Not everything has to be shipping fuel. I mean Alastors Ace and she's Bi. People can just enjoy it as a story, instead of lowest common denominator gooner bait. Charlie redo already looks like a child's doll, and Alastors just straight evil like he's been "shown" to be.
Since we are sharing our grievances with the way series Charlie is portrayed, I want to share a pet peeve of mine:
To be fair, my problem with most Viv designs are that, she rely's on double meaning then just making a simple design.
It was obvious from the beginning that the pilot's animation was going to be pared down and cleaned up a lot if the series ever got picked up, and some of the fun visuals were never going to be in a modern animated series due to budget constraints. But, I agree with your assessment of it wrt Charlie, and after reading your post wish that they had allocated money/time/effort to the animation and physicality of the fucking MAIN CHARACTER at the expense of other aspects of the show, doesn't even matter which ones because I bet there's some pointless background rendering vs. 2D drawing or some voice actor or some wasted time designing outfits for Carmilla that could have easily been dropped to instead put work into the development of the Homer Simpson of the series.
I think it is more due to the nature of it being picked up by Amazon. Since Amazon would probably cheap out and the animation studio that does a lot of the work for Hazbin's series is the same that does Bob's Burgers. Which Hazbin Hotel is not poorly animated, but I feel it would have more potential if it had the same treatment Helluva Boss has since that show has better animation.
Forgive me, but I like this guys content. I love Blackisssh. Personally I find him funny, dudes unironically makes Viv's stuffs better in the review.
I already watched his video on how awful Helluva Boss is, and I loved it. Sometimes it’s just fun listening to a dude ramble unscripted about shit.
Something something ace people can also date which...never made sense to me but whatever. Anyway what I meant was, for me personally, it was less about their supposed possible romance, and more on the fact that they were very similar to each other even with their differing word views. Not only is this shown in the pilot, but you also see it being portrayed in merch when it's the two of them or they are in the same line. It's more of a shame that we didn't get that portrayel in the actual show itself.
It's because the Amazon show's animation is more crisp and stiff, while the pilot's animation is softer and more fluid. The pilot's faces would sometimes add lines around the eyes and mouth to show expression on a character, but usually to show an extreme emotion. In the actual show, the characters can't naturally be as exaggerative so they have to rely on the extra lines to show any emotion on a character.
His reviews have made me laugh more than both Hazbin and Helluva put together, so that's a win in my book.
I'm wondering how S3 of Helluva can fuck things up even more, there's still a couple characters that miraculously managed to slip through S2 relatively unscathed such as Octavia.
Its quite simple
Show!Charlie looks way more evil than Pilot!Charlie if you ask me. It's an odd design choice to draw attention to her eyes and fangs.
I'd love to see an exploration of how much the weight of being the First Man and all that entailed fucked with him, especially combined with the fact that Abel is a main character in S2.
