I came here to say that I am 31 years old and still play SIMS 3 on my laptop offline. That is all, carry on.

I totally understand it is not everyone cup of tea, but I LOVE the weirdness. My man Kojima is UNLEASHED, and I REVEL in it!
Kojima is such a fucking autist and I love him. I literally have a Metal Gear tattoo because of how much discovering his stuff just absolutely shaped my life as a weird autist girl. Met so many other based autistic girls through Kojima posting too.

I even had a Death Stranding landyard I used as a work landyard for a few years......though only ever got one person complimenting it lmfao

Skimmed the thread quickly, so apologies if they've already been mentioned, but RPGMaker horror games: Ib, The Witch's House, Mad Father, Yume Nikki and all of the fan spinoffs like 2kki and .flow. I haven't played Omori yet, but I really want to. I never got around to playing Ao Oni either, but I had friends who really liked it. Wadanohara has some of the prettiest character designs I've seen, but I couldn't get into the writing. Yume Nikki will always be my favorite game of all time and I really hate how trannies have latched onto it, to the point where the "Madotsuki is trans and the whole game is about dysphoria and the plight of trans women" theory has become popular. And now there's a popular tranny musician that goes by Uboa, so you see him when you google search Uboa now. Yume Nikki belongs to the girlies.
RPG maker horror games were my special autistic fixation for a little while. The Witch’s House was my favorite, it was stupid and funny and terrifying… and then the end haunted me for a while. Ib was all right too, but TBH I have more feelings invested in the OST than I do in the game itself. Did not care for Ao Oni, just seemed a little rushed and uninspired but it’s had nearly 20 years and 2 or 3 remakes to get better so I’ve given up.

You will love Omori. The horror elements are pretty subtle, but it’s very obvious that the dev is a big fan of Yume Nikki, too. It’s also extremely upsetting, but I can’t really get into horror unless there’s some emotional hook to it.

There’s a few others I can think of that I’ve played and enjoyed. I used to follow VGPerson pretty closely because she translated most of these games to English, so I’d use her work as a catalogue of games to try. Bevel’s Painting, Chloe’s Requiem, The Forest of Drizzling Rain, and Stray Cat Crossing were all games that I remember liking. I’d like to try Paper Lily, too.

I didn’t know that Yume Nikki had been co-opted by trannies. That’s kinda irritating because it used to be fun to spitball ideas and theories about it online before ye olde internet turned completely gay. I think that Madotsuki is a perfect role model for them to latch on to, though. As literally as possible, preferably.

Same! VGPerson and Mado's Closet were where all the cool games were. It feels silly to say, but it doesn't feel as fun or special now that they are all on Steam. It's not the same, but I'm happy the creators found success. I'm looking forward to playing Omori.

One can only hope ❤️

What is everyone's thoughts about the new Infinity Nikki update? I'm not as upset about it as others are, but wow did Infold fumble this big time.

It's really weird considering the value and effort they tend to put into the plot. The new update felt way too half-assed and had no buildup at all, it feels like a rushed response to the chinese player backlash over Nikki not being a major part of the story and that the bubble island was gonna be the main thing and the star realm was just taped on. Also the whole pity thing was expected, they kept adding more pieces to the suits in the old games as a way to drive the price up (think 14-18 with almost invisible earrings and tattoos to the point when it bugged and showed no sprite no one noticed for about a week), the only surprising thing is not boiling the frog and having it happen so soon.
Personally I am just happy they brought gifties back, always liked them more than Momo.

That's a great point about it being a response to CN netizens, shame they retconned the opening cutscene. They definitely should've not combined the two new regions as well. I would've had the dyeing system come later too (and for some reason the Stonebloom dyeing building doesn't even tie into this new dyeing system which is a big missed opportunity imo). Kinda funny though that Infold managed to end pissing off the CN netizens anyway, but tbh CN netizens are never really happy with anything Infold does.

Red Dead Redemption.
Seriously, it's actually way more for girls than for m*n.
Horses: You can find all sorts like white Arabian and you have to tane them. You can then ride them, keep them brush them. Get saddles, feed them, bond with them.
You can collect flowers and herbs and make perfumes. You can make scenic screenshots. You can dress-up, you can make journals. It's seriously the best thing relaxing and playing rdr from your bed, especially when there's rain ticking against your window and you put the heater way up.
Seconded. This game is girly af, and I'm tired of people pretending it's not.

Also, there's a pink horse you can get for free, and it's unironically one of the best horses in the entire game. It's the Perlino Andalusian, and it looks even pinker when you're actually playing the game.

Thread Tax: Yakuza. Seriously, think about it.

I dunno if anyone has mentioned this in thread, but Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines (2004) is one of my most favorite RPGs I've ever played. If you were obsessed with vamps as a kid and have never heard of it PLEASE give it a try. You do need to install an fan-made patch because it is terribly buggy and almost unplayable at moments. Everyone is sexy, its very early 2000's grunge/goth style, voice acting is incredible, and incredibly well rounded with a lot of side quests and different routes to take. (I've modded though for cuter main characters, they do look a little jank just bc of the limitations at the time ofc)

Bloodlines is a cult classic that still to this day stomps on many modern rpgs. Now as for girly? I mean I guess anyone can play and enjoy Bloodlines as it has so much soul and character. Though VtM is popular with women in general as what kind of a woman does not enjoy a sophisticated and sensual vampire that will grant you the "gift" of eternal life. A moment of pain in exchange for an eternality of pleasure.

Of course we all know that is a lie as you'll be bound to them and most likely be used as a pawn by the elders meeting your true death through either betrayal or by the end of a shotgun blast (seriously shotguns are no joke in VtM).

Now as for recommendations I can't really give one at the moment as I mostly play older games. The most recent games i've play is Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes which is a spiritual successor to Suikoden, but I have not gotten that far into the game to really give a fair review

Other than that I was replaying Racing Lagoon which is a Playstation 1 racing rpg/paranormal mystery? Between the writing, music and visuals creates a fun and interesting world.

My current car at the moment which is just a custom RX-7 as it is my favorite car and while I know a rotary engine is suboptimal I like the fickle and temperamental nature of rotary engines as when they work they are a thing of beauty. Rotary engines are the cats of the car world and i'll hear no other opinions on it.

I love the Cook, Serve, Delicious! games. They are typing games, but you can use a controller in the newer entries. The dev is going to remaster the first game so I'd probably wait for that version, though the third one is my favorite because it's faster paced and I love the food truck wars in a post-apocalyptic U.S. theme. The difficulty is variable, but if you're trying to get all gold medals it can be challenging (especially in the second game). The soundtrack for the third game is one of my all-time favorites, too.
Seconding Cook, Serve, Delicious! Just make sure you're not getting Cook Serve Forever -- they switched from being a typing game to only using arrow keys and I absolutely hate it. It removes all the fun. The original three go on sale pretty often though.

Big Fish Games is of course a classic source for girly games. Most of them are really awful sloppy cheap girly games, but these are the ones I actually like. Anyone have reccs for cool games like these?

One of my absolute favorite relaxing games, where you assemble several sets of skeuomorphic "jigsaw" puzzles made out of stained glass, cut stone, etc. Nice attention to detail, convincing visuals and nice sounds, and the images and materials are paired very artistically. Really tickles the brain. My only real complaint is that the "stars" awarded at each level for perfect/fast solving are reset for each solve, so if you want to keep your stars you have to re-earn them every time you play instead of relaxing on a second or third playthrough after earning the stars the first time.

A similar game to Patchworkz, although not as good. These "jigsaws" are not so convincingly and satisfyingly skeuomorphic, and the mechanics are more annoying. Unlike in Patchworkz, you can access all of the pieces of a puzzle at one time, but unfortunately they are all blank and randomly rotated, and the edges don't always align well with the natural contours of the image, so it's much more annoying to work out where the pieces go.
Glass Masquerade is short and sweet with a world exhibits theme, and I enjoyed it. Glass Masquerade 2 has an edgy not-like-other-girls dark inspirational Alice in Wonderland theme, a ghastly "otherworldly" color grading that makes everything look muddy and dark, and puzzles that tend to have much larger numbers of pieces that are more tiny and fiddly. Glass Masquerade 3 goes completely off into the weeds, discarding any attempt to follow the contours of the images by using hex shaped pieces which join seamlessly, and changing the artstyle significantly.

A wonderful hidden object game, though ironically not technically a "pure hidden" due to the inclusion of minigames, the title instead referring to the lack of any plot to distract from the gameplay. The game's overall style is an eclectic collage, and every level is lively, whimsical, and poppy, with motion elements and ambience. The developers clearly went to lengths to make every level unique, especially the minigames. You'll be asked to spot the difference, connect the pipes, pop the bubbles, decorate your bathroom, play the windchimes, and catapult a cat, among other things. Not all of them really land, but you can skip the ones you don't like.

This is the game every other hidden object adventure wishes it was. The art is competent and appealing, the story makes sense, the characters are likeable, the worldbuilding is interesting and inviting, the minigames are fun and well-integrated, and even the voice acting is genuinely good! It's a miracle! This is the story of Brunhilda, a girl from New York who is roped into saving a magical world from the dark crystal with the help of her new snarky demon familiar, who will teach her to collect hidden objects with a telekinetic wand and to play a couple of other minigames with tasks like collecting falling droplets and quickly matching runes in order to make potions or learn spells.

Join up a line of tiles to remove them from the grid and dig out any obstacles on the tiles to open the way for the magical energy. Get the energy to the end of the level before time runs out to win. Long chains explode very satisfyingly, and matching each color of tile charges a certain powerup to help you along. In between, there's a couple of spot the differences and four very nice hidden object scenes where you collect pieces to create items that solve puzzles in the scene.
4 Elements II attempts to expand and improve on this formula, but ends up adding a lot of extraneous bells and whistles, and is really obnoxious about holding your hand. Also the fairies go a bit "Bratz" and are not nearly so cute.

The classic marble shooting game. I will hear nothing about Zuma. Shoot marbles into the path to match 3 or more, and destroy the whole chain before it reaches the pyramid. Try to collect gems and powerups along the way, and enjoy the epic music.
Do not bother with the sequels at all, they completely changed the artstyle and therefore lack SOVL.

Honourable mentions:

This is a really gorgeous platformer where you play as adorable magic forest creatures with some natural talents to help them navigate and collect shiny motes of light. It just didn't really click with me, which is a shame, because, to reiterate, it's such a beautiful game.

A series of simulation games where you raise castaways to become a thriving village and eventually solve the mysteries of their island home. Set each villager to work on a suitable task, and watch them go. If you feel like watching paint dry. This is designed to be played off and on in the background, so everything takes hours, even days, and in between there just isn't much to do.

He sucks at his job? Take him to the character customizer and give him the tiniest cock ever seen.
I'm sold

don't like the faggy 3D men but I'd love a game that is like "Hey so we see you're having PMDD symptoms right now, calm down bitch. Just have fun."
Tbf they're attractive by Asian standards. I came here to ask about this game since here it has become #1 game among bpdchans

I saw CSD as one of those series where each new entry is worse than the last. I loved the first one, then the second felt too complicated for its own good (or maybe I just wasn’t great at it). I didn’t play the third, but I remember it looking even more complicated and having some thinly-veiled political allegories? Correct me if I’m wrong.
Seconding Cook, Serve, Delicious! Just make sure you're not getting Cook Serve Forever -- they switched from being a typing game to only using arrow keys and I absolutely hate it. It removes all the fun. The original three go on sale pretty often though.
I didn’t even know about Forever, but that would confirm what I just said.

One of the later Luxor games, Luxor Evolved, goes for a visual style like Geometry Wars with its minimalist vector graphics. A big departure from the original, but I like it.

I liked the unfinished Phantom of the Opera hidden object game they made. IMG_9502.webp
it’s probably not that good, it’s been years since I played it and I just really liked the book

Holy shit, I'm a sucker for those games. My memory is fading so I don't remember most of the Hidden Object game that I used to play. But I recommend this gem despite not a Big Fish Games:

This shit is my jam. Along with many of the Popcap's title, Mystery P.I. was pretty good
Speaking of Big Fish Games:

Le tip of my joystick but I'm trying to find this supposed Big Fish Games where it's a Hidden Object game with a female protagonist whose goal is looking for her younger brother. I'm not sure in this part but it took place in a modern age with supernatural things going on. One of the most vivid memories of this Hidden Object was there was a stage where you're trapped in a cabin and the fireplace started having a blizzard coming from the hearth. Oh, and also this game have minigames, and the minigame is you have to solve the crossstitch puzzle by clicklingt he embroidery hanged on the wall next to the fireplace. And once you solved that puzzle, the snowstorm stopped coming out of the fireplace, and you can open the door again. I assumed it's a typical Big Fish Game based on the semi-realistic art style from memory.

If anyone here recognized this video game, I would be happy to know the title. It's PC, and I played it in the mid 2000 to early 2010s,
