Take-Two forces Hazelight to abandon their "It Takes Two" trademark following dispute

Hazelight abandons its It Takes Two trademark following action from Take-Two

It Takes Two is one of the 2021's gaming highlights, arriving as a game that requires two-player co-op play, delivering an experience that is unlike anything else that this year has to offer.

Thanks to an article from Eurogamer, it has become known that Hazelight has been forced to abandon its trademark for It Takes Two, following trademark claims from Take-Two Interactive.

Take-Two Interactive is the game publisher behind Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, Borderlands, Bioshock and many other AAA franchises. Take-Two is a powerful company, and one that is involved in many trademark disputes, including those that are connected with the words "rockstar", "mafia", and "civilization".

While it is hard to claim that It Takes Two could be confused with Take-Two Interactive's trademarks, the latter appears to be adamant to protect their Trademarks as zealously as possible.

In a statement to Eurogamer, a Hazelight representative said that they "cannot comment on ongoing disputes" and that the studio is "hopeful it will be resolved".
Hazelight was hit by a Take-Two's claim shortly after the launch of their game, forcing Hazelight to officially abandon their trademark application for their game's name. This document shows that Hazelight abandoned their trademark on March 30th, four days after It Takes Two's launch.

At this time, Hazelight doesn't appear to be planning to rename It Takes Two following the forced abandonment of their trademark.

Take-Two is involved in many trademark disputes

Here, you will be able to see that Take-Two is involved in trademark disputes with a huge number of companies across the world. This includes many companies that have the audacity to use the words "rockstar", "bully", or "mafia" in their trademarks. Take-Two is incredibly litigious, so good luck trademarking something that uses generic terms like Rockstar and Mafia...
More of Take Two's trademark dispute bullshit.

Keeping a count, so far they've fucked over: their own employees, their own customers, their modding community and now smaller studios and other unrelated smaller companies.

it's trademark dispute.
just like apple suing people left right and center on countries that allow such cuckness.
and if you look at gtaforums people still licking their balls over there.

They're getting demolished on Metacritic.

As they should.

I have a hard time believing that they'd be dumb enough to do that, but it is current year so I wouldn't be shocked.
I'm surprised they haven't yet. They could kill off user ratings, and then get journos to say it's ackshually a good thing because low user ratings happen when RACISTS find out a game was developed by people of nigger.

true, but it's more likely they gonna pull a rottentomatoes and have the score magically being stuck forever. I think rise of skywalker is still 86% since it's opening.

Breaking news, European countries don't over charge their citizens for basic health care as a means of lining hospital pockets. More after this story on water being wet.
to be fair they're overly bureaucratic in return, which leads to fun stuff like no permanent address -> no welfare -> no one paying for that social healthcare (they don't work for free, the only difference to burgerland is where the money comes from. no money no coverage). dunno how it is over there but I assume they'll still treat you just bill you directly, and since that's not capped by any insurance agreements they can basically charge you whatever they want.

I can just see the headlines now

"Racist gamers hated CJ in 2004 and they hate him now!"

And then they'll cry about the "white CJ" mod like they've been doing for damn near 2 decades now.
If they can’t force Big Smoke to go vegan after eating all of that chicken in that drive thru restaurant, they will not care what a journalist has to say about CJ

Everyone misunderstands Warren Buffet. The point they seem to miss: A "moat" is any advantage which stop newcomers from competing with you. And rate of innovation or technological capability would fit the definition they use for a moat.

Zelnick's plan is to build an actual moat. A business like his doesn't need to innovate that much to be successful: competitors keep showing up with products on par with R*, so let's sue them.

Eh

Too little too late. I'll just watch the cutscenes in Professionals playthrough.

Also pretty uncreative to make Franklin basically become Michael who desperately wanted out of the game only to be saying he misses it.

How long before we get the Michael update since Ned Luke is such a dick rider for Rockstar?

Oh no..

It's for GTA Online.. It might be more story, but fuck..

i'm more than certain that the stun gun will be nerfed in order to be "balanced" on the GTAO world.
which means the storymode stun gun will also become utter shit.
dammit rockstar and goddammit t2, all it took was some niggers blasting your shitty pajeeti port for you to become desperate and throw in more circo loco rap shit and call franklin's VA again, hell you niggas even paid snopp dogg, how desperate are you to try to divert people's attention from everyone kicking GTAT:R's corpse?

Considering how bloated and putrid the corpse is, think of the new Online DLC as weak air freshener to cover up the smell. I think you know just how well that's gonna work out.
