This is gonna be a long con. 8 years long.
Assuming you're right, I just don't think that it's particularly funny (this sort of thing happens all the time,) and I don't have the patience for that shit anyway.

Maybe it's a regional thing, but I've met people here in southern Arizona who don't know what a parka is, and it actually snows here every so often. Gloria probably is probably clueless about parkas and would likely describe it as a trendy jacket people wear elsewhere.
I call any zip-up winter coat a parka so it's less about a specific type of coat than just a cold weather kind of thing.

But having said that "cold" for Florida is 65 degrees. That's t-shirt weather as far as I'm concerned.

But... but... the Maradonia theme park?

I still can't get over how deluded she was that she thought her terribad novel would spawn a theme park.

Daddy didn't have that much money.

Have hope, she's writing another novel, remember? Presumably having abandoned the Maradonia series. Now we'll never know how it ends! (Prediction: Maya Sue and Joey kill all the evil bad guys and become king and queen of Maradonia and the most popular kids in school in the real world).

Looking back on it all, I have to say that fucking "Maradonia Book Trailer"/Celebrity Soup video is still one of my favorite things ever produced by a lolcow. I mean, it's so ubiquitous at this point that we kinda lost sight of just how fucking weird the very idea of the thing was.

I liken it to that "Paul Rudd's Computer" sketch from Tim and Eric in the sense that it's so hilarious and absurd and detached from any semblance of reality that it's nearly impossible to explain exactly what the hell it is to someone who has never seen it before. I honestly didn't think she'd ever be able to top it until I saw the full Maradonia movie.

While watching the movie I was actually looking foreword to that scene- just because of how silly it was.

It's really disappointing she cut out one of the only entertaining moments of the book
She felt that she'd be upstaged by a stuffed animal as it had more range than she did and the audience would feel more for it's destruction than hers.
