent examples of ppl wrongfully in hell.
Like you really expected people to give two shits about a murderer not getting into heaven.

Vaggie is probably the most wasted character of any of the major cast, on paper she has a good amount going for her, being the princess of Hell's girlfriend, has only been in Hell a couple years so could serve as an audience surrogate, and of course is secretly a former Exorcist who was one of the best ones according to Adam.

But in practice her relationship with Charlie is codependent as fuck (and no characters call her out on it, so I feel the writers might not even realize it given how unsubtle the show is), and her being a fallen Exorcist is literally just used to make Charlie angry at Vaggie for a single episode, the rest of the hotel nor Carmillia remotely give a shit that Vaggie has killed thousands of Sinners.

Said it before but the reveal of her being an exorcist should have been a mid season 2 twist, she's forgiven by Charlie rather quickly because Charlie is all about second chances, but characters like Angel, Husk, and Pentious treat her like the plague and it's not until the season finale do they begin to forgive her for the things she's done.

Vaggie fails as a Angelic character because Lute is just better than her in every way. If Vaggie was a sinner as in the pilot, I'd have no issue with her.

Would of been great if she did stay a prostitute that killed herself. Adding to the moral grey area. As killing yourself sends you to hell. It could of been that Vaggie being in that lifestyle causes her to internalize the abuse she had in her mortal life, that she thinks she's filthy. And that she even deserves to be punished for her sins she didn't really have a choice in. Charlie could see her as the reason why certain people don't deserve to be in hell, Angel could even have a dynamic where he hates her just because of how much she reminds him of himself currently. All of his bad decisions in life (a foil in a way), could call her a baby and be very hard on her because he doesn't want to confront that side of himself.

I dunno just a thought, I do think Viv sort of shoots herself in the foot with her melted Fujoshit brain.

I get so tired of people saying "Stella raped Stolas" because of the one comment she made at the party that he just stares at the ceiling doing nothing. This is not like your average marriage of having sex because both parties want to. This is an obligation because that's why they were arranged to be married in the first place; to produce an heir. I imagine if Stella didn't have an egg after a certain amount of time, the blame would be mostly put on her because that's as far as her usefulness is to the ars goetias.

And we can't say for sure how abusive Stella was during those 17 years of marriage because we barely see any of it. All we got is one moment of them in bed together when Octavia calls for them both, and the day before Stolas cheats on her. And the worst thing we see Stella do during that time is...make a few snarky remarks about Stolas. Wow, so abusive. I guess that makes the majority of marriages abusive because a spouse making an insult about the other is going to eventually happen; especially after 17 years of living together.

And don't come at me with Stolas saying he "tried to make their marriage bearable" and he had to "deal with Stella's constant cruelty and insults" becaue we know damn well Stolas is a very unreliable narrator and has a warped perspective on his life. Remember, this is the same man that decided to spend the majority of the day flirting with the guy he cheated his wife on, while he took his daughter out for it to be just the two of them.

It's funny how Helluva wants to have this constant theme of classism, yet Stolas, a character who clearly viewed Blitzo mostly as a living sex toy in S1 (up to referring to him as "My Impish little plaything"), is now just an uwu sad and lonely man who can do no wrong.
