Besides dealing with Nintendo, the issue given is that Nintedo's hardware setup is different from the X-box/PS systems and that Rockstar doesn't want to put in the money to rework shit to play GTA 5 on Switch.
They could've hired the same autists that managed to do a clean port of III and VC to the Switch instead of suing them.

The only thing "expanded and enhanced" are the BUGS. May as well call it GRIEF Theft Auto.
It's actually crazy how bad the cheating and exploiting is and how Rockstar apparently doesn't give a shit. I guess retards still pay for Shark cards despite all the cheating, otherwise Rockstar might have to do something about it.

I used a mod menu to give myself hundreds of millions just so I can actually get to play the game without grinding, I'm surprised R* doesn't even care about that type of cheating. With the blatant bullshit that happens in every server all the time I don't even know what you can get banned for anymore.

So my friend for some reason decided to get back into GTA Online after not playing it for forever and begged me to reinstall it to do Cayo Perico and The Contract with him the past couple weeks. So yeah, I broke my roughly two year streak of not touching it.

I finally managed to get through the scope out part of it (possibly because I didn't have to re-watch the stupid cutscene with Madrazzo in the club so I didn't go in annoyed out of my mind). I wouldn't go as far as to say any update to GTA Online at this point is "good", but Cayo Perico feels like they finally, almost, figured out how to do heists after 5 years. They carried over the whole free mode prep from Casino Heist but now you can just do the fucking heist on your own if you want, and if you do it with two people there are better things to grab. Why did it honestly take them so long to figure this out? Make it doable solo and just incentivize people to play co operatively. That way if I don't have a friend to play with I don't have to deal with fucking kids and stoner retards.

The contract was okay too I guess. Gameplay/design wise there was nothing inherently appalling about it other than the tried and true you putting up the million to two million to get the fucking thing going (I did it since I had the 43 million just sitting there, but it would have sucked for my friend if I didn't have it), but that's just a GTA Online staple and at this point 1 to 2 million isn't really anything. "It could have been worse" and they could have started making the barrier to entry 10 million.

My main issue with it was mostly just the story in general. Franklin doesn't do shit even though he talks all this talk about "getting his hands dirty". Everyone treats Dr. Dre with such reverence as a "legend" that it becomes laughable. I rolled my eyes so hard when the Vernon dude said to that Ballas dude that stealing Dr. Dres phone was "taking it too far" after he had just murdered a dozen+ Ballas. Then you have the 5 minute long unskippable cutscene that is just Dr. Dre producing a song with some dude which was annoying as hell. I will admit I was kind of surprised that Dr. Dre literally clubs a man to death at the end though, so I guess props to him for agreeing to that but it still makes me laugh cause I remember this picture.

So yeah, I guess my big takeaway is that I kind of like how they've figured out to finally just throw shit in freemode so you don't have to deal with so many fucking load screens and made it so you can do shit solo if you don't have a friend that's on. But I kind of fucking hate that the entire "story" elements to these updates is boring as fuck and unskippable. If you're going to make me watch a 5 minute cutscene make it something cool or exciting, not Zoomer Madrazo being a faggot with his friends in a club or Dr. Dre just rapping with some dude and going "put more bass on it, give it some sizzle" over and over. This isn't the kind of "story content" people have been asking for for 9 years.

Of course, I'm sure this is the new blueprint for the next 2 to 3 years since they couldn't figure out any more businesses to do. I'm expecting a call from Michael in the next 6 months asking me to track down some film print he's had stolen or doing a bunch of shit for some real life actor to get him in his movie or something.

Edit: Oh yeah, completely unrelated to the old ass updates themselves, but I watched a Broughy video for the first time in forever after playing this and he was complaining about that GTA+ subscription they did a few months back. At one point he made a big stink about how it would cost "600 million to fill every garage with every car in the game" and how because of that he's done with the game. Now, don't get me wrong, GTA Online has a lot of fucking issues (I didn't even get into how 2 years later Rockstar still hasn't fixed the glitches with haircuts despite adding new hairstyles, and also hasn't added the space alien weapons to the weapon locker so I'm stuck carrying them after they gave them to me for free), but honestly who the fuck needs to buy *every* car and *every* garage? Chill the fuck out and stick with a few favorites and call it good mother fucker.

Honestly, as much as I enjoy vegging out to GTAO from time to time, I remember saying from the top it was a fucking stupid idea, and I stand by that today.

Your entire market is edgy children, be they 15 or 50, who like being dickheads. In what fucking universe does putting 20-40 of that in one lobby sound like a good idea?

Much like Fallout, just let us jump a friend into our single player games. That's literally all we want.

I dunno, I kinda like the "Kill Michael" ending.
It has the best ending song and Franklin repeating what Michael told him earlier about running and then feeling like you can't run anymore is probably the closest V got to actually good writing. If all three endings were written that well and had more of a dilemma like IV I think a lot of people would be less harsh towards V's story.

They never had any fucking idea what they were doing and yet somehow that was exactly what was needed for GTA Online to be the success that it is.

The sad truth is, there is no way to make it successful otherwise I think. Even if they did segregate people into mission lobbies and fuck off lobbies, the people that spend the big bucks wouldn't have anyone to fuck with and thus it would become a failure.

I could see the "empire building" kind of thing they had going work if they never introduced all the military/james bond shit into the game. Or at least made any attempt for any of it to be balanced or adding in the missile jammers and such 5 or 6 years ago instead of 6 months ago.

Its that bad? Usually when it comes to games so heavily cheated, think of TF2 or CSGO. Is GTAO as equally as bad as those two in the cheating scene?

I've played TF2 like once in the last ten years, but it's much worse than CSGO. I feel like every time I'm in the mood to play GTA Online I have to hit "find new session" at least a couple of times to find a server that isn't being spammed by Chinese bots and doesn't have people floating in the air or everyone in the server being killed over and over. Nothing like working on a Heist prep mission and you accidentally do something to trigger someone using a mod menu so they fuck with you until you leave. The security is so poor in GTA Online that it exposes your IP to anyone with a menu and some menus can even Alt-F4 your game for reporting the person using the menu.

It's a shame FiveM is full of some of the worst, most autistic spergs on the internet, because playing in smaller private servers is more fun now than vanilla GTAO.

I don't have a lot of experience with cheating in online games

But cheat menus are pretty pervasive in GTA Online, and from what I've been told have the ability to straight up ban and dox other players.

GTA IV did free roam right. Weapons are pickups for one. Vehicles spawn in as they do in single player. One could enable or disable cops if you just want to cause mayhem.

There's no progression, no pay to win, no imbalance. Everybody is in an equal playing field. That's not like that in GTA Online.

But every time I played GTA IV on 360, it was dead as fuck except for free roam mode where everyone just killed each other like in GTA Online and Cops and Crooks which if we're being completely real here is GTA IV's version of an adversary mode.

I'll never understand the idea that GTA IV did free roam right just because you didn't start with weapons and had to pick them up. So instead of getting griefed with jets you just got griefed with normal weapons?

I never understood people saying IV had good writing, or a dilemma. Every single problem that falls on Nicos lap is either his own fault (I keep doing crime and pissing off criminals, why do bad things happen to me?) Or Romans.
The woman involved is an innocent, had absolutely nothing to do with anything, other than fucking Nico, IIRC. How is that a dilemma?

Because Kate was the one who recommended that Niko cut ties with Rascalov and congratulates him in a phone call if you do the Revenge ending? She's the one who then dies. It's the exact same with Roman in the Deal ending. It is pretty basic tragic storytelling that that the people who recommend the solutions that Niko takes are the ones who then suffer the consequences.

Also, yes, IV makes it pretty clear that everything that happens to Niko is his fault. He gets dragged into organized crime again and continues to escalate it past the point of reason because he's that broken and knows nothing else. It's quite literally spelled out to the player in the Darko mission.

Remember that Niko recognizes that "[he] deals in death because it's all that is open to [him.]" It doesn't rationalize or justifies his choices, hence the two endings.

I'd be happy if they brought LC back in VI. Some crazy guy on reddit says we're going to have VC, LC, Bullsworth and Carcer. Now personally I think that this wouldn't make any sense (why have two similar settings when you can just have LC) but hey you never know.
I'd assume it's because LC is already designed and would simply need cleaning up and slight alterations, so why not throw it in as well. It's been 10 years after all.

I still have my doubts on that guy. There's a lot of big shit that he claims is/can be changed for a game that is supposed to be out by late 2024, but a lot of the shit he says sounds cool and interesting so I kind of hope this is a repeat of the RDR2 leak that nobody paid attention to. People also claimed he got a lot of stuff right about GTA Online updates but I just found out about him this week when someone asked earlier.
