I know this is a bit late, but when I was at the panel and asked the simple question "What do you say to people who say you are merely capitalizing on your status of having a transgender actress?" Black got pissed and gave me his rehearsed answer about it only being mentioned one minute into the show and then said "You can go tell that to your little friends on 4chan or whatever."

Funny how defensive his response seemed. If he was trying to convince others that he DIDN'T just have a trans actress there for monetary gain, he's doing it wrong.

Animator should be redpilled as soon as possible IMO. Sure you could say it's his own mistake doing hard job practically pro-bono, but I've been there. I've been told I should do shit (and I did shit for free) for exposure, but I noped away from it really quickly. If you're not seeing a dime from your work while it's being heavily marketed that's a big fucking red flag there. No amount of exposure trough disgrace and embarassing shit such as Gen Zed is worthy of your effort you place in. If animator of said show sees this thread by any chance, ABANDON THE SHIP MAN. IT'S. NOT. WORTH. IT. I know I wouldn't have Gen Zed on my resume that's for sure. Anyone with two solid brain cells in his brain should abandon the ship.

I know you guys ripped apart this show's animation and style apart, but seriously, what do you expect when even animator is doing it free? When I watched GenZed promo, I had really hard time, because honestly, animation isn't that horrid, and neither are the character designs , what made it absolutely horrible is amount of ego and shitty marketing tactics to make a quick buck. AND HORRIBLE WRITTING. Modern age classic? Bitch you don't make a modern classic, it becomes apparent with AGE. Like a fine wine.

I'm sure Hayden has augmented his jenkem budget with the merch bucks from the five or six shirts or whatever they've sold.

Well I missed something lulzy. I'll only just state that this is what you get when you don't pay your fucking team and shill sketchy merchandise with no actual product Hayden Black. You get this shit.

Two things:
1. I do get doing pro-bono, especially if you like to do something as a hobby and it isn't your livelihood. However, if this is your dream job and what you want to do, for the love of Batman, ask for a contract in writing and a check. Producers come in all stripes and forms, and you'd be shocked at how many projects you do for free become vaporware and never show or how they try to backstab you and silently shove you out into the void.

2. The animation is pretty fucking bad though; clipping and layering was very apparent throughout and the frames were on par with Korean sweatshops. I don't blame him fully however; not being paid for this by a boss who is apparently an egomaniac as well as incompetent to boot is awful and I don't blame him for not trying. Doubly so since I bet Hayden forced him to animate via photoshop, which by the way is both hard as shit and inefficient to boot. ToonBoom or Flash is far nicer to play with. I also reckon the shit character designs were also entirely picked out by Hayden, as he has no design ethos.

I wouldn't be shocked if the reason there's delays is that he's not doing it or quit under the situation.
