Hasan is coping HARD about Biss beating Kat.
Of course the first thing he blames it on is AIPAC spending:
He's even retweeting Ryan Grim, someone who tried to sabotage Kat's campaign by smearing her as a far right neocon warmonger over her takes on honoring our agreements with Ukraine and Taiwan:
Then he wrote this fucking wall of cope
Never fucking forget that Hasan, Ryan Grim, etc all treated Daniel Biss as "AIPAC's candidate". Had he lost, they would've been spamming TrackAIPAC graphics and gloating about how totally epically owned Israel was by his loss.
(Note that none of this guy's money actually comes from AIPAC btw, it came from J-Street, the progressive Jewish pac in favor of a ceasefire in Gaza. AIPACTracker just lumps the two together whenever they want to try and throw dirt on a Dem they want to tank in a race against a Leftist.)
Hasan's editor Ostonox is fucking seething even more:
This one is extremely funny, Kat's team resurfaced a story on the literal last day of the election accusing Biss of rape for "making out" with a
21-year-old former student of his back when he was teaching a course at the University of Chicago back in 2004, TWENTY TWO FUCKING YEARS AGO:
Biss was
26 years old. The relationship started long after the course had ended and he broke it off quickly after coming to the realization that it didn't feel right to date a former student.
I was about to edit my previous post to remark further that he really is a single-issue voter (lol, imagine Hasan voting) about Israel. Two hours of election results coverage and it's literally the only thing he could talk about. He's the sort that I describe as Israel First.
So much of the Online Left genuinely believe that AIPAC and the Israel-Palestine war is a top, election deciding issue, when in reality I doubt it even registered in the top 30 issues for voters. The only reason AIPAC is even a talking point amongst the Online Left is to act as some form of ideological purity test.
Leftists the likes of Kat Abughazaleh can't stand out from normal progressive liberals because they agree on 90% of the same issues, the only difference is that people like Kat slap the "socialist" label on themselves and attempt slopulist pandering wherever they can. By trying to use one's position on Israel/Palestine as a wedge issue, they think that that's the east cheat code option to show how Leftier-Than-Thou they are in comparison.
It's a pretty dirty tactic especially in this race since Daniel Biss is a Jewish man born to two Israeli jews who moved there and were raised in Israel after its establishment, meanwhile Kat Abughazaleh is a half-Palestinian woman who ran on nothing but opposing AIPAC. Going by the Twitter Leftist theory of politics (every voter is secretly on the far fringe left and the Democrats are far right neocon nazis trying to keep the TRUE left down), tying him to AIPAC should've made this election a layup.
However, Biss is the current mayor of Evanston, IL and has a high approval rating, while Kat is a Texas transplant who's barely lived in the state for a year, so it was obvious to anyone with eyes could see him beating her resoundingly from a mile away.
Hasan, Ostonox, and every other Twitter Leftist basically has to give spiral themselves into Anti-Cope mode, they
need to convince themselves that Biss winning was the worst possible option, otherwise they'll have to come to the reality that progressive politics can come in more flavors than BernieBro Twitter slopulism, and that maybe they have more in common with politicians like Biss who have progressive values despite having "establishment" aesthetics.
Of course, as leftists are always graceless in both victory and especially in loss.
Kat ran on nothing but Palestine and AIPAC, even in her concession "speech" on Twitter she ends it off with fucking Palestine.
She'll never understand that maybe THIS is why she lost the election. So much of her rhetoric is focused on a thousand-year-old ethnic conflict being fought 5000 miles away in the middle east rather than things like affordability,
She never tells her voters to support Biss against the Republican in the general election, nor does she congratulate him on his win like a normal politician would.
No, she lost the race that she felt entitled to, in a district she doesn't live in, so now she doesn't have to care about supporting the best possible choice for her supposed constituents. It doesn't matter if a Republican wins or not, burn it all down, she doesn't care. Fucking spoiled child bullshit.
The worst part about this all is that there won't be any self-reflection. It's not that she lost because she was too laser focused on Palestine instead of issues that actually affect/matter to Illinoisans, no! It must have been because the evil AIPAC wanted to spite her for being a pure-hearted Palestinian woman.
