Gorillaz - Thread about British virtual band

Gorillaz, Demon Days, G-Sides and Plastic Beach are peak, the last being their best imo. They never reached the same quality after.

I learned to appreciate whole albums to these guys. For that reason, I respect their discography and hold their work with great regard.
 
Demon Days > Gorillaz > D sides > Laika Come Home = G sides > Tomorrow Comes Today EP
Rest of their discography is a pure unfiltered trash.

I've got a soft spot for Gorillaz. not all of their tracks are bangers but I have a hard time outright hating any of them. Demon Days and Gorillaz are definitely my favorite albums, but pretty much all their older stuff is solid too. their new album is, uh, interesting, lol. Spotify keeps putting the new tracks on my release radar list as they come out. I don't hate it, but I'm not sure I'd listen to it by choice lol.

I know everybody likes it, and I hate liking the thing that everyone likes, but On Melancholy Hill is a hell of a track.
 
Probably the first band I truly got into, partly due to an old acquaintance whom I remember speculating on the band with back when she first introduced me to it. I got into it during their big Plastic Beach - > Humanz break, and I thought Humanz was going to be great. (I learned the hard way that it was not, lol. I don't think I bothered listening to anything after the album they put out following Humanz. Souk Eye is the most recent song I remember listening to, and I did not like it.) I still listen to Plastic Beach and especially D-Sides from time to time, though Demon Days and self-titled are also very good.

Anyways, thoughts on the fanmade Rhinestone Eyes music video? I find it pretty impressive, but I honestly prefer the storyboards. Maybe because there's less tweening. I can't believe it's already been 8 years since that thing came out. It was HUGE when it dropped.

Hewlett kinda already pushed for his green-ness through the phases 1/1.5, if you count the zombie clones(?) (a thing which never got out of conceptual idea) and a few promotional arts of that era.

What this guy said word for word. They were as unique as Daft Punk in what they brought to the music industry.
