Anyone played HSR 4.0? What's the deal with Sparkle and Sparxie? Advanced schizophrenia, someone larping or other forms of advanced autism?

and while Silver Wolf 2.0 is tempting me, I still won't return to your boring space VN Shaoji until you apologize

To cast her illusion magick and to impersonate other people, Sparkle creates masks which can be imbued with or achieve their own sentience and personhood. Sparkle discards these masks after she is done using them. After the Penacony arc, Sparkle went home to Planarcadia and decided to try a stint as being a streamer called Sparxie. After the novelty began to wear off, she (the real Sparkle) wanted to try multitasking, so she created a persona mask to become her streamer self and run the streaming part for her while the real Sparkle would run around doing other things.

This mask she created (Sparxie) had strong enough willpower and ambition to deviate from the plan, and now wants to eliminate Sparkle and become the only Sparkle. At one point in the story, Sparxie captures Sparkle and attempts to gaslight Sparkle into thinking that Sparkle is actually a mask discarded by Sparxie, and that Sparxie is the real one (kind of like The Prestige where the guy doesn't know if he's the real or the replica he just made). Sparxie also tries to guilt Sparkle into suicide by having retrieved the other sad, crying sentient masks that Sparkle created and then abandoned.

Sparxie winds up being the end antagonist of the 4.0 story, though not the big bad but rather just one of the five other remaining contestants in the battle royale to become an aeon. Sparxie wants to become an aeon because when Sparkle created her, she imbued Sparxie with the desire to make everyone happy. Being a streamer, Sparxie knows that people idolize her and think that she lives a better life than the 9-to-5ers. So Sparxie's plan is to spread a contagious virus that brainwashes people into a Sparxie hivemind so that everyone becomes the great and beloved Sparxie. Sparkle and Sparxie beat each other up. We eliminate Sparxie from the contest, and then the two become friends.

In the end, Sparkle might not be the real Sparkle and might actually just be another discarded mask. We might not have ever seen the real Sparkle, or whoever was the originator of this sad self-replicating line of naughty girls.

I genuinely hate that they added a small reunion quest with all of the cute little autists we did quests with just to show off this outfit before asking to buy it.

A lead writer on HSR. The Honkai Impact 3rd fanbase kept hyping him up because he wrote an arc there. In HSR, it was announced that he would be writing the Amphoreus arc, so the HL3 fans started saying it would be the best thing ever.

What we got is a very poorly written story on a moment to moment basis. It's a 60 hour long arc that feels like an absolute slog to go through, and I had difficulty mustering up the motivation to finish it. There are so, so, so many pointless dialogue scenes in which nothing actually happens. And character has to talk like a poet with long winded metaphors.

Fortunately 4.0 mostly does not do that aside from the part where Sparxie is gaslighting Sparkle in the hospital. There are relatively fewer filler convos and characters speak directly. 4.0 was much more entertaining to go through (I thought the "Xianzhou's #1 Top Assassin" part was funny).

I now have the faintest of hopes the story might be interesting enough to return, but I've got other games to finish in the mean time.

What the fuck is going on? Timeloops? Okay so-No wait, it's the fucking Matrix. The whole thing was the matrix and no one actually died because they were never real in the first place. Except for Cyrene.exe and that's only one of the three versions of her.

"Real" is relative since the one "real" version is a computer program that skinwalked a little girl after living it up as a Sylveon reject, then transformed to a grown ass woman but also exists outside of time, so she's always been here also.

So does it actually matter-Yes it does. If we don't stop Irontomb.exe from deleting AmphoreusOS, it's gonna blue screen reality itself.

Wait but at the final battle, Irontomb did actually delete realityOS and infected the matrix with a virus called THE WORLD FUCKING ENDING-yeah but Cyrene.exe, as a legendary computer program-I mean Eminator of Rememberance reversed that shit via total system restore and reinstalled realityOS so it reversed itself.

Wait what? What is actually going-Destruction. Destruction and Nanook are going on. With a side order of Nous, that gave birth to Irontomb.

I am so goddamn thankful that Shaoji took that shit and stepped back come 4.0. Please, man. I'm on all fours. I beg you, PLEASE DO NOT RUIN IT. YOU GOT SOMETHING GOOD.

People are also getting pretty vocal about Eva here being a potential love interest for TB. I have no idea where they got that from but we'll see.
 
Oh hey more Silver Wolf nice, she was one of my favorite 1.x characters, shame for her to function you'll need E1 and her lightcone like all the other characters released since 2.x
 
Does this mean a therta reruns coming along now? I read somewhere about how silverwoof something something erudition BiS for madam herta. I'm still new to honkai star of david rail so i wouldn't know.

Therta is powercreeped to shit in AS and MoC (literally pick something else lol) and at this rate, she's gonna get powercreeped in PF. Your best bet is to roll for the new DPS and pray to god that their sig is skippable (hint: it actually isn't). Bronya Silver Wolf SP is looking to be the main push, so she's probably gonna be cracked like Castorice was in 3.x. Having said that, I kinda gave up after 3.8 and literally only log back in to clear endgame nodes so my read on the meta might not be correct

Not sure what they expected, especially after how Cygames treated Priconne Re:dive's global release, and forces people to use a VPN to continue to play Priconne. Granblue Faggotry is a shitty game anyways, so nothing of value lost.

By the end of 4.0, pretty much none of this was true, Sparkle and Sparxie did all this to let the trailblaze know how dangerous the phantasmoon games were and how much the IPC had ruined the planet by making it corporate. They wiped their own memories to make it more believable and cuz it was funny

He is NOT GOOD but against this one boss he works because the boss -40% anemo res and requires crowd control, so if you attack with venti you save a slot for a subdps or buffer. It actually used to have -90% beta meaning venti was way better than varka against it so they buffed it. This was still way too close and so was ayaka. Can't mess up the rotations even once..

I wonder if Albedo would be better than faruzan here now that his dmg is legit and he would buff venti+durin... but i don't want to roll on monstat scam banner and he's probably stuck there until it reruns 2 years later. I fear that Varka may be added to monstat scam banner one day and his claymore will too.

btw there are new mecharashi codes for ARTHUR and CASSHA. Both are skips and niche as hell so it's a save patch.
 
I managed to Albedo from Chronicled so I have another 5* Geo other than John Lee and Traveler doesn't count. Hurray!

For once I also won that goddamn 50/50 in Endfield and I did it early so now I got Tangtang. I'd like to save shit but I need to pull to get her weapon so I did two ten-pulls and got 2 6* weapons and neither of them are the sig of the stupid cat bitch.

Fuck me.

On the other hand, I finished Luuk's quest, and you can tell they didn't put nearly as much effort into it as they did Temu Cyrene. It's a Castorice/Anaxa situation where one part reeks of effort and the other is an afterthought. A shame, really.
