Conservative talk radio played that clip of Piker claiming that the Republican party is "the most damaging" party in the world, and that there's "rising fascist movement" in the USA. Assuming Mr. I-Stay-At-The-Only-Hotel-With-Power-In-Cuba wasn't just straight-up lying then, I suppose the more sane politics can look that way if one's loony left.

I actually read Einstein's letter about the foundation of Israel long before I myself became a Zionist and when I first heard people claim that Einstein was anti-Zionist I was genuinely confused. Someone had to really go out of their way to read anti-Zionist sentiments into that letter. He literally says, "Judaism owes a great debt of gratitude to Zionism", he's not remotely subtle.
In this case though, you can't put the blame on Piker. He's just repeating something that someone else (who in turn probably heard this misinformation from yet another person who never read Einstein's own words) told him about Einstein, it's not as if he would question something that lines up with his preconceived notions

The last thing I'll harp on is this. Hasan has started developing the skill of Masking. When he goes on podcasts like Pod Save America, where he's talking to an audience of Gen X liberals or when he's at the University of Michigan talking to relatively left leaning students, he puts the "All I want is universal healthcare, bro!" mask on.
He did break the trend slightly by serving up this clip to the GOP and every Republican media platform on the planet by letting the mask slip a bit on Pod Save (with a bit of ideological dress-up) and saying he'd vote for Hamas, however, which did get picked up by conservative media (which I assume is the intention):
He dropped a juicy enough quote, but stopped short of going into how Hamas deserves the right to rape Israeli women because they're oppressed.
If the Dems want to win in 2028, it's extremely important for them to keep themselves as far the fuck away from this moron as possible. He WANTS to be a millstone around the Dems' neck. He's actively bragging about his engagement numbers and trying to astroturf himself into party:
He's trying to get himself on Fox News and anything related to Big Con media to boost his profile and force himself into the Dem's national brand by feeding them juicy clips to play during the Midterms to paint Dems as insane tankies like him:
If the Dems win while associating with him, he thinks that'll give him legitimacy and proof that his ideas work. If the Dems lose while associating with him, he gets another 2-6 years of free Republican content to whinge about on stream.
Ultimately, Hasan's larger goal is to ensure Israel remains the most important topic on the left. As long as Israel is relevant as a purity test, he's relevant. Whether that means he gets a socialist with no policies beyond punishing Israel or a Republican who fellates Israel into office, he needs something to make money off of.

The Michigan Democratic Primary is in August, and Hasan's fans are pulling the same shit they did with the IL-09 race, trying to smear a lifelong progressive (Mallory McMorrow/Daniel Biss) as an evil AIPAC money-taking Genocide Jew while propping up the nearest sacrosanct arab socialist (Kat Abughazaleh/Abdul El-Sayed). Their rhetoric will only get more and more hostile, aggressive and vile as the race gets closer.
