A Caribbean (not Haitian) guy I know always refers to them as the cursed people and apparently it's a pretty common label in most Caribbean nations. (He also refuses to have anything to do with them and said "I only ever met one decent Haitian")
The story goes that the then leader and some of his fellow rebels met in a hill with a Haitian equivalent of a voodoo queen that was possessed by the Devil. Devil says "Give your people over to me and I will free you from the White man." They agree and then immediately drive out the French. Thus, their title as "The Cursed People." He blames that event for all of the ills in Haiti and claims it will never, ever get better, even the ground they walk on is cursed.
He's told me plenty of local stories from his home town about cursed houses/uncuttable trees, a man who was cursed and would chimp out every full moon, black magic Baptists you could pay to curse people, and way more insane stuff that seemed "normal" to him.
Any of it true? I don't know, probably to an extent. I just found it to be an interesting explanation from a guy whose explanation didn't involve race
I completely believe this, knowing the history of Haiti and their behavior. I already referred to them as “cursed” and I’m not surprised others do the same.

There's nations who have suffered similar debt issues that haven't turned into the savage and lawless land Haiti did. Plus it's been over 2 centuries, at what point do you start taking responsibility about how fucked your nation is?
Wasn't Haiti and the Dominican Republic in a similar economic situation like 80 years ago?

The aid could have paid it several times over and yet nothing has improved.

So TPS is ending on Tuesday, hopefully at least some Haitians are forced to fuck off back to their shithole. Looking at the news there in Haiti, things haven't improved at all, that Gang Suppression Force is still in bureaucratic hell and isn't expected to start showing up until April so their operations won't start for quite a while after that. Undoubtedly it's going to be undermanned, hamstrung by terrible rules of engagement and poorly equipped.
God I hope we see hundreds of thousands of useless violent Haitians getting shipped over there, but I won't hold my breath. At least it should be funny to watch, at this point the only thing that could stop those gangs is proper meat grinder urban combat with a healthy dose of collateral damage and a LOT of extrajudical killing, but nobody is willing to do that sort of thing anymore. Well except me, but the Haitian government won't respond to my emails.

Which one? The Transitional Presidential Council’s (TPC)? Or Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé? Both are seen as illegitimate by the people. The TPC is the "recognized" government by the UN. And the Prime Minister has control over the police and Mexican/Nigger Military.

I for one vote for another Military coup and pay them to force Haitians to stay in Haiti. Its a win win. General Nigger gets 100,000 USD and a private jet to go to France. We dont have international incidents involving the coast guard waterblasting people in wood rafts.

Some news updates.

The trail for four people charged with killing Haitian President Jovenel Moïse in 2021 started earlier this month in Miami. I haven't started reading on it yet, but the Miami Herald has been covering it. Here's the links and archives so far:

Barbecue and the boys are still running things from what I can gather. Anyone got any local Haitian blogs to share, in the same vein as the narcoblogs that Mexico has?
