My main issue with halo 4 (Besides the retconning lore rape) is how after the prometheans are introduced you are effectively forced to use the dogshit forerunner weapons. Using Human/Covenant weapons puts you at a disadvantage as you are going to be starved for ammo after an encounter or two. The prior games pride themselves on their weapon sandbox yet they dropped the ball hard here. It makes the last level in particular a boring slog to play and really highlights how the two levels on human installations are the most fun.

Just finished Halo 4. I'm so glad John was able to accept his autism at the end of it all.
RIP Cortana and 343's attempts to set up villains in 4 and 5 only for them to disappear forever off-screen.
Someone learned the wrong lessons from the Halo books, its one thing to build a world, its another to make characters be essential and build them up in the books, then kill them off in the books or in the first three minutes of the game and leave you trying to figure out what the actual fuck is going on.

I was always in the camp that believed bungie never liked the halo books.
I mean they confirmed it awhile back. Again, it's why Halo: Reach pretty much completely disregards the original fall of Reach book.
I think if I remember right they weren't even written with Bungie's involvement either which probably didn't help.

Last resort is actually the same shit everytime on MCC.

How much Spartans do you think are able to shoot freely into the spawn from this picture? SPOILERS ITS 4. I think my bi monthly replay of halo 3 multiplayer is over. Like I know I’m sounding like a bitch but what else do you do on this ball skinning match.

Yeah no, I agree with you. It's part of why I tend to avoid PvP in games late into their life once all the casual players leave because this happens in pretty much every game with PvP where there's always going to be the no fun faggots who optimize all of the fun out of the game. They will use everything they can from glitches, map knowledge, ect, ect. Their job is to make sure you do not get to have fun and that's it.

Rather than complain about it however I just choose to not engage because it's really the only way to win. The only winning move is not to play. Once all the casual players leave they're usually the only ones left. And if they aren't, they'll quickly drive out the rest.

Why does no one ever mention how 343 has fucked the game balance in the campaigns and fucked around with the ai in the older games in the MCC?
I don't really remember major differences since it's been so long since I played through the games on original hardware, but part of me wonders if there are problems due to the frame rate increase from 30 FPS in the originals to 60+ in MCC. When the AI has more opportunities per second to locate you and attack, that can radically change how encounters play out. Tying things to frame rate can really fuck with things if you're able to boost it beyond the original intent.

Jackal snipers suck no matter what, though.

Honestly the most fun thing you can do in halo pvp is just abuse the teamkilling and damage system, you'll get some real funny reactions occasionally and make a match end quickly if it's already going bad so you can quickly move on to another and hope it's less shit
yea it's dickish but so is being punished for leaving a match you're clearly not having fun when one person is getting themselves killed over and over while the other two are just afk and you're being spawnkilled

That would be my guess since I know there are certain speedrun glitches that only work on the original version BECAUSE of the framerate and since 30 FPS isn't an option in the MCC those glitches simply aren't possible so it wouldn't surprise me if the 60 FPS framerate affected other small things like that.

in CE sometimes if you goad a teammate into shooting you and then blow yourself up with a grenade later it will count as a betrayal from them

I believe the plasma rifle, turrets, and ghost shoot twice as fast in Halo 2 vs MCC.
