I've forgotten to log into ZZZ for the last couple days and I've been oddly okay with it. That would make me free from all MHY games.
Don't know how the other two work because I don't got a system compatible with them but genshin impact specifically has that resin setup thing to prevent people from getting too addicted/over grindy to game stuff. Of course this doesn't matter to whales who just blow cash for rolls and never fucking play but hey hey it's something I guess.
My point is don't feel too much pressure to log in constantly.

The Wild Hunt
The armies of the Abyss sweep across the wilderness and canyons like a storm, and if you venture close enough, you may even hear their eerie whispers. These lost, soulless monsters appear to be silently searching for something...

Knights of Favonius
A small group of elite knights from the Mondstadt expeditionary force has followed their Grand Master across Snezhnaya, arriving in Nod-Krai. It is said that they have come on a crucial mission...

Voynich Guild
The merchants of Nasha Town formed a commerce guild to maintain basic order. However, how could the outlaws that prowl between the islands be controlled by something as simple as mere rules? It seems that the honor of striking fear into their hearts must go to the boss lady of the "Curatorium of Secrets"...

Treasure Hoarders
The Treasure Hoarders have since spread throughout the rest of Teyvat, but their origin in Nod-Krai remains a little-known fact. The "great treasure" left behind by Reed Miller, the legendary thief who yearned to create "a world without boundaries," is said to be buried somewhere here...

Snowland Fae
The fae who once followed the first Cryo Archon, the Belyi Tsar, ruling the Northlands in their entirety. Though now shorn of their former glory, they still influence the nation in their own ways. One can only guess what path they will take as calamity draws ever closer...

Adventurer's Guild
Ad astra abyssosque! The Guild's strong presence in an adventurer's paradise like Nod-Krai is only natural. A certain "important figure" from the Guild's headquarters is preparing to welcome you as a sign of respect...

Clink-Clank Krumkake Craftshop
It began as a small workshop that a certain prodigy used to research the "World's Best Krumkake Machine." But over time, after the creation of many intricate inventions, it gained a new identity as a famous machine workshop. Be sure to mind your manners when begging that genius for a favor, though, or whatever component she gives you might be liable to cough out a nasty krumkake at any time!

Fatui
The "Palestar Edict," that highest of commands, has gone out. With it, the Fatui Harbingers have been summoned back to Snezhnaya and dispatched to Nod-Krai. The people stare and wonder: for what purpose does this army, bearing the banner of the Pale Star, come to their city? Or perhaps the question should be, "For whom?"

Frostmoon Scions
The descendants of the legendary golden realm, who chose to find new homes among the mountains and forests after abandoning their ancient civilization. The only thing they never forsook was their faith in the "Moon Goddess." However, with the arrival of the Fatui, it appears that their tranquil lives are about to fade into the realm of yesterday...

Lightkeepers
The ancient organization that has long defended Nod-Krai's freedom and peace against the ceaseless încursions and Wild Hunt attacks launched by the Abyss, now severely weakened from battles past. In the face of new threats, none can say for sure if the new generation of Ratniki will remain able to carry out their mission...

Hexenzirkel
Located at the "edge" of the world, Nod-Krai has always been the stage where conflicts and dramas unfold, one after another - how could the Hexenzirkel possibly miss out on this golden opportunity?
I guess Nod-Krai in 6.X will follow the formula Natlan Tribes made.
  • Playable characters in each of the factions with a gameplay gimmick associated with each faction
  • 3 part Tribal Quests replacing Story Quests for one 5* of each Faction
  • Reputation Quests being split between the factions exactly the same way Natlan works

I'm about ready for all the English VAs to be fired and replaced.

This little nigga i pulled from some blind bag tonight's expression is how it feels looking at the state of the VA situation.

Tighnari might just be the unluckiest character in Genshin Impact. First, his original English VA was removed because a controversy. Now, it seems his replacement might also be swapped out due to the ongoing strike.

But let’s be honest—are we really losing any iconic performances here? Most of the voice actors involved could probably be replaced without fans noticing. Take Candace, for example. She’s a playable character, but let’s face it: people remember her for her design, not her voice.

As for the Natlan actors, they sabotaged themselves by striking before the fandom had a chance to get attached to them. Take Kinich’s VA, who sparked much of the controversy. His role? He is the serious boring straight man type to a comedic dinosaur sidekick. It’s no shock he was easy to replace.

The only VA involved in this who could’ve caused a real uproar is Paimon’s. But she chose to scab during the strike and jump ship to other agency. And somehow, that’s excused because she has bills to pay? Isn’t that what every scab ever says? Peak hipocrisy.

I have shouted into the abyss for a long-ass time that SAG is one of the biggest reasons English VA work is held to a lower standard and spoken about with disdain by most of the gaming and anime communities. It's a corrupt and nepotistic organization who will use dirty tactics, bully, and strongarm companies into only hiring from them. If you aren't part of the current clique within the union, your job options are VERY limited if you are from the US. Collective action can be useful at times, but there is a reason the idea of unions (especially american unions) raises a lot of hackles to some of us.

If you want an example of this, lets look outside of Hoyo to Bryce Papenbrooke. He's a man with absolutely zero range, who usually sounds widly off tone, and is always identifiable when he opens his yap. He only ever had ONE role he was good at (Nagito in Danganronpa 2), and it's obvious that performance was carried entirely by the direction. Yet he's able to land the main character spot in the most popular series whenever he wants. Kirito in SAO, Eren in AOT, Shirou in the Ufotable Fate adaptations, Adol Christin in YS, and the list goes on. Why is this? Well, if you look at his parents... OH, it turns out both were in deep with SAG and long time VAs themselves, and suddenly it all makes sense.

You sometimes get a winning performance like Dr. Ratio from HSR or Van Arkride from Trails into Daybreak as two recent examples that come to mind, but those performances will be surrounded or buried in a pile of "mid" to outright bad performances. Ratio may sound fantastic, but he's a minor character in a game that has a main cast comprised of the mumbling Stelle, the mid AF Himiko, the sleep inducing Welt, Mr. Buttervison (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMnbGj_4RtY), and the wildly off-tone March 7th.

All this leads me to a simple conclusion. If you are a voice actor in good-standing with SAG (who ensure you have steady work as long as you're paying them a % of your earnings, colossal annual dues, and sucking them off), why would you ever attempt to improve? How good you are doesn't seem to matter. All that matters is how much SAG likes you. The very idea of mertocracy is alien to the VA culture in America.

"Well just don't sign on with the union and go independant," you might say. However, given the rediculous legal leverage unions in general have in the US, getting on to a big project as an Independant or Fi-Core VA is going to be a damn rocky road. Agreements with studios and projects like the one SAG is trying to strongarm Hoyo into signing, will usually come with stipulations that force it to hire union only staff or force any hired non-union VAs to go union or the company will be fined. Due to the limited amount of Independnt VA's who have broken through enough to be noticed, if your project has a large number of characters, you'll eventually have to dip into the union talent pool to fill the slots. In hoyo's case, you'll wind up with them weather you want it or not, as the union appears to not enforce it's rule of only allowing members to work on union projects. This appears to be intentional to bait companies like Hoyo into hiring VA's who will eventually force you to sign on with SAG or risk having to recast & rerecord most of your characters.

Also, while it's not applicable to the current events surrounding Hoyo, I'd also like to take a jab at the current state of ADR and General Direction. Compare the performances of returning Scion characters in FFXIV Dawntrail to past expansions. It's night and day.

Even though there are some decent performances in Hoyo games at the moment, I'd honestly love for them to chop SAG off publically and recast everyone affiliated with them. Every controversy that damages that shuggoth will (hopefully) encourage the English VA scene to branch out. Independants can be hit or miss, but at least they have to rise through their own merits and are encouraged to improve their performances to land more roles. Also, there are plenty of foreign english VA's who act in a much more competetive enviorment you can pick from.

Paimon voice actor made a tiktok saying "if voice actors want a game to go union, no one elses opinion matter!" and calls all youtubers liars and everyone against her idiots. She never mentions AI once and says "everyone wants genshin to go union" while ignoring that SAG is a mafia.

Please hoyo exterminate this golem and get paimon a new voice actor. I know it's fucking 5 years of voice lines but it can't be worth the drama.

Half-assed joining in on the English VA talk from @Iselda

I've gotten the habit of looking up the English voices of some characters and I will agree Dr. Ratio is generally great. Aventurine, not so much.

As opposed to March who sounds shrill and annoying, Himeko who's fucking boring, or Blade who can't pronounce "Yuan" or the "liu" part of "Jingliu" the right way. In fact he and Boothill have the "trying to sound 2kewl4skool" problem that makes me pine for their JP voices for a mile because they sound fucking tryhard in English. EN Boothill's dialog being fucking cringe tiktok zoomer garbage just makes it worse. And I fucking love Boothill.

At least English VA Heng knows how to pronounce Chinese names.

Also I have come to understand that EN Kafka has her fans but something about it just makes it hard for me to take seriously.

I do have a fondness for Grandpas Welt and Jing Yuan since I think it fits their aged weary selves though the former seems to be incapable of sounding threatening so his combat lines are kinda meh.

For the Genshin side, I have a strong dislike for EN Diluc who sounds like a SoCal douche, EN Collei who is extremely high-pitched and annoying, and Clorinde and Wrio who are really boring.

I hear-tell, they gave some of the Fontaine cast a garbage accent.

Anyway, I have high hopes for when MHY tells the SAG FAGs to kick rocks and get some actual talented people on board who don't waste time sperging out on twitter.

You know, if only there was some kind of technological advancement that would simplify revoicing a large library of voice lines. Like some kind of vocal model that you could train on a new voice actor and run all of Paimon's lines through to make her sound like the new voice. Wouldn't that just be quackin' crazy?

But for real, even if they recast Paimon they don't necessarily have to redo all her old lines. In '90s American sitcoms you would occasionally see a major character recast between seasons and the show would not even acknowledge it, or brush it off with a joke. I saw someone suggest making Paimon choke on a pastry and then her voice is just different from then on. Give her the vocal equivalent of Poochy returning to his home planet and never mention Corina again.

Knowing how it's california doing the US stuff, another shitshow would be soon to follow anyways lmao.

UGH, PLEASE! Why settle for giving those ingrates any satisfaction? The people already have long since had enough of the flying rat, and the Kinich guy's as good as gone. You'd think the choice of what to do should be obvious!!

Not necessarily. It has been mentioned in the thread before but they are looking at talent outside the US. Think it's a British studio this time. So even though everyone will be Bri'ish, it was brought to my attention that British VAs are classically trained so we might get people with standards and talents and not SAG FAG HAGs.

Alternatively, we might also get another twat who pronounces Yuan as YOU ANN. Yes, I'll take the puzzle pieces.
