tl;dr: Beidou chain lightning only triggers on normal atk dmg and Raiden's burst slashes are technically burst dmg. It will still proc xinqiu swords since those come out on swing animation and you don need to dmg anything.

This is very lame considering that's the one duo i (and everyone) was planning to rock lol. Maybe it can still work but you cant burst with raiden during beidou's burst since you'll simply waste beidou.

Edit: Watching reddit freakout of this and calling it a bug / nerf makes me feel a little better about myself. I'm not very good at genshin but at least i know how the game actually works lol.

As if mihoyo didn't fuck over people who pulled for Baal enough, the boss that drops her ascension mats is incredibly obnoxious.

Also r/SignoraMains is seething like crazy because their waifu ded :)

Just based on looks I would have assumed Sara was 5* and Raiden was 4*.
 
Didnt people hate Raiden's leaked design so much they refused to believe it was real? And then refusing to accept she was a spear user? And then refusing to accept she's niche at best? She has a history in copium lol. Either way i dont think her design is that great either. Venti and zhongli are, for better or worse, pretty iconic while Raiden seems like a very weak design with generic kuudere personality (didnt see her story yet).

And while her burst not working Beidou sounding like the most anti-fun shit ever, that's the price you have to pay for how those skills work. If swordmode doesnt count as "burst damage" (changed from beta) then she doesnt benefit from The Catch and severed fate 4pc. If Beidou's burst works in real time like Xinqiu then she cant snapshot with Sara and bennet. I genuinely cant see how the devs can make "fix" this without reworking one of their bursts.

btw², Thoma's kit leaked and he's...

A pyro hp shielder + pyro self infuse with a burst that creates the same shield (that stacks) plus cone fire waves once per second as you attack, working just like xinqiu's. Dont know his energy regen and ICDs but sounds useful for reverse vape/melt and hu tao maybe?

Ah damn, this reminds that Xinqiu is on starglitter shop this month. Should i buy him now or wait for a miracle? Everytime i ask this question, people tell me "dont buy characters with starglitter, jsut play long enough and you'll get every 4* c6" but that's starting to sound like some fake urban legend.
 
@LucasSomething - it’s not letting me quote you, but I’d say go for grabbing Xin off the Starglitter if you really want him. Usually I’d say prioritize weapons on that thing - they have some decent hitters rotating in and out - but I swear some characters actively avoid people who actually want them...
 
I really like how the new archon/5 star/gullible meat robot character plays, but I'm probably not gonna end up rolling her as I miss event charactes usually and I pay fucking nothing for this game lmao. If I do it'll be cool though, it's really neat that they added a character that's big gimmick/effect is buffing other characters and dishing out high ass sord damage stuff. Speaking of which I like how she's got the whole thing childe, another character I missed on has in the sense that she does a move that changes her weapon to another weapon. She's both a sword and spear user without actually having to equip a sword and spear separately, it's really fucking cool.

I was kind of blown away by this update in general compared to the previous lore update, the cutscenes get really fucking cool by the end . The lore pretty much ended up exactly what was hinted, which might not be everyone's favorite deal ,but I appreciated the delivery.

I think the most important thing is the fact you at one point watch a dude get his life force fucking sapped by the bootleg visions the fatui were distributing for profit. At first I thought it was just the fucking snake corpse island curse spreading but no it's fucking star wars prequel "the bad guys are gaming both sides of the conflict for their own gains" kinda shit. Thatwas one of the best aspects of those movies so I mean there's no problem with it really, always a cool plot device.

5* pity comes down how far you were into it, you can sit at 89 rolls so the next "first one" will be a 5*.
as for 4* you have to remember they don't have a pity, only increased chance. over time you'll most likely max all of them (although I'm still stuck at c4 noelle and are quite unlucky with ning too), that's usually longer than most people are willing to wait, and when you compare the chars to what else is in the shop imo there's not much choice. weapons are meh, even more so when you buy the BP, 1/10 4* which is the same as ~1/7 of the offered 4* (and some of them are only really reliably to get from there unless you want to build kaeya off the standard banner).

personally I'm a bit torn on maxing 4*, since you'll inevitably roll doubles, which can lead to fun banners where you already have 2 chars at c6 "wasting" primos.

feels like they didn't learn anything from geo ceo, and worse it's shit they could've prevented by now even if the change makes sense - just release fucking dendro and balance with every element available and go from there, not try to "balance" chars without it and "possible" future interactions. worse dendro is an amplifier/utility element (like electro), good luck trying to make it worthwhile and balanced since they won't be able to nerf chars people whaled for.

or their system simply doesn't allow for constellation-less chars and too much hassle to code it for a promo char, so they just fill it with something.

considering there isn't really any other mega japenese bitch in genshin (besides your usual shrine maiden) I don't see the issue.

@ZMOT - it isn’t letting me quote that post about them not programming the game for characters without Constellations (Null, fix your shit, you’re not Zuckerburg you’re actually competent), but yeah that seems to be the most likely outcome. I just like to have hope - the fact that, of all fucking games, a Chinese Gacha game is the only thing that’s really failed to really disappoint me says a lot nowadays...

Then again, I also play FGO, I’m used to soul crushing disappointment

might be related to post length, dunno if it's a bug or feature.

as for disappointment, better take the indiepill. can't remember the last AAA game where it didn't feel "meh" to some degree (but then I count stuff like control as AA and remedy gets a free pass anyway).

And the fact I’ve had significantly more fun playing a Free to Play Gacha game more than “The Best the Industry can do” says a lot about the state of modern vidya...
 
There was some thoma gameplay on reddit but i finally found it on youtube. His normal attack animations are sick. I think his finisher is the same spear throw he does in the cutscene lol.


For some reason i couldnt reply to some users here before. I think i'll buy xinqiu with starglitter afterall, i was hoping to get the crit dmg sword or claymore but it sucks how my two main dps need him to be #optimal.

Also changed my mind and i wont roll anymore since i kinda hated raiden. Finally did her trial and her gameplay felt extremely boring. Even her sword combo, while flashy, uses the same exact animations as the spear so what's the point. You either do a melee combo or you do a melee combo. Her charge attack doesnt launch up like i hoped either. I know Diluc isnt "complex" as her but at least you can mixup his skills and combos for variety.

Sara on the other hand was less janky than i hoped? You press E, do a charge attack "bomb", switch, take the "bomb boost" and snapshot burst. Sounds awkard but her E effect last 18 secodns so you can cast it way early. She's hard to use and obviously worse than bennet but i expected much worse.

BTW if anyone wants to get The Catch spear, i found this short and sweet guide about the fishing spots. You need to fish 9 medakas to trade the bait blueprints. Fish take 3 days to respawn so it might take 2+ weeks to R5.

This shit’s why my games set to having me confirm before people join my world. I managed to get Raiden, but I view Genshin more as a character collector than anything else, so I’m not too put out that she’s rather shit - that’s Electro in a nutshell, unless you’re Razor and just do Caveman strats. That said, she’s definitely further back on my list of characters to build, but thankfully Ganyu and Klee should be able to do enough damage to not make what’s essentially an Electro Oceanid more annoying than absolutely necessary...

Combine electro with fire and ice character moves, maybe put some wind swirly shit in there too. enemies die instantly like a fly in a bug zapper. The big gimmick with raiden shogun AKA baal AKA e-i-e-i-o AKA beetlejuice is how she buffs party members and has an incredibly powerful move that you neeed to build the move meter thing to trigger. Not for everyone but for someone like me who's constantly flipping between party members to stay alive or do significant damage? Fucking incredible.

Unrelated but i'll try world hopping and see if people let me fish so i get that spear done as soon as possible. I'm brazilian with [BR] on my username and i NEVER find other brazilian players so i hope this wont be harder than it needs to be.
