Managed to bruteforce centaur and the geo shield legend with just Xilonen + zhongli. I wonder if mihoyo regrets giving zhongli pulse a super exclusive massive break cause it's like they didnt think about the future implications. Just hold E into Meteor is 2+8+4 U geo gauge which is almost half of half of their geo shields (32).

You can easily stun wolflord, a boss meant to counter zhongli, with him and it almost feels like an accident. Mihoyo clearly wants people to invest on at least 1-2 Geo DPS to deal with certain bosses that return on their banners but they must know how Zhongli is pretty much holding the line for people who don't like geo units.

a boss meant to counter zhongli
I don't remember the wolflord being made to counter zhongli. Aren't you supposed to use geo attacks to break the fucking pylons and stun him? or is the abyss one different from the world map one?

The wolflord was released at a time where everybody used Zhongli because of the shield. The wolflord is able to inflict Bleed even through shields, so you can't just slap Zhongli onto your team and tank all the damage.

So it's more "shield cheesing counter" than "Zhongli counter" then. Whenever i fought the wolflord for supplies I just constantly threw the giant rock at him as well as everything else I had whenever he was vulnerable till he fucking perished.

I only have issue with floor 12-1, multi wave mostly on second side. First side has two beasts spawn separately, which is a bit less of a hassle fighting two at once. It's picking your poison kind, fighting two at same time should be faster, but more annoying with elemental reaction without shield.

I really like the current PvE coop event, not sure it's because I'm missing playing a fun coop game though. Seeing a few C6 Neuvillette trivialize game mode was something though. But the most fun for me was entire Anemo team, Xiao-Wanderer-Xianyun-Faruzan (me).
The lunar new year coop event where people compete for highest coins was fun too.

this thread should get a poll : aether or lumine
At first, I thought it didn't really matter. But looking back over the years, I can't see Aether being the "edgy" one with his JP voice and few talking animation, boasting with two hands on hip, seem fit more for a guy.

HSR is hard to say. Stelle being an anime girl, so at first she feels more expressive with bigger eyes from usual deadpan. But in cutscenes, Caelus is as much expressive anyway.
ZZZ, I pick Belle because I prefer having Wise as technician support. His nerdy, thoughtful and reserved manner fit more what I'd like from a guide operator talking in mission. It's easier for me to see Belle as more adventurous and "suffer the pain" from comedy moments. Since TV mode is "dead", so there probably won't be interaction from sibling for new missions anymore (unfortunate).
Wuwa, similar to HSR. Both are good, but I pick male Rover. The guy has better neutral outfit, girl leans more into sexy high-tech wuxia outfit. As in for travelling, the girl would probably be more standout in different regions.

C2 Xilonen get. Did I whale a bit, yes, but Genshin's Gacha continues to be remarkably generous on the rare occasions when I do that. Got my C3 for Dehya and somehow got both weapons on a Yolo roll too, so bonus points. Just need to find where that particular horseshoe is stored...

I'm just happy they don't explicitly design characters around C6...

Instead of going to Inazuma, my side quest ADHD took over and I did a bunch of other shit, including Shenhe's quest. I actually liked that a lot. I like Shenhe herself. I also adored the animation piece at the end and the music number.

Reminded me a little bit of this.

It's a shame that Shenhe is a banner character. Maybe an unpopular opinion but they should add a few more five-stars to the standard wish.

And I'm no closer to Inazuma. I've been going on a farming spree to ascend and level up everyone. Currently, Diluc bears the crown of my strongest character. I don't have any constellations yet; it's just weapon upgrades, talent upgrades, better artifacts and the like.

On a different note, am I seeing things or is the Japanese lipsync for non-FMV cutscenes very poor in Liyue? I don't recall it being that off in Monstadt. The FMVs seem pretty on point but outside of those, it's horrendous.

Edit: And fucking around really.
Oh and Diluc staring at shrooms.

Makes sense, I suppose. They seemed to mask it better before Liyue - or maybe, most likely, I'm misremembering.
Perhaps you're remembering the hangout quests? They have working lip syncing for other languages. Everything outside of that though is manually synced to the Chinese audio because fuck you we can't have nice things.

The only hangout quest I've played is Bennet - once. But I should pay attention to the lip sync now. I suppose it makes sense given that the hangout quests, from my understanding, are like family-friendly visual novels where you go on not-dates with your faves.

So having characters speak and yabber with their mouths closed or certain emphasis on words being horribly timed would just break immersion.

Weird that they only applied it there though but alas, whaling.

Anyway, I guess I will head to Inazuma ASAP after all, considering I got four characters stuck between lvl 40 and 20 from that region. (Sara, Sayu, Thoma and Shinobu)

You should build Kuki ASAP, she's extremely powerful when teamed with Xinqiu and Nahida
I'd like to note that for this team the way of building may be a little bit counterintuitive. The idea is to deal hyperbloom damage which happens when you hit a bloom (hydro + dendro) with electro. What's important to keep in mind is that this damage scales only (excluding dendro resistance reduction) with the electro character's level and Elemental Mastery (and ofc explicit hyperbloom/electro related reaction buffs). Meaning she's very simple to build with Sands, Goblet and Circlet having EM main stat and fishing for as much EM from the other two pieces substats. Getting some HP% and leveling her skill is kinda useful just for healing.
For Xinqiu he's on a pretty common ADC build with Attack% Hydro DMG% and Crit, you may want to pick ER% instead if you're not getting enough energy to burst off cooldown. And for Nahida she's kinda similiar but instead of ATK% you want to grab EM.

For a budget hyperbloom team and more convenient universal gameplay, I'd recommend using Barbara as on-field hydro application. You can build Barbara full HP. As long as using her attacks with her Elemental skill on, she'll heal Kuki too. Since Kuki E.skill costs her health.
I mean "convenient" as in for that team, you only need to use Elemental skill to work, no need for Elemental burst. No worry about "long down time" or energy recharge build.

I have this anniversary web event report from last patch.

The 4th slot was Xingqiu for more single target dps or Dehya for mixed AOE burgeon damage in there. Both provide interrupt resistance in their own way.

By popular demand, I went to Inazuma ASAP. My side quest and exploration autism took a hit at first but I quite like the oppressive and morose atmosphere as well as the historical allusions of the region. It's very different than Liyue and Monstadt.

More importantly, I can finally upgrade my Inazuma fuckers. I don't have Nahida but I could building a second team of Shinobu, Barb, and/or most likely Xingqui for no other reason than that he's one of my top-level characters after Diluc.

Who the fourth teammate will be, probably my only Dendro characters, Collei or Aether until further notice.

Full disclosure, I don't pay huge attention to the meta of building. I just make sure everyone is moderately competent but to my understanding, some characters function with some and and not at all with others, not to mention constellations.

Noted for later.

I recommend picking up as many of the Inazuma world quests as you can. A few of them reward you with weapon blueprints and most of the Inazuma crafted weapons are at least somewhat useful. The sword and polearm in particular are good for characters who have energy issues but don't necessarily want to carry a Favonius weapon. A couple other quests will open up more of Inazuma to explore.

Team building isn't that difficult at least once you understand how reactions function. You basically just pick a reaction you want to focus on, a "driver" for said reaction who's gonna be your main on-field character and then characters who buff said character take part in said reaction. So if your strongest DPS is, say... Diluc, then you look at reactions triggered by pyro like Melt, Vaporize, etc. Mono elemental teams exist but they're somewhat niche and need certain comps to do really good damage. A unit that specifically wants to have a mono team for example is Lyney, whose damage increases with other Pyro units on the team. The other go-to example is Mono-Geo simply because Geo's one reaction deals no damage and its elemental resonance specifically reduces enemy's resistence to Geo, so it kinda works by sheer brute force.

The real best way to understand team comps is experimenting yourself and understanding how gauge theory works.

Diluc + xinqiu is peak's "baby's first vaporize comp", you ult with both and attack with Diluc. This works because Xinqiu wets enemies fast and Diluc heats them slowly so he vaporizes. By this point you want 1 sustain and a support for them, a healer like barbara doesnt interfere with the reaction and can pass TTDS (3* book) to one of them or a buffer like bennet can battery diluc, give pyro resonance (+25% atk) and atk buff on ult+heal. The 4th slot is then a support who could be a sucrose triggering VV resistance shred and passing EM buff for example.

Most comps work like

-Field dps -> The person who attacks on field (Diluc)
-Enabler -> the person who applies elemental first and faster so someone can trigger the reaction (Xinqiu)
-Sustain -> the healer/shielder (bennet)
-support -> The buffer or debuffer or someone who does damage off field. (sucrose)
-subdps -> Generally someone who does damage off field, but usually doubles as something else (xinqiu also does dmg)

I can give examples if you want, but you should understand from reading talents and testing reactions.

she'll be probably on the liyue-version of the chronicled wish banner where hoyo sells of chars that wouldn't pull enough money on the usual event banner via FOMO (good luck waiting another year for eula), that's the current estimate. or hoyo gets generous for a change and gives her (or another 5*) away during latern rite lol never ever

Qiqi is garbage and anyone who tells you otherwise is coping hard
back during 1.x shit was cash

also that song ruined liyue for me, can't run around huaguang stone forest without getting triggered.

I am still slightly upset that they erased his old backstory. Idgaf, I think it's cool so it's canon in my eyes.
keep in mind calculator isn't from jinzhou, and everything indicates federation will be the next nation. they might deliver later, kinda like encore is now featured since she comes from the black shores.
as for the story rewrite, it really was mostly the execution. from what I remember originally lingyang's family was killed by crownless so it was more of a revenge thing, but the way he behaved was kinda questionable. apparently (since I don't speak ricerunes so all of it is secondary) it was the same writer who bombed snowbreak to the point that game is going all in on fanservice to save it - hilariously enough it seems they told their english VAs to fuck off once they started drama over that new direction, given the shit even hoyo has to deal with it makes sense.

in more wuwa stuff (no point making another thread since none of the games offer enough to talk about on their own, even the ZZZ thread is dead after 4 pages) I noticed only after 30+ kills the fallacy of no return battle theme has a part of the de anima song in it.

with the whole game being about "sound" there's some 10/10 music in there. 1.3 was already kino with spectro rover going full havoc and shit, can't wait what's next.
speaking off, the youtube-algorithm decided to spoil me with camellya, and holy shit..
- jean is not the armpit-queen anymore
- pants comparable to barb
- more smug than yae miko
- more flexible than kachina
really curious what the next big waifubait character will be. there's still scar's mate, but if they make the next sentinel some raiden-tier GOAT asians will go apeshit.

good luck waiting another year for eula
I'm still dreaming of way too many characters that haven't been in rotation for years. Or were long gone after I got into the game, including the character that triggered my chimp brain that likes looking at nice things.

Or were stated to be really great to use like Zhongli and Ganyu. And Eula evidently.

I hope they re-add the stuff about his backstory then because the current notes in the menu do not have a single hint about it.

Regarding Camellya, the hype for her has been unreal. Neither Scar or his not-girlfriend have been this hyped by fans. I think Changli and Yinlin came somewhat close by miles yet pale since the fanbase for Flower Power Girl is unreal and she's not even out yet.

Is she the Hu Tao of WuWa or something?

Imagine the hilarity if they had made her a four-star instead of five. I recall seeing a lot of salt regarding Ningguang being a four-star.

It sounds like I'm dragging her but I am interested in her as well.

Now I'm intrigued.
