There's a famous tumblr fake story where the teacher makes the class use a student's name as a pejorative in order to teach a lesson about why using gay as a pejorative is wrong; at first it seemed harmless, the kid even joined in on it, but by the end of the week it was obvious that people were projecting the hate they felt when they used his name onto him. The story is fake, but it illustrates the left's feelings on turning innate characteristics into pejoratives, so when there is this active attempt to do it on such a large scale it does feel like there is genuine genocidal intent.

I don't disagree but Hasan is a cultural muslim at best. He also comes from one of the most secular (if not the most, despite Erdogan trying to change that for years now) muslim countries. The current wave of Israel hate is much more of a lefty thing than it is a muslim thing, hardcore anti-zionism has been a point of contention between left extremists and the more moderate lefties in my country (the country where the concept of Antifa was initially thought up) since the 80's, if not even before that.
