Cf. this website, which documents all the various services Google has launched or bought out and killed over the years. Granted I think some of them they have rolled up their features of successful products, but still. I'm still mad about Google Reader, BTW.

My guess is they were worried by Amazon and especially Microsoft getting to the cloud gaming space, so they wanted to get a leg up on them, but they have release far to early and have screwed themselves. Maybe they have even set back cloud gaming itself back a couple of years or so with a bad reputation.

Not sure it will try it at all. It was supposed to compete against this generation of consoles, but failed miserably even though it's close to the end of this console generation... This, and honestly even if their idea had of worked, Microsoft, and Sony could have just set up a similar service and incorporated it into their next generation of consoles, shit they could have possibly even made it free with their already existing online service.

That's a key Staida problem - Sony and Microsoft already have similar services with much bigger libraries and lower costs and now they've partnered together to help each other develop the next generation of streaming.

They were already way too late to the party, but for some reason didn't think to change course or cancel and refine the launch all together. They can't compete for this console cycle and they really can't compete for the next one, either.

Sony and Microsoft also aren't morons who think they can bypass the laws of physics.
They plan to keep the ps4 and Xbox one into the next gen as streaming devices, the major diference from stadia is that they can process most of the data in the console itself, greatly reducing data rates and ping.
I think streaming will be a fad, especially since smartphones are already reaching ps4 levels of performance.

A decade later, and now Nintendo exclusively makes portable game systems.

I think we can all agree this is some straight bullshit.

I don't think women or girls really care about color of controllers. If they do.. why not offer some pink or baby blue controllers, you fucking shitlords?

Now. The shape, which is briefly mentioned later in this article, is a factor.

Before analogue sticks, in the NES days, you could just have a block. To ensure control of analogue sticks, you need to have wingy-things. Personally, as a man slightly taller than Osama, the Xbox 360 controller works alright at best for me. Cramped, but fine.

Google's alternative looks like it might work for women and children who aren't fat better, which I think makes a lot of sense, but is less good for adult men.

Why aren't these companies working to offer interchangable/adjustable lower wings on their controllers?

The idea itself shouldn't need much thought into coming to the conclusion that it's stupid. It should be a beautiful combination of irony and insulting considering they're trying to say women need a specified controller to play video games and can't just play with controllers designed and used by everyone.

I don't find this particularly unreasonable TBH.

The hands of women and girls particularly are smaller. It is true that for me, many video game controllers are a little small. But, it is also true that for young girls in particular, they are almost always too large. At least I can chuck a few rubber bands around the 'arms' on an XBox controller. You can't make one smaller.

I would however suggest that they should offer options, instead of just making all controllers for little girls.
