Do to the recent events of people clogging up both the trump salt thread and the Vegas shooter thread I have made this thread for people to discuss this topic.

Should guns be taken away?

No, they’re awesome and everybody should have one. We’ve already seen what happens when some asshole turns a gun on a crowd of unarmed people.

Good or bad, guns are tools that get thrown into these shitstorms. Even if you did ban them, you got people who will fond ways to secure a gun they would use for a public shooting.

Guns rule. Guns are awesome. Everyone should be given a gun the moment they're born. If possible, we should arm fetuses so they can be born armed.

They're bad but necessary.
If not to defend yourself from other people, to defend yourself or your enviroment from invasive animals

There's a great movie about what happens when only the police have guns and no one else is allowed to have them, it's called Schindlers's List. Good thing it was a complete work of fiction.

Ban assault Jews. You don't NEED high capacity wallets. Assault Jews claim more lives than any other weapon. Assault Jews commit 99.9% of mass shootings, and are probably responsible for the other one percent too.

Confiscate all guns, sell them to other countries, use the proceeds for federal martial arts classes.

Imagine the headlines: "59 Dead, 500 Injured from Mass Roundhouse Kicking in Las Vegas"

I think that the American society is so saturated with guns that the ban would not change much for the better for at least several decades. I mean, criminals and wackos won't just surrender their guns after they're banned. So it's at least one full generation of very annoyed normal pro-gun people, with barely any changes in homicide rate, in order to achieve a long-term goal. Politicians rarely look so far forward.
