https://youtube.com/watch?v=TGj7gMeo3JoWelp, 23 minutes of RAW UNEDITED EPIC BALL SQUEEZING GAMEPLAY ARE OUT.
And it looks like modded Arma 3 with even worse audio, animations and movement. I know, I know >pre-alpha, but they felt ready enough to show this off.
Idk. I didn't think it looked all that bad. But the devs did say that they were a bit worried about it showing it. I think they just wanted to show
something to prove that the game is real, because there are so many people claiming it's a complete scam.
Imo I think it looks really promising for something so early in development... But I don't really care much about the graphics either. I'm more concerned about the gameplay itself, the systems, etc. I expect a lot of stuff to be placeholders, and if not, I don't even mind much. I'll have to put some headphones on later and listen to the video again w/ the audio in mind though.
I'm not dis-interested, but I wonder how they plan to distinguish themselves from Tarkov or if this is just trend chasing.
Well, they already seem to be doing that. Open-world map instead of instanced/more realistic ballistics and health systems, less weapon types and more focus on weapon modding, static world w/ infil/exfil via helicopter (similar to DMZ). There are definite differences. But realistically they just have to improve on a few things that Tarkov has failed at to really have a shot at doing well imo.
Sure, Tarkov is
the extraction shooter, but Tarkov is also pretty buggy, and is filled with cheaters. And it's been buggy and filled with cheaters for years now, with no change in sight really.
If, for instance, GZW manages to do the things Tarkov is trying and failing to do (have functioning positional audio/ have non-laggy magnified optics/ have a functioning anti-cheat system) while managing to be better at the things Tarkov already does well (more realistic ballistics/more realistic health system) and improving on things that it doesn't seem capable of doing, like making it open-world (which Tarkov was originally supposed to be) and optimizing the game better? Then Tarkov might have some competetion.
We'll have to see what happens.
