I think it's still way too early to call anything. I remember when Dottore fans on Twitter were complaining like hell that he was going to get killed off like that only for him to appear again. These types of people have a habit of making things sound worse than they actually are.
I mean it's also possible that the Tsaritsa lied to the other Harbingers about killing Dottore and authorized Pantalone to handle whatever he's doing in Sumeru. IIRC that part where it was said that Dottore issued the Palestar Edict was a mistranslation: the original was actually that Dottore was abusing it (which to some is probably the same thing) but the Tsaritsa may also be partially responsible for letting him do it to advance whatever she has planned by letting him burn Irminsul.
The only real hope for any change is if the CN playerbase gets too uppity and starts threatening people like what happened with Neuvilette's spin.
To be fair, he has a few side choices but those come with caveats.
Furina + escofie are good but by now you're playing a worse skirk.
Bennet + xiangling are good but now you're playing a worse Wriothesley (i assume lohen can't enable xingling).
Mavuika subdps is really good but now you're playing mavuika as subdps.
I don't think you realize just how raped lohen is without dedicated sub-dps units and top tier investment. A good chunk of his kit revolves around the triumph mechanic where his allies do more damage than him which in turn gives him buffs. Furina + esco? I guess? He's not a freeze unit plus furina scales on hp and esco's worth doesn't come from her off field atk bonus (the little cooker mech thingy). Bennet is even worse because he only buffs on-field/lohens atk meanwhile xiangling is a downgrade of durin and she can't trigger hex passives. Same with mauvika, except she has the natlan racism nightsoul mechanic so she's not as cucked as xiangling. The only other viable units who can fill lohens niche are emily and maybe fischl (possible stellar conduct shilling)? Even so adding more hex units like fish stick is redundant because you already have your hex buffs and fishy might mess with the reactions. picrel durins hex passive. I have no clue if mauvika can top this since I don't like mauvika and don't main her.
The calcs you see of him doing big number damage is just him melting durin's dark form hits. Their application time and windows are roughly the same which means lohen can melt or reverse melt all of durins hits. This lines up with his cons who are actually standard banner tier bad. Up to c3 and c4 iirc only buffs his driving and does nothing to buff his DPS damage. I genuinely have no idea what they were trying to do with this nigga. He's too specialised and niche to be a standard banner but his investment celling is too high to him to even be a decent mid limited DPS unit. Even more confusing when you remember they didn't include wrio in the current fontaine chronicled banner so seemingly lohen isn't here to powercreep wrio?
Weapon wise he has 3* white tassel (usable with bennet/nicole atk buff) and jade spear if you have one, can use some stat sticks too (homa, buzzsaw, arle spear etc). Nicole has oathsworn (3+ year old event weapon hope you got that one!) or atlas if you got unlucky.
nah durin actually needs his signature to work semi-decently. I saw some calcs floating around and the difference is night and day. Definitely don't expect "skirk level numbers" without having his and nicoles signatures plus a few cons (allah willing). Durins cons are actually insane (picrel, c1 btw), if you wanna whale lohen then getting nicoles or durins cons would be a way better way of throwing your money away vertically investing than whatever nonsense lohens cons are.
nicole likewise needs triple ATK and 4000 total atk to max out her buffs. This is honkai tier kit design (which wouldn't be an issue if the game wasn't so fucking oy vey stingy with the pulls) and I'm genuinely second guessing whether to pull for nicole at this point or to save pulls for furinas c2/sandrone.
He's not actually dehya tier, his numbers are still better than ayaka but at least ayaka works alone while Lohen doesn't. He mostly exist to be a cryo enabler for dps durin, and durin really wants nicole and even then this team is not even close to zibai premium.
Going back to more rambles, this is one of the stingiest patches in a long time, giving only 60 rolls in it's entirety for f2p. I also found out that they are REDUCING the gems you get from main event and moving them to miliastra bullshit events
This version also doesnt have a free weapon, it has a free weapon skin... that is the same as a previous weapon, the melusine claymore.
They probably allocated a good chunk of the genshin team to work on miliastra and are thus moving more rewards and khaantent to miliastra. Like I really want these 60 primos but I can't figure out what this shit means because the miliastra UI gives me a headache whenever I see it.
