He did a good job covering the new Saints Row game without getting political (whilst still kind of touching on the cultural aspects of how absurd the characters and premise were), but as is, it's too early to tell whether this will be as much of a disaster as that game is, and he ends up shooting himself in the foot if the game isn't as bad as the article is suggesting.

To be perfectly honest, a GTA gamed based on Bonnie and Clyde is a brilliant idea with a ton of potential. However, given abysmal state of Rockstar, this is most likely gonna be an absolute shitshow.

Which, you know, honestly sucks because I think a female GTA protagonist is long overdue, and would be great if it handled properly, but given the current state of things, and how their last attempt at a badass female character was messy at best, the chance of this new one being any better is slim to none.

This just makes me sad. I'm used to franchises I once loved being destroyed by the preachy, self-righteous and tone-deaf zeitgeist of current times, but it hurts more to see it happen to Grand Theft Auto, in which a major part of these games are to satirize the contemporary theme of the times.

It's like resurrecting George Carlin and having him dressed in rainbow colours and crying "Trans rights!" at every available opportunity. There's that extra level of hurt to it because they used to bite back at this kind of thing.
