Not necessarily. It has been mentioned in the thread before but they are looking at talent outside the US. Think it's a British studio this time. So even though everyone will be Bri'ish, it was brought to my attention that British VAs are classically trained so we might get people with standards and talents and not SAG FAG HAGs.

Alternatively, we might also get another twat who pronounces Yuan as YOU ANN. Yes, I'll take the puzzle pieces.

British VAs are still just as bad politically speaking. They're like Hollywood shitlibs, just worse.

This little nigga i pulled from some blind bag
Her name is Puca, even a World quest starts with her.

I doubt MHY cares much about replacing VAs unless they did something horrible like a crime. Otherwise, it's now up to Side Global decision to be sympathetic or not to these annoying losers.
Sag-Aftra got community note hard and they even have to push a news piece to tell everyone being informed about the strike. Yet no mention about the part they got community note.

I have shouted into the abyss for a long-ass time that SAG is one of the biggest reasons English VA work is held to a lower standard and spoken about with disdain by most of the gaming and anime communities.
Considering how woke USA have been last few years. I notice few anime recently, just because an androgynous or not-so gender-typocal characters in anime. They immediately having the need to cast troons for these roles instead. I'm not sure if Sag-Aftra also "conveniently" pushes for. Therefore, more VAs have the need to tag them as non-binary so they get more roles. Because even being a nigger isn't good enough nowadays.

Hikami from Bride Nina (voice clip in VA thread), Takaihito from My Happy Marriage, Namari from DunMeshi (that Marin Miller - Little Kuriboh wife, and Hades 2 drama), Nene from Komi-san (also DunMeshi Chillchuck). It's ear-bleeding to hear.

Edit: EN Paimon VA sperging on the wrong matter. TL:DW "me, me, union good, union pay, others are liars".
How about stop being a retard and somehow having $10k medical debt.

Half-assed joining in on the English VA talk from @Iselda

I've gotten the habit of looking up the English voices of some characters and I will agree Dr. Ratio is generally great. Aventurine, not so much.

As opposed to March who sounds shrill and annoying, Himeko who's fucking boring, or Blade who can't pronounce "Yuan" or the "liu" part of "Jingliu" the right way. In fact he and Boothill have the "trying to sound 2kewl4skool" problem that makes me pine for their JP voices for a mile because they sound fucking tryhard in English. EN Boothill's dialog being fucking cringe tiktok zoomer garbage just makes it worse. And I fucking love Boothill.

At least English VA Heng knows how to pronounce Chinese names.

Also I have come to understand that EN Kafka has her fans but something about it just makes it hard for me to take seriously.

I do have a fondness for Grandpas Welt and Jing Yuan since I think it fits their aged weary selves though the former seems to be incapable of sounding threatening so his combat lines are kinda meh.

For the Genshin side, I have a strong dislike for EN Diluc who sounds like a SoCal douche, EN Collei who is extremely high-pitched and annoying, and Clorinde and Wrio who are really boring.

I hear-tell, they gave some of the Fontaine cast a garbage accent.

Anyway, I have high hopes for when MHY tells the SAG FAGs to kick rocks and get some actual talented people on board who don't waste time sperging out on twitter.
March 7th is an interesting case. The same actress voices Citlali in english, and her performance is signifcantly better than as March 7th. She's still not amazing, but is miles better as Citlali. IDK who dropped the ball here, but something went horribly wrong with the HSR casting or direction.

I can forgive Boothill's performance because his actor is clearly trying to make the best of a WTF script in a lot of his scenes. From what I can tell, his lines are a little screwy in every language. I think there's a lore bit about something broken with the universal translator for him. It entirely possible my brain just fabricated that out of thin air though.

Kafka is another interesting case. I think her combat lines sound great, but her delivery in story scenes can be downright awful.

Hard agree with EN Diluc. Dliucs lines always feel like the delivery is off in some way when I hear them.

I found the Fontaine cast to be consistently "mid" to "good". Navia has the occasional awkward read, but no performances stand out in my memory as outright awful.

I think Hoyo has a thing where gameplay lines are recorded much earlier in a vaacum than story voice lines, which can lead to a few bizarre personality gaps in some characters.

Diluc's va once said that he first voiced diluc lines with no context so he thought Diluc was an arrogant edgy character and it ended sounding like he hates his own life, when in reality diluc is a bit edgy but still very heroic.

Neuvilete VA also said he initially thought the character was a loud god who must judge mortals so that's why english combat lines are shouts while other VAs are much more calm.

Some stuff with EN VA is straight up wrong tho. Childe is one of the worst offenders where the english directors made him a sociopath who loves killing and "absolutely detests" those weaker than him.

I dont know if it's "artistic liberty" to make characters funnier or something. Ayato got it really bad cause in english he sounds extremely snobish and like Itto disgusted him (they changed this line). In Japanese it's more clear that Ayato is more "clueless but polite".

Star Rail also makes some random personality shifts, like english Seele somehow whining about teaming up with Luka and english topaz whining about teaming up with aventurine, presumably cause sassy = funny.

You have to either be a girl and/or a humongous degenerate loser to play this, and the sheer amount of anime avatars tells me all of you fellas are the latter.
This piece of garbage mobile "game" (but I repeat myself) is the quintessential gacha time and money sink that offers no satisfying gameplay or ending to it and just keeps virgins like you addicted to your screens with anime coomer bait for hours and even days on end. Crawl out of your mothers' basements for once.
Again, if you find yourself """playing""" Gayshit Fagpact, stop and think about what you've become. It's never too late to take a shower.

Is that why the Fandom has such a hate boner for him?
I think it has more to do with what his va did online. He once made the hot cheeto girl edit or how is it even called and people called him racist. It got to the point where he went to the hospital and people were happy or wished he never came back in the place. There was also smaller drama back in late 2020/early 2021 where people got butthur over him liking chilumi. Least stupid genshin ship drama.

Dont give (You)s give Ignore.
And after a while i dropped ZZZ and Star Rail i cant no more play more than 1 gacha i guess days of playing 5 at the same ish time are long past these old bones.
Also i wonder when will they add that Dandallion ?island?

Is that why the Fandom has such a hate boner for him?
He's still super popular but some people hate him on principle of being a villain who technically got away with almost destroying Liyue and hangs out with traveler. Then there are the shippers (childe/lumine is fairly popular) and people who hate his VA...

btw the monthly mobile gacha revenue released and tribe nine only made 600k, everyone is saying it's going to die, i will be sad if it does 😢. The devs need to monetize it better cause for now it's "too honest" and there is almost nothing to spend money.

Meanwhile pokecmon card game looks like shit and made almost 100 million. It's no wonder hoyo is developing their own pokemon-like gacha. WuWa did 20 million and actually passed ZZZ so it's gonna be flex week for WuWa fans.

I can't find this statement anywhere, so I think this is just a rumor.
It's on Weibo or BiliBili. Chinese players were straight-up asked by Redditors due to being silenced (as per this, posts are now back up & Reddit jannies are slowly releasing them back after the auto-mod turned them all down for a review process. I don't honestly believe this, it's Reddit we're talking about) & the chinks responded.

As per that video, the CN players are inviting these Reddit users to XHS (Chinese Reddit), where since they're being silenced on Reddit, so that the CN players and EN players can communicate directly.

This even led to an entire song against SAG-AFTRA being made called "Saggy is Mean" by the suppressed Redditors. The song is AI generated possibly to mock SAG-AFTRA that partnered with Replica Studio.
PreserveTube/Ghost Archive

To make it even funnier, they made another song later.
PreserveTube/Ghost Archive

You can find all the details & further updates here (use this [A] if you don't want to use Twitter/X, but it will be outdated with future updates).

Also, Saints, a YouTuber who (supposedly, from what I've heard) may as well be a Genshin & Hoyo Hater, is calling out the VAs too.

Anyone here play R1999? I'd be tempted to give it another try since I hear so much praise for it, but I'm wondering how bad the powercreep is and if there'd still be a point getting older characters or if the game really wants you to always roll for the newest units? (I'm not endgame focused, but I don’t like it when a newish character I only just got gets made redundant only two or so patches later.)

Oh, how does the game handle past story events? Is there a way to play them if you missed them, or are the devs punishing you like is the case with Genshin?

They just released a new system called Euphoria. It's meant to buff older characters, and it some cases, can even change the way they play. Euphoria is end game content, so prepare.

You can also play old events. They release them every once in a while.

I'm probably doing this WuWa shit wrong because I am genuinely not interested in the story all nor do I really give much of a shit about the characters that get focused on. I like the side characters far more.

If anything the music is great and the world design is fantastic but I just cringe and roll my eyes at everything else.

The gameplay is fun too of course.

Thank God for the skip button and the summaries because I am so everyone and what the fuck else happens.
