Call me nigger-coded but music is something we all hold somewhere in our souls. It is an intrinsic and atavistic part of the human experience. We all jive to the beat (of our mother's heart and then our heart) of life from practically the moment of our conception to the end of our lives whether we know it or not. Music is just another form of communication, that I think complex language probably sprang from, which allows us to be the highly successful social animal that has become the apex lifeform on this planet thanks to being able to share complex ideas from one generation to another.

Now you might not seek it out all day everyday but to say that you don't like music at all flat out? That shit ain't human.

In the western tradition, art is something that likely sprung from religious gatherings. As part of a communitarian religious worship, activities we now associate with leisure would be performed, like visual and aural artistic works. It was a way to participate in the ineffable.

Hasan not being interested in music to any extent is a sign of a serious disconnect with what it means to be human. He really is an NPC.
