The difference is that Rockstar hasn't been coasting on that game for an entire console generation. Fantastic as San Andreas is, the game was a standalone experience (no constant maintenance & updates like Online), and Rockstar worked their asses off on making GTA IV and RAGE afterward.
Slightly disagree about SA. R* has milked San Andreas lately with countless ports since the mobile release.

Using the mobile port and not optimizing it properly for the 360 and PS3 AND releasing a shoddy version of it on Steam isn't helping the legacy of San Andreas.

RDO is dying because of a lack of things to buy
Knowing they wanted to monetize the shit out of RDR2 online, I'm shocked Rockstar would set the game in 1899.

There's nothing they like more than selling flying vehicles but if you set the story in 1899 instead of 1904, you can't really add them in since the Wright Brothers didn't do their thing until 1903.

I'm sure they would love to sell a Wright Flyer for some obscene amount of in game money.

It's how I knew RDO would be a failure for Rockstar even before it launched. Everyone joked about them selling railroad bonds and shit, but I was asking what the fuck would anyone want to even spend real world money on in the game. Horses aren't exactly like exotic cars, after all.

I honestly feel sorry for the actual fans of Red Dead Online. Most of them see it for the bullshit that it is, and I always hear them say stuff like "Rockstar could *really* make something out of this!" and so they keep on playing hoping that Rockstar will come to their senses.

But the fact is, Rockstar could never do anything with Red Dead Online because they expect it to be like Grand Theft Auto Online. It was always going to be this weird predatory piece of shit.

What exactly about RDR online is there to be a fan of?
I just enjoy doing bounties with friends and the environmental art/skyboxes is gorgeous. Not deluding myself into thinking they'll ever actually do more with it but I'd be lying if I said I didn't have fun hunting and doing bounties.

FUCK. THAT. HEIST.
Its too fucking difficult, and for what? 2 mill? Fuck off.
Amazing, you'll be down about $200,000 for doing the heist after buying the sub (why do you even need a fucking submarine to do a heist?), and the amount is barely enough for a new untuned car. This is one of the many reasons I don't touch Online, it's all grindy work with too little reward.

I also love how they restrict solo players from getting the best loot. Want that gold? Fuck you, bring a friend.

If it weren't for the drainage tunnel approach for this heist I wouldn't even bother with it, I've seen people do this in about 10 minutes thanks to it.

There really is nothing to do in Online but gamble isn’t there?

I just want an airplane hangar dammit. But I can’t make diddly squat.

fuck you Sony for suckering me into PSPlus again. Should have given that to Nintendo online. I just tried it because I know PS4 support will soon end.
