The German government is considering proposals to bring back compulsory military service as a countermeasure against a national crisis as they put it.

Could this have any connection to the fact that they urged the civilians to stockpile food for some days?

What could they be expecting? Terrorist attacks? Participation in a war involving NATO and Russia as many speculate? Simply ''reducing'' unemployment rates? Discuss if you will.
 
There will be no NATO - Russia war, so we can rule that out.

What if merkel just really hates muslim men, and this whole refugee thing was just a ploy to bring them into the country and make everyone else pissed off at them so she can holocaust them without too many complaints.

The Portugese should have killed all of the natives so that they could never rebel.
 
The Germans hurl out proposals time and again before they back down again. This is basically their proposal for keeping to the NATO 2% commitment by fudging the numbers in the same way the UK has been for a few years now.
