Doesn't Hayden need Trey Parker and Matt Stone's permission to modify that image if he's going to be making money off of it?
I will admit I'm not that knowledgeable about law, but I'd assume he'd try to claim it was parody to get away with it, but even then I doubt it would ever be successful enough for Stone and Parker to really give a shit.

Well that confirms that.

He says, as asks are already directed at him, not his """"""fans""""""and he is responding not from his "real profile" but from the Gen Zed profile, as opposed to his Twitter account. Not everyone has a Tumblr account Black.

Also, according to Black you need balls to send asks using your Tumblr account. How sexist of you Black.

By fans, you mean NiceguyEddie?

Also, you're right, Hayden. We don't have the balls, anymore.

We can defrost Greenland with Hayden's salt.

So I decided to make a diagram to explain Hayden's commercial process

I think it's quite accurate.

Notice that much of it resembles your standard low budget production. The main difference lies in marketing and intent. Hayden spins the deliberately botched, cash-starved production into money, exposure and potential marks for his new project and skims cash and ego for himself.

The only production that doesn't follow this formula is goodnight burbank. Many versions of it exist and it did make it onto a network (regardless of how poor a host it was or for however little time). On the other hand GB's premise could have been milked many times and Hayden could have gotten 'lucky' with the network pickup.

True, but unlike your run-of-the-mill Deviantart hack Hayden is suppose to be producing something on a professional level (Pew Pew). So stealing and modifying a likely copyrighted image, even if it's for a show that will never see the light of day, to make a buck off of it might just get the notice of a lawyer or two.

That and Trey and Matt both love to mock the tumblr/sjw crowd.

I haven't checked on this for a while, but looks like Hayden is still using the "Shona is the first trans lead" crap?
You know, for something to be taken into consideration, that something has to be published first. Someone should point that to "Shona" whenever that answer comes up again. Content that only exists in your head doesn't mean anything in the real world.

It just baffles the mind to see how Hayden treats this garbage as if it was already completed, shipped and popular after this long. Even Sonichu is more "real" than Gen Zed is, at least it has comics and a small following even if ironic. Hell, even Revolution 60 is more tangible, and most of us know how that's doing.

You'd thinking surprised Gen Zed isn't just about 4 "famous" Twitter users that decided to live together. But I guess you couldn't make GamerGate jokes and include the mysterious super special awesome gamer Hayden Black Quilliam, now could you?

I actually am surprised Hayden didn't include himse- Quilliam as the king of Twitter.

GNB had a long history, but only a small part of it was picked up by the network.

It started in 2006, and there were lateer seasons called GNB: Breaking news (ca. 2007-8) and GNB: Hollywood report (ca. 2009).
These were web-only, and they were apparently hosted on Babelgum at one point. Babelgum's dead now, and I haven't found these vids anywhere- all that remains is a 17-second teaser.

The 2011 series, the one that did air on TV, is the last avatar of the series.
It consists, in its entirety, of one season with six episodes that were apparently filmed and aired in very quick succession.
It was originally commissioned by Hulu, but it's no longer available there for some reason. After airing on the web, a TV channel decided to buy the first season and ran it once.

Hayden himself said the network had dropped the show after the first season, allegedly because they'd changed their programming orientation- a blatant lie, a was discussed here and here. He supposedly talked to other networks, but nothing came out of it and the new version of GNB came to an end after a glorious six episodes.

So Hayden did milk the premise many times. I don't know if he himself gave up on it or if he just couldn't find people willing to work on it anymore. My money's on the second option.

And as I said before, considering the time theat elapsed between GNB and Gen Zed as well as the latter's much smaller scale, it seems Hayden's scheme yields diminishing results.
He might've banked on his reputation as a "web pioneer" back in the 2000s, but now he's a has-been and no one cares about webseries that were made in 2006.
He couldn't get any big names for Gen Zed like he did for his previous show. Most of the people on GZ are cucks who do it for free nobodies desperate enough for any kind of job in the industry that they'll take anything, even of they don't get paid. And the budget is dismal.

I don't think Hayden's going to be able to run this scheme much longer. Maybe that's why hes so aggressive- reeks of desperation.
