Do you see that second screenshot with that very important piece of lore on it? It was on screen for less than half of a second. I had to put the video on 0.25 speed so I could pause it on such a frame where all of the text is present and legible, so it's even less than half of a second effectively.
It still baffles me how anyone looked at this and thought "Yeah that's good storytelling!" when the series literally speedran its own plot to the point where only Game Theory faggots who stopped to analyze every fucking frame had any clue what was going on. And even then it's still not entirely clear or makes much sense!
Yeah let's just hide extremely important lore in a fucking split second frame, who fucking cares?! I can't understand it.
:stress:
Even as an amateur writer this shit is fucking painful.

Would you hoddle around a little robo gal like a child in Vegas shiwi?

I admire this guy's autism. He's building the Torment Nexus in his basement because he thought it looked cute.

Let's just hope he doesn't want to install a pocket pussy grape cluster analyzer into the very child-looking robot.

I also noticed that despite MD being one of your run-of-the-mill popular-with-the-Tumblr-crowd type of cartoons, they also have a noticeable amount of "edgier" fans, which is rather unusual if we compare MD to other Glitch/SMG4 shows. I've seen a relatively high number of Hearts of Iron IV players (WWII strategy game/map painter) who are also fans of MD, but almost no one who cared about other stuff from Glitch, just for an example, but I've seen all kinds of stuff like memes and fanart making references to the school shootings, Islamic terrorism, and Nazism. I have yet to figure out what makes this show click with autistic edgelords so much.

"Some of you guys are alright. Don't go to school tomorrow if you're on Copper-9." - Uzi Doorman (3071)
I literally Googled 'Uzi with an Uzi' and this was one of the top results.webp

Decided to finish MD since I got reminded it was a thing from youtube reccomending some content about it to me.

I still dont get the praise, the writing is atrocious, randomly breaking tension from what should be an energetic and chaotic fight against the series antagonist for marvel quips that overstay their welcome. Doesnt help that any "fatal" damage doesnt put any of the characters in any disadvantage and only exists for cheap shock value ( 50% of the show that isnt the 50% marvel humor). Amd the way cyn actually dies is nothing short of retarded and cheap, its like accidentally finding some bug for a final boss that feels cheap and unrewarding.

Yeah pretty much how I felt.
From what I've gathered from the scattered information from QnA's with the creator my understanding is the series was originally going to be way longer, more of a slow burn type of deal.
Then for whatever reason Liam instead decided to speedrun the storyline and condense at most what I understand to be at least 2 seasons worth of story into 8 episodes and it worked as well as you would expect.
So yeah that's why the writing and the pacing is as terrible as it is. For whatever reason Liam skipped pretty much everything that mattered in a story.

I really, really hope that all of the people saying Murder Drones was amazing now are just stupid kids that don't understand how storytelling works and hopefully when they grow up they'll realize how fucking dogshit it was and maybe we'll get a few video essays breaking down everything wrong with it. :story: That's me being :optimistic: though.

I should also clarify this is all secondhand information so take it with a grain of salt but I stick with it because it's the idea that makes the most sense to me.

The audacity to compare Don to Dana lmao. This tumblr fairy is assuming Dana will actually be willing to recapture the old Disney Magic instead of being all about "le epic deconstruction subvertive satire". We now that the Walt stand-in is going to be a "prooblematic bad person" and that the wholesome thing will actually be dark.

I Doubt shit like the constant tension breaking jokes like the raptor chasing characters who had no immediate relation to the main story, or the handshake bit that ESPECIALLY lives in my head rent free in the finale wouldnt have happened if the show was longer and cyns death couldve been better despite the cut down on episodes. Liam sounds like he needed others to wrangle him so the story wasnt a total mess, but knowing most western writers that wouldnt have been addressed or made worse.

I said it MIGHT have been better but who knows honestly. I will say the pacing is one of its worst problems. That being said you're 100% right from my understanding, unless we learn something new we've been told Liam had complete creative control over the show so all of these retarded decisions were his and his alone.
And this is why you need a wrangler for autistic writers kids.

I never watched Owl House so I have no idea what to expect out of this show, but i suspect its probably the same show with a different coat of paint

for the people who have watched her previous work, how was it?, is it good?

I thought it was pretty good. If you like Gravity Falls, you'll probably like it. Even has Bill Cipher's VA.

It had a potentially fun premise that was ruined by its creators self-inserts and inability to write characters more complex than a stick figure.

If you looked up the term wasted potential in the dictionary The Owl House's logo would be pictured next to it. Completely squandered a fun premise and setting and what could have been a fun cast of characters on twee gay tumblr bullshit, fluff and filler. Made especially worse because Dana wasted so many fucking episodes doing absolutely nothing but then cried and whined that she didn't have enough time to wrap up the series like how she wanted because Disney only gave her the standard three seasons instead of the like 5+ that she somehow assumed she would get.

I'm surprised that the Modern SMG4 fandom is the way it is despite the fact SMG4 was incredibly edgy and politically incorrect back in the mid-2010s. I mean, Mario literally shouted the N-word at the top of his lungs, there were suicide jokes, homophobic jokes, ableist jokes, and rape jokes. In fact, this was a recurring sound effect on SMG4 back in the day:

Seriously, watching Classic SMG4 and Modern SMG4 back-to-back is like watching two completely different series. Just look at this screenshot from WOTFI 2015, Glitch Productions would never have the balls to do something like this with SMG4 today:

But then again, I have to remember that most South Park fans act in a completely opposite way to the show.

The Modern SMG4 fandom doesn't know any pre-Meggy SMG4 content (barring the iconic videos like Who Let the Chomp Out? and the FNAF videos), and if they know, then they probably hate it because they are too sensitive for those videos. In fact, I seem to remember seeing some SMG4 fanart in the early 2020s on DeviantArt about someone hating the running gag in Classic SMG4 of Mario being a nudist.

Funny creators who go on to unfortunately become libtards. I don't know why it's so common but fuck it's depressing. *sigh*
