I'm the type of person I feel somewhat bad when I use a spray bottle on my cat when he's doing negative behavior and the only justification I can see for a dog using a shock collar is a perimeter fence and they're digging underneath the fence, still it's not something that makes me happy.

I know someone who bought a designer breed puppy, returned it because it was too energetic, bought the same kind of designer puppy a few months later and named it the same name as the first one, then spent 5k on a trainer it (i.e.: had it live with a trainer for months so he didn’t have to do any of the work), and the dog still doesn’t behave because he doesn’t keep up with the training now that the dog lives with him. Plus, now it has anxiety because the trainer who it lived with for its first months of life isn’t around. Some people just get pets because they want an accessory or toy and don’t respect that it’s a living thing

Reminds me of a guy I knew back in college who was also a spoiled nepotism baby like Hasan. He really wanted a Maine Coon because “they looked cool” and was insistent on finding a breeder so he could have it. Because he told me he was going back to his home country after finishing his studies. I asked what he was going to do with the cat when he moved back. Crickets.

He also had a few cats at home. When I asked why he couldn’t just bring one of them if he wanted a cat, still crickets.

Just like Hasan and his designer dog, dude just wanted a cool looking toy to play with and discard when he didn’t want it anymore.

Don't be shocked if right wing pundits come out saying the evidence is not definitive, and/or say "even if it is true, this is normal training!." The best we're likely to get (and its still a maybe) is a long grilling by H3 and fringe tubers. I would really, really like to see him get knocked down more than a peg or two, but I'm still sitting on the side of doubt.

Rate me with rainbows, and I'm usually very cynical myself, but I think this one might stick. Cute animals are the third rail of the Internet. The roach touched the rail and now he gets fried. In the clip with the woman talking about the dog's collar, and the clip with Kaya's yelp, Hasan lies with ease and incredible alacrity. Lying is completely natural to him, and we're in for a stunning show if his handlers decide to go down the gaslighting path for this.

The dog seems to be bit broken. She is a chow chow/Tibetan cross in her make-up, which are just about as fierce, stubborn, and tough as a dog can get. She has been bred to be more gentle than pure examples of her lineage. She is completely helpless against that collar, and it has been used liberally. Doubt she has it in her to snap. If Hasan liberally used a shock collar on a sensitive breed like a Lab or golden, the dog might piss itself from a sidelong glance. Kaya had clearly regained some of her guardian spirit during Hasan's absence (much to his dismay,) and I hope the animal gets some freedom to live in a way that satisfies her need for independence before she's totally sullied.

I mean it's a generalization that fits. You ask anyone that served in the ME, same shit. Treated like dirt. Hasan kept up the facade for looks, but everything points to him having that shock collar for a while. He should have just gotten an inflatable dog or a cardboard cutout if he didn't like dogs, but no, he wanted status.

Also, the collar has electronic housing on the side with a blinking light on it. Either it is a pet tracker or a shock collar, but given how the dog randomly reacted in pain, it is a safe bet it is the latter.
