Irony has been declared many times in this pandemic but now, from Covid-riddled Germany comes the final proof: you can't kill yourself now unless you've been vaccinated. As European countries battle to limit the spread of the virus, Verein Sterbehilfe – the German Euthanasia Association – has issued a new directive, declaring it will now only help those who have been vaccinated or recovered from the disease. In a statement, the association said:

"Euthanasia and the preparatory examination of the voluntary responsibility of our members willing to die require human closeness. Human closeness, however, is a prerequisite and breeding ground for coronavirus transmission. As of today, the 2G rule applies in our association, supplemented by situation-related measures, such as quick tests before encounters in closed rooms."

'Close encounters in closed rooms' – what a fabulous German euphemism for assisted suicide. The term '2G' meanwhile refers to a system which only allows free movement for leisure activities for the geimpft oder genese— 'vaccinated or recovered.' God forbid that a person without the jab should try to end it all – talk about a vaccine passport to the afterlife...

Said by somebody who has never had to watch the state desperately and frantically try and wring one more day of life out of a formerly active and healthy senior as they lie in a hospital bed, shitting through a tube, riddled with tumors, bald, mouth full of rotting teeth and only not screaming in agony because they have three tubes down their throat. It's pathetic and horrible how hard western doctors try to force people who are clearly dying to live one more torturous hour on this earth.

My parents remember all their relatives dying suddenly. My mother had both her aunts simply drop dead of heart failure. Never bedridden, never senile. They lived active, happy, productive lives until their mid-80's and then they just... died. That's how people should die. No fanfare. No desperate clinging to life. They're there one day, then they're dead the next. No horrific, drawn-out period of suffering prolonged until the last nanosecond by drugs, pills and machines that breathe and shit for you.
That’s why I don’t want to retire. One of my grandfathers died this way, literally died with his boots on. When you stop working you fall apart imo.

Honestly it's one of the saddest things about modern day, the fact that our elders retire into what are often miserable, lonely, boring lives forever marred by the oft inevitable and always unstoppable degradation of the body and mind.

Used to be that our elders would die surrounded by loving family, having spent their final years imparting their wisdom and experiences to our children.

euthanasia is pure evil. I rememeber a thread not too long ago on this forum where in Europe or something a old woman agreed to euthanasia but then she changed her mind but the doctor actually forcibly grabbed her and forced the shot into her arm that killed her, while her family was there watching! Against her will they forced her to be euthanasised! And I speciifcally remeber that Joe Biden was still running for President at that time and get this, THE WOMAN WAS YOUNGER THAN JOE BIDEN WAS AT THAT TIME!!!!!! THEY FORCED EUTHANASIA ON A WOMAN IN EUROPE BECAUSE SHE WAS OLD BUT SHE WAS YOUNGER THAN JOE BIDEN !!!!!! SO DONT YOU FUCKING TELL ME FOR A SECOND THAT ITS NOT EVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well it depends on how sick you are, really. Have to give a shout-out to hospitals not giving a fuck about their patients when the weekend comes around though. Even in emergency care they'll have individual nurses in charge of multiple rooms and no specialists of any sort. It's disgraceful.

It always starts out for the terminally ill dying seniors, but it doesn't tend to stay in terminally ill dying seniors.

Oftentimes they gradually start adding in other groups that are not even terminally ill, like severely disabled, severely chronically ill, intractable depression, intractable alcoholism or drug addiction, then severely depressed, chronically ill, and so on down the line, even involving children. There arises a coercive 'duty to die' towards the elderly or a push by insurance companies towards euthanasia rather then treating you for an 'expensive' chronic illness.

It becomes the means to a legal culling of the herd to cut corners and increase profits, and to kill off those deemed inconvenient and expensive and 'burdens.'

It's what's going on right now in the countries that have legalized it, people voted in these laws thinking they were going to help dying old people when in reality it proved to be one of those slippery slope things.

I saw the headline and thought, "Surely that can't be right. Surely this was posted because KiwiFarmerSimulator2021 knows the word filters better than I do and saw an interesting word substitution."

Then I clicked the archive.

And I was disappointed in the world.

It's like that episode of Futurama that had suicide booths that required a credit check with good credit-- utterly pointless on the surface but in this case, it's so they can sell another dose of the vaccine paid for by the state.

I've seen this a few times but it's always uncited. I'm not saying you're lying, but I would really appreciate some evidence.

It's called not eating. If you want to die, do it yourself and don't involve anyone else. Same as abortion. Women should be left alone in a quiet room with a coat hanger and a cross on the wall.
well not eating is a horrible way to go. this is to prevent people from finding elderly relatives hanging in their homes.
having professionals do it is the better way for everybody involved.

The problem is you haven't seen people waiting to die in pure pain and nobody is allowed to give them more painkillers because someone figured out that the staff has compassion and made " mistakes" to end their life . Also end term care, nursing homes and various similar facilities are money makers for the healthcare system . Either way with drop of the labour force eventually we will reach the same level long term care for people is too expensive and there will be just no money left for it. The most humane thing to do is to euthanize both for their families and the person getting it.

This is why you need a fanatical hobby.

Grandpa went down the hill too. I am enough of a warhammer fanatic that I'll be fine as long as I can play vidia amd watch anime tiddies.

That said this is silly.
Conspiratards say it is redundant to euthanise the vaccinated, and I say it is redundant to waste medicine on the suicidal.

There are counter-incentives. I thought drug companies wanted to keep you alive and uncured for as long as possible?

The decision stems from a court case involving a 64-year-old doctor who carried out the assisted suicide in 2016.

After being diagnosed with Alzheimer's four years before she died, the unnamed patient wrote a statement saying that she wanted to be euthanised before entering a care home, but adding that she wanted to decide "while still in my senses and when I think the time is right"

Before she was taken into care, a doctor decided that assisted suicide should be administered based on her prior statement. This was confirmed by two separate doctors independently.

When the day came to end the woman's life, a sedative was put in her coffee and she lost consciousness.

But the woman then woke up and had to be held down by her daughter and husband while the process was finished.

I've watched loved ones die a neuron at a time from dementia. If that indescribable hell happens to me and I can't bring myself to end it myself, I can only hope that someone else loves me enough to put me out of my misery.
