I think my favorite of those redesigns is Alastor, it just feels; perfect? Original Alastor design is a mess of absolute edgelord who looks nothing like the deer motif he is supposed to mimic, he is just looks like he is trying too hard to be terrifying (which he isn't, hes a fraud who gets his power from a deal he has, hes all bark no bite). This Alastor doesn't look scary, he looks unsettling; thats the vibe he should give, especially if making a deal with him it supposed to be a huge-ass risk, he looks like the kind of guy who would backstab you the moment your usefulness ran out to him. Also him being an actual deer, thats what I imagined his design looking like as a sinner; it fits while maintaining the whole "radio" motif he has going on with his mic staff.

I'm also a huge fan of the Stella redesign, I don't remember what the original post said but the art alone makes it look like shes been given a more "tragic" vibe? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Narcissistic, nepto, victimizing, lying, can't ever take accountability,
This description fits so many HH/HB characters, you have to be very specific. (:_(Anyway, I really love all your redo/rewrite, I really like how every rings make imps look different, as like some kind of environmental factors of some sorts, crazy how you can have plenty of ideas and potential when your brain isn't fried on gay porn and yaoi.

Was not expecting my shitty little sketch to be amongst ReRunner's clean, colored redesigns but I appreciate it nonetheless.

I love watching blind Hazbin Reactions because honestly same 💀

Also wanna note the woman referring to Vaggie and Charlie as "friends" by accident because their chemistry as lovers is just NOT very apparent to an uninitiated audience...
"Ohh NO", as soon as the music starts, fucking kek

I was gonna comment something similar about the Alastor redesign, but I think what you say summarizes my feelings better than I ever could. Well done to the artist! :heart-full:

I really hope they give God the Sauron approach. A being never portrayed or present in the original trilogy yet always looming, scheming and driving the story through sheer menacing inevitability. One who cannot be bargained, bullyed or reasoned with.

Only submission is acceptable, and the offer is always on the table, that he might let you live if you comply.

Miss "soph", I have a song for you. And just for you!

That's very interesting... but dude, like- never heard of grey morality? yeah. Real shit bro. What if the world didn't have that black and white morality?

Thanks, didn't know @Re(Runner)48 edit Satan, need to also show these redesigns to my homies.

Pretty much what I mentioned here. No concrete identity, just an eldritch cosmic being whose presence is incomprehensible to mortals.

Yeah, you could do so much cool shit with that; like, maybe it's the reason why Lucifer acts so forgetful at times – he saw the wrathful True Face of God when Eve was tempted into eating the Apple, and the sight was so horrific Lucifer's mind basically tore itself apart trying to suppress the memory

The show wanting to do that like...
Emily in episode 6: How can I bring joy when I now know we are bringing misery to thousands of innocent people?

This what really bugs me, like okay let's spitball and say there's four-five people that have a chance of redemption: Snake boi, Angel Dust, Husk (by his old backstory, fuck I know what it's now), Vaggie (if we go by her old backstory) and maybe let's add Baxter just for good measure. So, five people in total have a chance for redemption, compared to fuck knows how many serial killers, murders, rapists, and etc. Heck, why in the seven circles off hell is there a cannibal town and why do all the people in it dress like they're from the 1912 era? Was this some law passed by Rosie? Why? Is it because she died in that era and was a cannibal? Why are there so many cannibals to begin with?

I'm more conflicted on the fact that there's not countless subcategories of towns and cities pertaining to certain groups of sinners. You'd think with the fact that sinners can only stay in one entire ring (that eventually would cause an overpopulation issue, wow who would've guessed keeping billions of sinners in a single ring is a bad idea???), there'd be countless sub communities everywhere Charlie would look. There'd be varying infrastructure, types of sinners, the huge variety of cultures that would develop within hell itself. So much potential and all we got was a lackluster LA with a hell aesthetic. So much potential for explanations and explorations of the Pride Ring and only 0.00001% of the whole ring has been explored. What a waste of worldbuilding. What a waste of building in general because Vivziepop wanted to indulge in her High School Musical fantasies rather than make an actually unique take of hell and its citizens.

Redo

Niffty

Not too much to say, don't really care too much about her. Nor do I have any attachment to her character, as she's sort of a nothing burger. Both pilot and show wise. I do like the idea of her being the Charlie (IAS) of the group showing off the more gross and unstable side of sinners. So it gives me as a viewer/writer/artist of why?

Why is she like this?

I don't think Viv thought too much of her, and with the little information she gave could actually be interesting. If only she didn't crumble to pissbabies and change it again.

1950's Japanese murderous housewife. I'm only going to critique the show as in the pilot she is somehow less important.

Old
Really flat and uninspired colors
Also has the red cheeks makes me think she's related in some way to Charlie/Lucifer.
Her outfit blends too much into her limited color palette
Stole her Asian heritage (why do people of color in this show literally become ashy or white? Is color not allowed in heaven or hell?)
Her bangs don't fit the time period
Ladybug is what she's suppose to be...WHAT?

New
She has her old skintone and I gave her some slight yellow skin, not because she's Asian but she's based on both the yellow again ladybug, and American ladybug. It adds more into her blending into her new surroundings (as a Japanese immigrant)
Added ladybug features (Antenna eyelashes, Lady bug arms, her stocking and gloves are actually apart of her and are buglike.)
Her fingers are long, pointy sewing needles as well as her teeth.
Her lady bug patterns are from blood of hellspawn and sinners, adding to her unhinged nature and to give ladybug spots.
Changed colorscheme, dress, and hairstyle.
Her makeup smears of her crying with her single eye drip down her lips.

Story wise

She is still a Japanese woman.

When she was growing up she already had some psychological problems, her father and mother feared her as in her youth she killed insects and small animals. Yet is remarkably intelligent. She knows there's something different about her, but doesn't know what.

During her teenage years she would get into fights with other schoolchildren. People often made fun of her small stature, so that made her feel that she had to prove herself more.

Becomes a delinquent early on with all of her fights. Eventually because of her disobedience her family disown her.

Now that there's nothing for her in Japan she leaves to America trying to start a new life. A few years later she meets an American veteran who she married, hiding her inner darkness. With cleaning, torturing bugs and pests, and cooking. Though she often asks what it was like to kill someone, and other creepy red flags.

Pearl harbor happens. Her and her husband are seen as possible terrorists (racial profiling) and her life here is ruined, her husband who gave his life for his country is heartbroken and begins to drink. He begins to abuse Niffty and hits her, Niffty only takes this a few times and plans to get rid of him before she kills him in his stabbing him with a knife she stages the scene to be where she looks like she's defending herself. The police however do not see it like that.

She is sent to prison, now with the taste of blood and killing she fights other inmates and is all around a problem prisoner, and keep her in solitary confinement where not even the bugs (her outlet) can get her. Eventually she goes insane and she kills herself.

In hell she comes back free, her inner darkness now fully takes over. She kills hellborn and sinners feeling so alive. She eventually tries to take on an Exorcist, but fails miserably

Alastor meets her while she's hurt, and promises her that he'll keep her alive and still fighting all she has to do is serve Alastor and she can kill as much as she wants. Niffty later becomes infatuated with Alastor who she views as completely understanding and accepting her.

When she works at the hotel she gladly follows his orders becoming his most loyal lacky. And she begins to tempt people to kill and not hold their "demons" inside. As she cleans for the hotel she marks her "territory" by hanging up corpses of rodents and bugs that are infesting the hotel.

She doesn't associate with other guests too much, often talks to herself or the corpses. Alastor invites her for tea parties, and he feasts on deer in front of her. He himself is also quite comfortable with Niffty.

As always

But this is a master story telling, just like a subversion of tropes in ASOIAF. One is geared for intellectual men and these for teenage girls that would go "dum xtians lol xd" (sarcasm, of course).

I know right. When will we see a high tech place... or a me-DIE-val place, which should be taken over by gangsters since better firearms and such.

Seeing Nifty with normal proportions is very refreshing, I had no idea she was supposed to be a housewife, I always thought she was just some insane little girl.
