I presumed Genshin's despite it's flaws, making a one 5 star unit and one 4 star unit per patch, is better then making only two 5 stars?

Tho I've heard this will create a similar issue with Manato, where people wish he was an S unit rather then an A unit, so idk.

Writing for that recent dragonspine event made me groan. Very repetitive, lots of weird established lore breaking shit that basically has my issue of every fantasy world slowly turning into FUCKING MODERN DAY CALIFORNIA but there were still some good moments. Weird that windtrace was lumped into it when it's usually it's own standalone thing, and the other minigames were just weirdly watered down jankier versions of previous mini game events.


Dragonspine being just "hehe haha relay race" is really fucking weird given the sad/meloncoly music and all the area quests and npcs which are STILL AT THE BASE CAMP are super serious about how fucking scary inhospitable the area is with t he only people willing to go there are determined researchers, criminal guilds, fatui, or actual monsters. Even weirder still that the race got lost because you see someone inured when you're required to run directly alongside the npc that stops to help the guy. You could have easily just gone " keep going I'll handle this" which is what most stuff WOULD do but no, the npcs that were like nowhere near you tot he point they stop spawning in after a while to showcase how fast your guys are compared to the competition are conveniently just there going super slow default jog in a region that can and will KILL YOU if you do that.

EDIT: also really nonsensical the event weapon wasn't even related to the region and was just a character-specific weapon for a character who WASN'T EVEN IN THE EVENT. Guess the cabbages REALLY needed tending to that day.

"fixed?" Wait is this like for everything or just an event outfit? The entire reason i picked the guy was because I though he looked more recognizable and as I played the game realized his appearance was probably what was intended given the contrast and his gold/brown theming paralleling his partner's white and rose gold. Lumine's color scheme is blue and white and dainslief's is blue and black to pair it with the other travelling duo. Original design is good, this if it's not an alt is just horrible.

The game literally looks the same as it did when it came out what the fuck is this weird bullshit about his model being "old" as if that changes shit?

Anyways looking into it it's an alt outfit apparently which means It's fine. There's been a shitload of teased or leaked alt outfits for the player character in genshin over the years it's been going ever since they added alt outfits and I'm fucking shocked none of them made it in. I like the design, just not as a default look.
 
The latest event showed it best, during the group fist bump scene you could see the traveler's model textures are blurry as shit compared to newer characters.

That wasn't like that in my game lmao. Might be a rendering error which the game is constantly fileld with when loading in textures. Sometimes happens during cutscenes.

What do you mean until the rerun, what if the player, f2p or not, doesn't want the signature lc lol. This should be a choice not an obligation. It's been confirmed to be 6 cones.

btw new star rail leaks are happening. Elations is kinda weird, seems like elation units generate "comedy stacks" that eventually leads to a global "punch line" attack that does not scale with damage bonus, meaning some units like ruan mei and robin don't work with them. Get really for lunar shenanigans that make previous supports you rolled for worthless boys.

Sparkle buff was really simple, her skill and buff last more turns, she has more energy, she generates 6 SP and is neutral on top of her dmg buff changing to vulnerability.

Black Swan got updated to modern standards too, which means they basically removed all her kit restrictions. You can go past 50 stacks for extra dmg, stacks are halved instead of reset, she gets as many stacks possible from dot detonations, her technique and all attacks now apply defense shred from skill, they can put 5 stacks at once and her dmg buff conversion is for the whole team. Thats it.

Fun fact, the units from Natlan onwards are not only literally better textured, they have bigger load weight (1600) in the teapot. Mavuika has highest one at 2000.
 
I lost the 50/50 on Dahlia the queen of retcons to Blade, which is fine because I like Blade and I have his LC fully built. I need to get Mydei's LC whenever he reruns, though.

Either way, LINGSHA IS NOW GUARANTEED. HURRAY

Also got a Hela part in Mecharashi because I'm finally doing well with the weekly raids. For some reason, I never noticed the little notification regarding upgrades for your runs, so I upgraded like a madman.

Well, I mean, it ultimately depends on what the stats and effects are. No, they aren't obligated to pull the sigs, but there should at least be some decent 4* options imo.

Either way, that's just me. Let's agree to disagree on that.

Not surprised that Yao guang is only good for Elations units especially SparDPS, obviously makes it hard to pull her if you either don't care about Elation team, or don't like SparDSP.

Say what you want about Guinaifen, you can easily forget her being a quirky streamer, unlike what the fack they did.

Also really getting sick of this fake AI leak "News"

It's hoyo's new MO and it makes me unexcited for everything. If i want yaoguang i need an elation dps and if i want an elation dps i need yao guang, unless the next one doesn't work with yaoguang but a newer elation support anyway, and everyone here needs their sig cones.

edit: Looking now, i realize that Elation is a path literally designed to basically be played only with itself because elation units all feed AHA stacks and do something when the thing happens. Sparxie cone literally makes you stronger for each elation unit too but there is only 2 yet so that is the plan. They made a "new class" that somehow has less idendity than rememberance and is made from ground up to be restricted. Wow...

I once browsed Hoyo leaks outside the subreddit and it's wild how people just make shit up to absurdity. I saw so many "leaker" accounts on twitter saying xbalanque and madame ping was coming every patch...

And unrelated but i'm not sure i like elation game loop. All of sparxie moves are like sped up autistic stimming colorvomit tiktok brainrot played straight. Watching this made my eyes hurt.


Just put the subway surfer footage in the corner for the zoomers at this point.

I know the elation gameplay has gotten tons of hate (understandably so), but I like it, it's definitely the incremental autism in me though, I just love these sort of "closed system" classes where they all feed into and use a single resource (in this case building the AHA), it's like a perpetual motion machine.

Okay so from the last trailer, graphics have improved quite a lot. There's actually fucking people in the city now. I am a little bit suspicious of the environment graphics, as it is giving me Watch Dogs flashbacks. You know, that one Ubisoft game that got a lot of shit because they lied at their E3 presentation regarding the graphics and is probably the reason why all trailers since then have a disclaimer about how the footage is not guaranteed to reflect the actual game.

That aside, the graphics though still look really....hmmm

Something about her face really bothers me. I suppose it's because it looks really lifeless. Not DNA levels of lifeless but still off-putting.

Animations have improved greatly too. Sure, it's annoyingly bouncy now, but it does feel somewhat more coherent in how it moves when compared to the beta, where MC's hair was all over the place.

This might be a bit of a hot take: Genshin is one of the very few games in which a somewhat reasonable and sound argument could be made for making the skin tone of certain characters much darker in fanworks and fanart than what they are in game.
The characters such reasoning could be applied to would be characters that are inspired from cultures whose people have darker skin tone. For example, Mavuika. Mavuika is named after the Maori fire goddess Mahuika - the Polynesian skin tone is around a golden brown color. A similar case could be made for Ororon, whose name may be from the supreme god and ruler of the sky in Yoruba mythology, Olorun, and as such it is somewhat reasonable to portray him as black or having a dark skin tone.

This doesn’t apply to all characters. Where this reasoning falls apart is when you make black edits of characters like Furina or Ganyu, who come from French and Chinese cultures respectively - it’s just straight up inaccurate and it’s pretty much being done for brownie points. Just my opinion, and in any case it’s pretty easy to block such artists that you may feel inject their politics into the game doing stuff like that.
