They are 2 seasons too late to develop characters and worldbuilding, the literal tumor that is the gay drama is the main plot point so that's something you can't unfuck as easily swapping a lightbulb.
MAYBE Viv could fix her shit and writing by coming out with a good story arc, but she doesn't need to just pull out her A game, she needs to overcompensate for 2 seasons of nothing and make people actually interested for the story and characters aside of the most superficial level shit like the design and sexual identity.

So, the cultists summons moxy against his will and he's forced to serve the cult, as a result, the goal of the other 3 demons (gay imp, loona and the moxy's wife) shift to his rescue for the whole story arc, use the lack of a character to explore the others and their chemestry with each other and most prominently... What's the name of the female one? milien? Her name is milien, right?

With moxy is gone, we explore milien as a character as the 3 starts taking shit seriously and investigate the cult and fight the cultists, alongside a moxy who's either brainwashed or unable to resist the orders of his captors, we can also add a ticking clock in the form of moxy gradually losing his identity and have his memories fading away as he spends time outside hell, with the visula indication of slowly turning from bright red to grayscale, all with the sake to ramp up drama and put milien under stress and push the others to rescue him.
We keep jokes and snark and yap yaps to the bare minimum, extremely rarely made to break the mood and more as a way to cope with the stressful situation by a single member and adressed, not 4th wall breaking adressed or middle of battle adressed, seriously adressed, either outside or before a mission, completely avoiding any marvel humour bullshit.
We build up on the tension until the climax where milien has to fight a demented moxy who stops himself from killing her at the last second, just in time for the others to break the contract and releas him, and then those two have to fight the final horde of cultists and either their newly ascended leader or another summoned demon that was freshly called or was already there before moxy.
After the fight, we get a sad epilogue with the trio standing in front of a comatoes moxy, he has most likely forgotten his own identity, his skin is now permanently turned greyscale, his wife trying everything to wake him up for a while, and we eventually end the season with him waking up and set up an actually good cliffhanger to make people look for the the next season: yes, he did forget who he was, but this also caused memories of a past life, when he was a human to emerge, something that should be complety impossible, considering that he's an imp and all that, but provides intrigue for the next season, the kind of stuff that can make the writers look for moxy and his family's origins, or explore the true nature of imps, if they have a soul and their origins.

Actual drama, some stakes, moments for the characters to be somber and competent, as well as explore and expand on characters that aren't her confort gay demons and add/adjust some of the worldbuilding and even space to make an actual villain, instead of le evil wife.
