It does play a lot like WuWa movement-wise. You can jump and sprint, although you cannot climb, but in order to battle enemies, you will need to attack them as in HSR. One thing to note. Evidently, character elements are tied to exploration mechanics, so a "green element" character can create a current for you to fly through and reach a higher point.

Now onto the battle system. Like your average JRPG, it's turned-based by speed. Your skill points from HSR are MP. You have two attacks. Basic and skill. For most characters, they can attack or they can use MP to enhance their main attack so it becomes a skill like in Star Rail. Using three MP enhancements is an ult. Also yes, you recover MP by using non enhanced basic attacks. For the elf bitch, it's healing but she also does damage becuase she killed an enemy after I used her ult to heal my team. That flew over my head.

Also important to note if you're too used to Star Rail's ult system, there's a cooldown based on turns. So you have to wait three turns before you can use your ult again. That's the little symbol you see on the left of the characters. I just used fox bitch's ult, hence the 3.
Lemme tell you something. The animation for the MC's ult is actually really fucking lame. There is no animation actually. You get a visual and then a cut to black and boom enemies are dead. The fuck? Lmao.
Addendum: this is actually a glitch appearently becuase later on it works fine. It was just kinda jaring at first between MC and fox bitch and HER stuff.
It does have a few glitches. Like whatever the fuck this is.

Side note: This is fox bitch.

I capitalized HER becuase her name is Jeremiah and at one point, before her introduction, the writing reffers to her with male pronouns but she's very obviously female, even got tits so it's not a femboy situation. I'm guessing this is a translation error.
Anyway, much like Star Rail, you do weakness break on enemies, but it is actually tied to what type of enemy it is and what types your characters are. Becuase, unlike Star Rail, where you have the option to use two or more types to break toughness, enemies only have one type.
So think Pokemon. Fire burns grass types, water douses fire types, etc. They have an in-game guide about it. I get the feeling I'll need to use this a lot.

Also here's something interesting. All characters have passives. Here's the one for the first three you get.
Main character: DMG increase by 30% when attacking toughness broken enemies.
Elf Bitch: Heals 5% of max HP for everyone every turn.
Fox Bitch: Each time an enemy is attacked, her "effectiveness" is increased by 2.4% and can stack 10 times.
Regarding the MP, you start with five at every battle but you can actually have ten at max. With the way the MP is designed, I think this was necessary. Imagine the nightmare if you were forced to have five at max when your characters can consume two per turn at least.
Also, this is nice, you can go back on using MP points or ults if you regret your tactic. Finally, I don't know if this is just because I'm going through the prologue right now, but you heal after every battle.
