off topic, but GTA Online recently released some new music for their Cayo Perico Mission Heist, and this one features the late MF Doom.

it‘s the most replayable song on here so far, and it says a whole lot that this is the most fitting DOOM song I’ve heard from him. it’s even more wild that I heard this the day it was announced that he passed away.

I wonder what DOOM’s favorite GTA game was. I’m betting money that it was GTA: Liberty City Stories or GTA: Chinatown Wars.

Sorry I was't really paying attention cause of new years and stuff. Truth be told, I don't really visit regularly anymore and probably will even less now that I've completely given up on GTA Online and there's not going to be any news for anything else for a long time if ever.

It's really hard to make a community thread about GTAForums IMO. There's a lot of stupid shit but it's kind of repetitive shit most of the time. Just generally people who after 7+ years should have an idea about how Rockstar and the game operates still just being absolutely clueless, but I feel that to really recognize it would require people to also be part of the crowd that has played for an extended period which kind of limits the appeal.

Of course, I have never been one to view their more social/off topic forums so maybe there's a whole treasure trove there that I have missed out on.

You know, MF DOOM was featured in the Chinatown Wars theme song.

Great opening song. It's also played in the credits too.

MF DOOM will be missed.

2021 is now embracing Lamar roasting Franklin from the beginning mission, Franklin & Lamar.

What a time to be alive.

That shit been in my recommendeds for the last week. Can't wait for the PS5 version to come so "Lamar Roasts Franklin but it's Enhanced & Expanded" happens.
All they do is a character model swap. And the occasional voice dub.

Lamar is funny, but this will die out.

when even a fucking Swede get that a R* should stop beating GTAO to pulp, that really means something is wrong there

but ultimately he's a fucking goyim cattle and he's not gonna get anything new ever

I'll boot up a PC copy of GTA3 every so often.

I'm boomer, so GTA3 is best GTA imo.

GTA III is great for its simplicity IMO. It also still retained some of that early gritty GTA style. I still really really enjoy GTA III and Vice City. Probably moreso than San Andreas to be honest.

I kind of hate how every GTA game (and by extension, a lot of open world games in the style) are judged based on stupid minigames and shit after GTA IV.

Muta went from talking trash about Nintendo’s corporate practices to now talking trash about GTA‘s Online community

He also went hard on Rockstar for how fucking awful GTA Onlines hacker problem and general security is.

I don't think I ever realized how bad it was because I almost never played public lobbies lol. Glad I uninstalled this trash.

The hacking in GTAO on PC is pretty insane. The only game I've seen it worse on is PUBG. The biggest reason I uninstalled GTAV is because of the frequency you'd run into hackers while trying to do shit online with friends. It just got to be no fun and of course R$ doesn't give a shit and would rather punish the victim,

I find it kind of funny how V fanboys will talk about how IV was "too realistic" even though V was also "realistic" in all the annoying ways.

In IV, if you land in water after your chopper crashes, you're safe. In V, you die if you hit water too fast.
In IV, if your vehicle breaks down, you can use the phone glitch to get it running again. In V, you're FUBAR.
In IV, your vehicle may break down if it takes too much damage during chases, somewhat negated by the phone glitch. In V, your car will break down over time from damage during chases. Helicopters and planes being the worst offenders.
In IV, the body morphs were a tad exaggerated but very amusing. In V, all cars barely morph and their axels get stuck which fuck up police chases.
In IV, the police were tough but fair. In V, police swarm the area and respawn so fast that it makes fighting them rather unfun.
In IV, you need to be out of sight to enter a Pay n' Spray. In V, you need to be out of sight AND wait for the door to open (among said swarming police).
In IV, you get phone calls from friends to hang out, annoying but non-intrusive. In V, they tie mission markers to safehouses so for 60% of the story you can't enter your safehouse until you finish a mission.

GTA IV may not have been perfect but it really peeves me when the fanboys act like V is "wacky San Andreas times" when V has just as much "realistic" shit in it.

Games can go too far with "realism" sometimes. Make your game fun and logical with the game.

IV's police provided a fair challenge for those who were up for it. In V, even getting two stars would be a challenge. To the point where you avoid conflict when possible.

That "Scouting the Port" mission. Realistic, sure. But at what cost?
