I never had much issues with the writing off reach except perhaps a lack of a narrative until the very end besides the invasion of Reach.

My issue with the reach campaign is pacing and the scenario designs.

Like why spend all that time building up to the Covenant reveal and then just have them appear in front of a building like it's nothing?

Too few moments where it feels like an actual war. You'll have a cutscene with a big engagement, but then you get to play and it's back to just you and a spartan ally taking on a few squads of covenant.

Speaking of Spartan allies, there were too few moments where the team actually fought together as a team. You usually only got one ally per mission, and it made it very obvious once someone were on the chopping block because of extended time on screen.
If more of the team appeared per mission we might have started to care for them when the inevitable happens.

Still have no idea how Bungie managed to make a lot of better and bigger engagements for Halo 3 and Halo 3 ODST.
Two scarabs dropping down from orbit as you've got a big team of hornets and scorpions charging is a bit more climatic than shooting a big gun at phantoms slowly filtrering in and a slow moving cruiser

Yeah, fair criticisms tbh.
The plot was more or less just "Defend Reach" until they realized that wasn't going to work.
There definitely should have been more teamplay however. It's weird too because they clearly have a squad system programmed into the game that you clearly see when the soldiers join up with you. Tbh, they should've done something more like Republic Commando where you work with and command your team to do shit. In that case the game probably would've worked better if you took the place of Carter.

The covenant "Reveal" also did feel kind of limp. It'd be one thing if they just started out with it, but with the buildup they created it just feels odd.

I am legitimately surprised we've never gotten a proper successor to that game. You could even modernize it to have drop-in 4p co-op on account of the squad setup.

The scarab battles were some of the my favorite moments in Halo 3, so it was disappointing that we never got a proper one in Reach, just teases with them throughout the campaign.

I wish more people would play MCC instead of dooming over Infinite, theres still a sizeable amount of people playing both campaign and multiplayer as well as fantastic mod support on PC, plus while I doubt Halo 7 will be much of an improvement from Infinite but you never know how they would react to MCC blowing up again, especially since MS basically gutted 343's leadership for being stuck up their own ass.

A lot of guys here are mostly single player/PVE fellas. The issue is the only tolerable mode in MCC is auto slayer. Big team battle was my bread and butter but the Battle rifle/precision starts have utterly ruined multiplayer for me.

Halo 3 a lot of my favorite maps are utterly unplayable when you face these former mlg players. The battle rifle starts basically invalidate most weapon pick ups too. I outright do not see fights over things like a gravity hammer or Spartan laser sometimes. Forcing precision starts was so retarded I think they did it on purpose to filter out casuals.

Yeah I pretty much exclusively play Firefight or replay the campaign mode of the original 3 games.
Not because I have no friends but mostly because we're all adults so it's not easy to arrange "Game nights" anymore because life is life. :(

That and I just refuse to play online publicly since I refuse to uninstall the unlock everything mod because again, I ain't unlocking all that shit again years later I just want to have fun.
Plus, the community is probably just full of tryhards and sweats that optimize all the fun out of the game anyway. As is usually what happens to PvP games after their initial hype dies down.
I've always just found PvE more fun because again, the problem with PvP is there's always going to be those niggers that simply want to make sure nobody else is having fun.

I guess I mean the whole ragebait YouTube scene everytime im on theres always some dumb shit on my recommended feed like "HALO INFINITE SUCKS!" like they are just beating a dead horse at that point, getting so upset over Infinite when you can just buy MCC on steam and ignore Infinite's multiplayer which is free was always weird to me personally, its so tiresome with some of the hate certain games get these days.

Yeah but what’s the gameplay they are using in the videos? It’s typically infinite lol a majority of MCC heads are on for halo 3 maybe some 2/reach but I’m pretty sure it’s mostly for 3. These guys will get their asses handed to them on MCC even with SBMM on infinite it’s easier to frag.

I realized playing a god awful ctf match on Sandtrap. Which was personally my favorite map. It’s a combination of average player skill, and the average player setup now. We played halo 3 on fucking what 40 - 50 inch TVs at 30 FPS. Now we have better who can game better on gaming monitors at 60 fps.

I mean... more people are already playing MCC than Infinite. I feel like for the most part people have either given up on Infinite and gone back there or just walked away from the franchise entirely, except for hardcore fans.

MCC would probably have even more players if 343 didn't abandon it (again)... but given some of the armor/skins they were starting to add, maybe it's good that they did?

Like look at this

Look at just how slow people move, I blame BR starts but even back then certain maps/modes did have you start with a BR however even with that back in 2007/2008 guys barely were tryhards.

Now compare to modern day sandtrap

Look at the movement, the aim, the inherent skill and this is an average player.

True and I used to enjoy Halo 3 BTB and normal multiplayer modes on the 360 but on PC I can't, for some reason it often feels like I'm dealing no damage.

Anybody here really like Halo and the lore? Got a writing degree? Tired of working at Starbucks because you got a writing degree? GREAT NEWS!

I have no writing credentials, but I want to put a resume forward as a joke.
Can't be worse than Frankie or Brian Reed (who seems to have disappeared off the Internet)

I haven't played Infinite in two years. The UI layout change caught me by surprise. I still don't like the plain blocky text/UI placement. Infinite functions well as a shooter; it just lacks a cohesive, artistic identity.

I want to apply. Make an old lady protagonist side story.

MCC's multiplayer is a tryhard sweatfest to the point of not even being fun
you either fight against people are the master chief and arbiter themselves and stand no chance or fight against actual lobotomites(more often these people are on your team) and stomp

game is buggy too, combine all this with the fact that if you dare leave a match or something happens beyond your control you get a temporary ban that quite frankly should just be removed

The stomp or get stomped shit does suck halo 3 multiplayer is just sweat city. Really sucks in that I only play auto slayer and slayer has the most sweats.
